Tycho 's Scott Hansen is amazing and so is his graphic design. Dive is his new full-length release and it is out on Ghostly International now. Here is Teen Daze's take on the track Hours . Tycho - Hours (Teen Daze Remix) <!-- <!-- <!-- Share/Bookmark

I keep hearing and seeing Junior Senior's Move Your Feet everywhere nowadays. Maybe it's because we are reminded of it's awesomeness with the new disco-revival that's blowing up, 'cause it is a damn good song. Tobtok , the disco, dance-ignitin', pistol-whippin' Swedish lord of the beats have done an edit to this classic and is sharing it with his fans, namely me and the rest of you. Enjoy! Junior Senior - Move Your Feet (Tobtok Edit) <!-- [...]

Oh SaiR , you had me at "sunset", now take me to your lair of disco and shower me with funk. Allright, enough pillow-talk. SaiR has fuzzy basses, thick dreamy synths, and lays down some sweet-ass solos once in a while. It's sexy, and it's what I love about this style of music. <!-- <!-- <!-- Share/Bookmark

Ah yes, the 10th release on Top Billin 's Nightrunners series , they always get me excited. This time around they are offering us gifts from Portugal, and namely a duo called Voxels. This music is reminiscent of old house with a dash of spacey disco, it's catchy yet sort of minimal in it's character. The sexy female lyrics really sets this to a new level than it would being only instrumental, might get too repetitive. The track that stood out was The Feeling , which uses elements of the tropical style. You [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. I love dreamy retro-electro. And then sometimes I love some pumping, hard and primal club-techno. It's the minimal use of drums and noises that gets me off the most, it's like a futuristic return to tribal-music. And it works wonders when you want to get a sweat on in the bedroom or dance-floor, or both at the same time. Azzido Da Bass have popped up a lot during my days as a writer of music, on blogs, in clubs.. Here and there. [...]

Josh Legg of Binary fame have put his excess creativity into a solo-project, and thank the electro-gods for that. This is very much, and even more so, what I'd expect from one of the guys who brought so much to the genre. This is dreamy, swaying, calm yet dance-able. When that snare-drum hits I can feel my pulse rise one level higher. Gigamesh - Red Light (Goldroom Remix) <!-- <!-- [...]

Walter Sobcek is not only a character from the Big Lebowski, they are also an Parisian electronic duo who have grown from a blog-favourite to a bigger act featured in Annie Mac's Radio One, RCRD LBL and Rob Da Bank. I remember when I got one of Walter Sobcek 's first tracks ever produced, the emotions I got from it was very retro and dreamy, long intros building up layer upon layer. Now they have taken a another turn, not straying too much from their original path, maintaining their love for great melodies but now bringing [...]

The master of slow-mo house, Kartell , have always brought amazing originals and remixes to the table. Though I prefer his own works. And never has a track he put out disappointed me, I am pleasantly surprised every time. The track Pigalle is a pulsating relaxed disco-ish house track, teasing you into motion, inviting you into his den of sensual beats and thrusting samples. And did I hear a Girls on Film sample? Kartell - Pigalle [...]

Do you like to dream yourself away in music? If so, I think you would love Korallreven . I've seen the name jump around in the blogosphere and on net-zines, and now finally I am confronted with this magical wall of dreamy pop. Like waves crashing towards a abandoned beach, Korallreven brings forth worlds of meditative rhythms and melodies. It's not hard to float away into fantasies with this hypnotic creation. The album An Album By Korallreven is heavily influenced by tribal music of the Samoans, starting off enticing you into [...]

Allright, I haven't been around for a while, I've had my dear friend Antti Walker writing for a couple of months and I thank him for that. Hopefully we can do something together someday. But I decided I wanted to have this blog as my own, and do it as I want... It's my little baby, ya know?! My life took a nose-dive and then a blast upwards, won't go into any details, but I had to put this blog on hold with other things going on. But soon realized that much of this blog, this work we [...]

This Greek act called Poka saw, came and conquered. Their uptempo nu-disco brilliance has made them the newest act on French Express label aswell. Way to go! Even if their state finance is down the gutter - they sure know how to make some pretty darn good disco! Poka - 99 Style <!-- <!--

Discos Pegaos has established itself as one of my favorite labels during the last few months. They seem to release really interesting house music from South America constantly. "La hora de bailar" introduce us to the skills of two experimented chilean producers. Alejandro Paz , active DJ and remixer (with actual residence on Spain), part of the duo Genéricos , and with previous releases under his name on the label Jacobino Discos . And Roman , [...]

Myrryrs . What does that mean? I have no idea, maybe mirrors? But what I do know that I like the sounds they create. They have just the right amount of air in their beats and wonderful hooks. Myrryrs is a young US producer and he feel his work is influenced by the holy trinity of the darks, the lights and the drums. Whatever that means. Listen to this new Discobelle signing fire away. Feel U is the opening track in his FEEL U EP and I can [...]

First off - this pearl was found from Tracasseur . It's really nice that they stay ever so active and post awesome material even during the summertime. This Neil Young cover has grown into me. I didn't like it that much the first time I heard it but now I can't think of anything I'd listen to as frequent as this chill out greatness. Poolside created an awesome atmosphere here and I think I love everything I've heard from them so far. Keep it coming! Poolside - Harvest Moon (Neil Young Cover) [...]

I haven't been posting to DD for a while. The end of the summer has been really hectic. I've travelled, worked like a dog and played gigs around the place. and one of the reasons has been a lack of new track been released in the summed. Same old problem I say. This one - a bright Madonna re-edit by Honey Dijon and Sebastian Manuel really made my day. It has really nice eclectic vibes in it and I love the showery fizzing backgrounds. The re-edit was done especially for their Sunday night residency at HAUS @ Cielo [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. On the 30th of August one part of the Swedish trio Stay Ali, called Boerd (Bård Ericson), will drop his 5 track EP Frigg Off on Comorbid Records. And it sounds promising, minimal club with a dash of artsy sprinkled all over it, just what the doctor ordered. Wonder if he'd be interested in playing a set in a small town in Finland... Let's make it so. This fine video is made by Kommak, and the man himself, Boerd, you can and should [...]

Let me tell you people a few words about two of finest tunesmiths Finland has to offer. They are called Renaissance Man . Their intelligent techno makes me shiver for it has so great sounds and minimalism mating. I would like to categorize them as a part of new a Finnish techno sound similar to Square Mode 's and Femme And Fourrure 's. They all have similar dark gloom added to them. Lynch me if you disagree. They also seem to do great on the continent aswell. Renaissance Man aka DJ Downtown ja DJ [...]

The new M83 LP has been long awaited as the last one was just one hell of a record. Tracks like You Dissapearing and Kim + Jessie were something out of this world and in my dream world the LP would have been a soundtrack to an unreleased Sofia Coppola film. The French genious continues with his chosen path even now. The tempo is a bit up and he has even added a saxophone track into it but the track is somewhat what I dared to expect. Perfect M83 material that is. Take a listen. [...]

Hey, my wonderful readers, long time no see. Jan writing again, which reminds me to put authors name on posts on this blog. I feel a bit awful sometimes, neglecting this blog and all, but I have bigger things in the workings, which all will be connected to my blog more or less. Now to the music. I took my time when it came to Final DJs . People kept bugging me about them, I got sent music by them, and in my stupidity I just somehow left it out. And what a fool I was. [...]

Don't worry. Your computer is not broken, wet or out of battery. This track is just out of this world. It sounds a bit like Flying Lotus would be extra messed-up and remixing an Avalanhes B-side. In a good way though. Can't really say anything intelligent about this. You tell me what you make of it. Vanguard Bots - Life In Paradise [...]
