We all know the news that Arcade Fire won the Grammy for their record ' The Suburbs', an amazing victory not only for them but for everyone that has a passion for indie music... However it left many viewers confused and disorientated, so much so that they went on tweeting and status update rampages. "Arcade Fire?! WHO ARE YOU? I bet half the population have never heard of them! Kings of Leon should of won! FAGGOTS". This is obviously hilarious, so some amazingly smart person decided to start a blog called, 'Who Is Arcade Fire?' [...]

The exact locations are London, Beijing, Paris, and Barcelona. and show someone studying abroad travelling to each separate country and experiencing the culture. ' Blue Songs ' is a somewhat misleading title for Hercules & Love Affair 's follow up to their much-praised 2008 self-titled release. Its still the same refreshing recipe of funky disco beats blended with old school house, which is a far cry from the melancholy the title otherwise suggests. Nonetheless, New York DJ Andy Butler and his gang are back but be warned, things have changed. Now boasting a noticeably new line-up, the chemistry has somewhat shifted however Butler's talent for reanimating the sounds of the late 80's New [...]

Two major industrial hazards for hard working designers are: 1. Spending far too much time in front of a computer when you could be napping on the couch. 2. Computers crashing and losing all that hard work. The Crash Pad helps you to deal with both these issues as it serves as both a temporary cushion (for that much needed off-schedule nap) and also as a stress reliever for that moment when the spinning wheel of death signifies you'll be doing another all nighter. Punch The Crash Pad and not your Mac, [...]

There is nothing more annoying than Comic Sans . As a designer I get annoyed when I see Comic Sans used for any piece of printed material. Matt Dempsey , a London based Graphic designer created a website designed to be educational and convince a select few to reconsider their use of the font. If you know a Comic Sans Criminal make them sign the pledge here.

I have three separate mixes I should have shared on Valentines Day , but as most went to lay down in their rose petal covered bed, I found it just a little strange anyone would want to read my choice of romantic mood setters, so a couple of days late here they are: The first comes from Jacques Renault via Oki Ni . "Today anything Jacques doesn't know about disco isn't worth knowing, and this special Valentine's mix is full of both love songs and love-lost [...]

For those keeping their finger on the pulse. Cassian has just uploaded another remix for his upcoming EP ' I Like What You're Doing ' in his series of 'a remix a day for a week'. We have so far seen Nightriders produce a french-cosmic club track of ' I Like What You're Doing ' and The Courtesans turn ' Getting High ' into a acid techno-banger. Today we see Brisbane boys Mitzi remix ' Nobody' into an amazing disco jam (As promised by Jad in our interview with [...]

There is something amazingly mesmerising and creepy about Andrew Babington's photographs. Mostly shot between Australia and the United Kingdom his narrative style photography is highly engaging and full of mystery. Andrew is based in Canberra, Australia and shoots in 35mm film on a Leica MP. To find the rest of the series of these images head here.

Something as simple as an icon can speak a thousand words, visual designer Kyle Tezak has proved this by creating visuals for famous films by only using four icons. It's amazing how easily recognisable some films are by just these small four images.

Interesting but definitely fun news is that James Franco and artist Kalup Linzy have finally released a track from the music projector they have been speaking about. Check out the track ' I Love You ' here .

Melbourne based disco/funk duo Cadillac are making waves with their new tune ' Let's Do It .' This steamy track has been on repeat in my car and on my computer since I found it whilst innocently browsing soundcloud. Head over to their facebook page, show some love and don't forget to check out the EP teaser on Vimeo either. Salvage what you can out of what has been a bummer of a summer and enjoy the free track. Lupe Fiasco must really enjoy what he does, because there is an awesome energy he naturally brings to the stage. From the drop of the microphone to the closing beat in his encore, Lupe never lets it down. As he bounces onto the stage at Melbourne's 'The Palace' to the uplifting, ' Shining Down ,' the crowd roars and pulses as they feed off his infinite energy. Blinding white lights sweep across the crowd as he effortlessly moves from song to song as if it were a mixtape. It was clear that Lupe wasn't messing around. 2006's [...]

Talking about Booka Shade is not 'news' it merely is reiterating what people are already aware of. Being given the opportunity to see them tour their album ' More! ' while they hitch a ride on the Big Day Out freight train was amazing news for me. These guys have been around for fifteen years or so now and they know how to put on a live show. Yes, they make electronic dance music, but do they perform like electronic dance producers? No. They fall into a category where they are not quite a band, not [...]

I arrive at Billboards at 7pm. An unusually early gig. It shows. The venue, which Yeasayer will go on to describe it as the aptly named 'Star Trek Bar', wasn't even a third full. The sun was still out when Sydney band Ghoul began their support set. For those who weren't there, you missed out. If I was a good writer I could maybe do justice to describing their sound, but it's something you have to witness for yourself. They're likened to Dirty Projectors or Radiohead, but when lead singer's Ivan [...]

I couldn't sum this up better than Oki Ni. So I took this straight from their description of the newest mix in their series from CFCF "As a mix REINCARNATION contains the same synth-heavy melancholy as The River, while also being more of a mixed bag. It is a mixture of CFCF's current fixations, dancefloor favourites, and a liberal sprinkling of 'strange ones', the most strange being from the expansive Japanese music collective Geinoh Yamashirogumi. However, despite – and perhaps even because of - the strange moments, this mix retains [...]

Most should be familiar with the name Peter Gordon And The Love Of Life Orchestra . A band that has been around since the 702s, they have been credited with shaping the NYC disco sound. They were most recently brought to attention when James Murphy and Pat Mahoney opened and closed their 2007 Fabriclive DJ set with ' Beginning Of The Heartbreak / Don't Don't '. Since then James Murphy and DFA have released a 123 single of ' Beginning Of The Heartbreak / Don't Don't ' while also [...]
