When 'That Girl That Boy' came out I thought it was possibly the most amazing track I had heard to date. Looking back, I may have been caught up in the fact it is the most energetic track I had ever heard. Since then, they have lost all credibility in my books. I havn't enjoyed a single other one of their songs I'v heard. They seem watered down and set for the commercial world which is a shame. I also reckon they missed their window of opportunity. When the scenesters were loving the new rave, Hadouken! were living it. Since [...]

Muxtape is being shut down by the RIAA! Read the article here . And as if that's not bad enough, Myspace is stealing the brilliant idea of online mixtapes and is adding a feature to allow it. Read the article here . add comment

Ok, so I was out last night in Lava, and was happily soberly dancing away to some dance tunes which are only ever good in clubs, then I faintly here in the bacground 'Day n' night, I toss and turn...'. I couldn't believe it. Proceeded to have the best 4 minutes of clubbing in my life when the bassline dropped and the Crookers remix of Kid Cudi's 'Day N' Nite'. Are Crookers destined to become mainstream club hits? Are we going to hearing fucking Fearne Cotton announcing them on the Top 40? Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and the [...]

OK. This has nothing to do with music, but it makes for interesting viewing. I love these kind of websites. 50 weirdest tattoos add comment

This is a rarity, I have scowered everywhere for this cover and it's been worth it. Ok. So It's not anywhere near as good as Laura Marling's version, but as shown on their debut album 'St Jude', Liam Fray has a nice tender side. They seem to have just disappeared in another shining example of why the NME can really be evil. When there was buzz, the NME couldn't help but lick their arse. they bandied about such things like 'The next Smiths' and 'The next Oasis'. They were basically going to save the Manchester music scene. Personally I loved [...]

A Little Boots/Roots Manuva mash-up sounds pretty sound doesn't it? That's what I thought when I saw the title of an email sent to me. Turned out it was a fooking tune and that the producer behind it has fair few mash-ups and remixes up there belt. From what I gather, AudioShrapnel is two Dj's . One being Dj Overhaul and the other being Dj Suki. They have told me tales of getting caught pretending to DJ when actually just playing a CD! And they DJ'd at the last ever 'Bastard' club night (read more about [...]

Black Kids are releasing what has become my favorite song on the album 'Partie Traumatic'. 'Look At Me (When I Rock Wichoo)' is simply a very fun track that people shouldn't make the mistake of taking too seriously. It's wonderfully innocent and screams 80's. Want to read what asos reckoned to Reggie and co's style at 'The Last Days Of Summer' festival? Well kind of. I'v got three lovely songs for you to download and spread the word of their talent. You can listen to all three on the flash player. Train Station Car Park and other downloads are available off their myspace. myspace.com/williamstommusic and it's full of songs just as good as this. Which is very good. Alan Pownall has posted a new song on his myspace. I still don't know anything about him, although now I have deciphered that he has some kind of mohican and his ear pierced through his new picture. But that's all. [...]

Elbow have won this years music prize. The release 'The Seldom Seen Kid' has beaten the likes of The Last Shadow Puppets and Radiohead, to collect an award that I'm sure a lot of people will think is well deserved. Over their long career they never seem you have received the acclaim that so many believe they should get. I'm a bit gutted Laura didn't win though. The Molotovs have become favorites hear at Dirty Sexy Music. I think it's safe to say that this is the most entertaining yet and actually had me laughing out loud. There distinctive indie-french bar room sound really hits the spot. Enjoy Here it is. I'll start with a boring question, how did it all start? We all started playing together about 8 years ago, mainly due to sheer boredom - like most bands I guess. Nirvana covers were our particular weakness - [...]
COMING SOON ON DIRTY SEXY MUSIC Q+A WITH MUMFORD & SONS . Don't miss a chance to get to know one of Britain's talented bands to come out of the new Folk scene. Awake My Soul - Mumford And Sons (Myspace Stream) add comment

Landing in my inbox this morning, was an email a producer from Los Angeles, I went on his myspace, and saw that he only had 1500 views so couldn't be a big producer, then I heard his remix of New Order's Crystal. It's absolutely brilliant. It's got all of the ingredients of a good remix, you can actually recognise the original song, it's got the build up it's got a catchy hook. It's basically good. He's not a one trick pony either. His remix of Cut Copy's 'Hearts On Fire' is doing the round in the Popular tracks on [...]

Some people are such twats. I really do not have a problem with downloading an mp3 or two from a blog, because if I really like what I hear, I might want to actually buy the album. I also don't have a problem with hosting mp3's because the way I see it, I'm doing the artists a favour by giving them free coverage. What I do have a problem with though, is people downloading whole albums for free, never parting with a penny. And these aren't the real fans. They are losers that sit at home on bit torrent or [...]

You have to love that picture. It's there to make my blog look nice for the time-being. Anyway, I'm only posting, becuase for the first time in ages I have a whole day of doing nothing. And I'm excited because I can catch up on the blog. After going away for 7 days to Majorca where the tan has been developed and the throat has been cut up, you actually lose touch of what's going on in the blogesphere. I come back to see that Justice yet again has got the world buzzing, but that's not my bloggin' scene. I [...]

I was very excited to do a Q+A with Talk Taxis, they appear to be gathering quite a storm and 'No Worries' has been doing the rounds on a CD in my car so this is what happened when they were posed questions Here it is How did you lot get together in the first place? Through school and friends of friends. What are your plans for the near future? [...]

The Kings look like they are going to be back to reclaim their crown as kings of the music world back from the synth loving scenesters of today. From what I'v heard, it's an album that's going to be on a major scale. Huge songs that you can imagine the crowds of thousands singing along to. 'Use Somebody' is better than any other Kings Of Leon song I have heard, aside from my personal and underrated favorite 'Ragoo'. It's a song that has the ability to send shivers down your spine and Caleb's voice is truly incredible. Wow I'm excited. [...]

I love singer songwriters. My second favourite musician of all time is David Gray. Deal with it. Gray is a woefully misunderstood artist, and has a knack for light and shade, lyrical prowess and an ear for a hook. He's released six outragously great albums. Judge him on 'Babylon' at your peril. 'But what's all this David Gray talk doing on New Music Friday?' I hear you cry. Good question! Well, its merely important preamble. I am, this said, very picky about my singer songwriters. I dislike most. Rod Thomas, however, is a singer songwriter originating from South Wales, who [...]

Hello all! It feels like I'v been away for ages and it wasn't possible for me to post while away, but I'm back with a bang with a Q+A with Tom Williams. Enjoy. Ok, to start with, how did it all start ? i started playing solo acoustic when i was 19 in and around tunbridge wells in kent. i played the forum a lot, a rock venue, and tunbridge wells' biggest venue. Often tagged onto bills with bands. i tried to make an effort to not just play acoustic nights. I [...]
