15TH ANNUAL WEMF (ITS BACK!!!!) Ontario's biggest Electronic music festival returns August 12-14, 2011. And the lineup is absolutely huge with a major lean to Dupstep and DNB. Skrillex, Rusko, Nosia, FLux Pavilion Infected Muhroom and the list goes on... this looks like the most evil electronic lineup Ive ever seen. Here's what the organizers have to say about it. " Expect bigger and better talent from even more electronic genres, a much bigger emphasis on art and culture and greater community involvement. Like a phoenix from the ashes, [...]

There are a lot of things I've considered post-worthy recently, so this is another culmination of the things that I've been feeling as of late. Most of these are pretty new, but some of them are gems you may have missed. all tracks zipped here : I thought for a while that the Mortal Kombat soundtrack idea was a forced project that was trying to fuse two unrelated things. However, the tracks on it are actually really good. They would definitely be awesome to listen to while kicking some ass with triple combo street fighting [...]

I love when producers add a little bit of acid or something to a big bounce funk track. This one is done so great... Know its late but was adding it to our set for the big Montreal Easter weekend party with Wolfgang, Mark Instinct and Harvard Bass tonight. Going to be epic. Getting High by cassian

All the lineups have pretty much been released for arguably Canada's coolest electronic music festival... Shambhala (Although Quebec's piknck electronik might have something to say about that). What's obviously incredible about this party is the setting. Shambhala is held annually in early August on the pristine Salmo River Ranch, and boasts 6 uniquely themed stages. Run free of corporate sponsorship and is funded solely by ticket sales Shambhala has grown into a legendary electronic shangrilah since its humble beginnings in 98 in the west kootenays. Check out some of our favourite [...]

What the fuck is going on over here... last year the net was awash with rumours that Daft Punk were going to follow up Tron with some massive announcements. The daily swarm had said that Rob Light, aka the guy who represents Daft Punk had said that they were preparing a massive tour - "This is going to be the biggest tour of next year." Then they took that down and offered no comment. And french mag Lesinrocks reported that Daft Punk was recruiting musicians for their next studio album. [...]

was just listening to Alex Metric's incredible BBC one essential mix and this forgotten gem came on... So good. Definitely bringing it back.
Ahhh the 90s... i dont really see anything different except that people did E instead of MDMA. Impressive montage collection nonetheless. Im loving some of the stuff coming off Friendly Fires upcoming Pala (named from a doomed earthly utopia fuelled by educational drug use, tantric sex and parrots trained to squawk positive slogans. via Aldous Huxley). Less cowbell, more refined, darker maybe... Either way excited for the full release.
Following in the footsteps of older great hip-hop orators and heroes of the people such as Gucci Mane Lil B offers up this powerful political statement. "You can be whatever you want. Don't give a f-ck, what anybody else think. I'm going to do the most controversial shit in Hip-Hop, you heard it first. — I'm going to show you that words don't mean shit. I'm going to make an album called "I'm Gay" right… I'm going to tell you why I'm the first person to do it in Hip-Hop, why y'all are the first people [...]

I love Kanye... My love of Kanye only continues to grow... Such an insane producer and ego aside such an obviously dedicated artist... I wish I was at this show.. it looks so insane. I can't think of one other artist on the planet that could put on such an epic contemporary raw show like this. Check out the two hour hour video after the jump.... Its a full stream so you'll need to wait a minute for it to load.
Martin Solveig is a genius of both electronic pop music and marketing. His buddy storyline concerning him and his fictional manager is pretty hilarious. In the day and age of nanosecond attention spans keeping fans engaged is an almost impossible feat but Solveig is doing a great job with these quirky videos: More after the jump: Over 35 million people indulged in the 7-minute video extravaganza that accompanied Martin Solveig 's last record and international hit 'Hello'. Shot in front of a live audience at the Roland Garros [...]

Not sure if any of you guys have checked out Jay Z's Life and Times blog but its really cool.. the layout is really different... not for the faint of heart though... it consists of a waterfall of thumnails with pretty random titles barely hinting at what the article, post etc entails... this is a site you actually have to explore and take some time out of your busy internet schedule to get at anything good out of it... But good there is... They just posted this brand new Santigold track featuring Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs... A [...]

I like this remix by the Bloody Beetroots... Its dark, epic, and intense... Takes Brit and flips it on her head in a good way... I kind of dismissed it at first but, unlike all the rest of the blogosphere it wasn't because of Britney... I love Britney... I love Pop music... I just figured it would be another BB song... WHich is also strange because I feel like they consistently put out, if not great music, at least pretty good music.. and a lot of playable music in terms of our sets.... But I guess its because they havent [...]

The Osheaga lineup is up!!!!! and the Festival is expanding from two days to three with a lineup that features Eminem, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, and The Flaming Lips.
