I'm a bit overdue with this post. But let me just start of by saying Coachella was everything and more. My crew consisted of 5 other awesome ladies. We caravanned down consuming In N Out and getting a speeding ticket (thats how excited we were). Upon arrival, we split up to divide and conquer. Kristen and others had to wait in a massive line to get into the car camping site. Kristen was notified that we needed to get rid of 2 cases of beer since glass was not allowed onto the polo fields. I REALLY WISH [...]
Considering I look like a lobster right now AKA sunburnt, I figured a lobster post was in order. A dear friend of mine sent me a link to this awhile ago and I had been meaning to post it sooo here it is! I mean come on, a lobster riding a record?! who has an uncle named Bismark? Freaking awesome. I also find it amusing that his name is Shelly since my roomie's name is Michelle - granted I don't really call her Shelly this is kinda unrelated but still. I thought I should mention it. Anywho, I just bought [...]

Who would have thought there is a site out there that contains seemingly endless amounts of random, sometimes hilarious lobster pictures! Welp its called, Nice Lobster . Although the navigation on this site is absolutely horrible, I HAD to go through all 24 pages of pictures. How could I forget the infamous, "Lobsta in yo' face!" picture, or some classics such as the knife fight, or the dog and baby in lobster costumes. Granted there were some random ones that if I were running this site might veto, overall the content was pretty amazingly lobster-related.

I know its been too long since my last post, but thought a calendar post would be a nice way to start off the new year (granted its almost the end of January but still). So I have been quite obsessed with Uniqlo's Calendar . Its pure awesome. Considering I just got back from Japan, this seems like an appropriate screensaver to have. Not only is it well-designed, it tells me the freakin date, weather, and displays some lovely time-lapse video content. I particularly fond of the penguin parade, the ninjas fighting on the roof in Tochigi, Shibuya crossing [...]

Washed Out aka Ernest Greene from Columbia, South Carolina has put out an awesome EP entitled Life of Leisure . It's got a summery vibe even though it definitely doesn't feel very summery in San Francisco right now. Typical. Apparently he's putting out a cassette-only EP soon. Considering the music, that doesn't really surprise me. MP3: Duck Sauce - Anyway MP3: Washed Out - Feel It All Around MP3: Washed Out - [...]

I am very excited about the latest collaborative project composed of two awesome DJ/Producers. Armand Van Helden and A-TRAK have teamed up under the name Duck Sauce . The album is supposed to come out sometime in September on A-TRAK's Fool's Gold label. For me, this is house music at its finest. Its FUNKY guys. "You're Nasty" samples the track "Nice and Nasty" by Salsoul Orchestra which was on the album "Blueprint 23 a compilation from, the one and only Jacques Lu Cont. I highly recommend these tracks and look forward to more from Duck [...]

Welcome to me nerding out over user interfaces and their designers. Here is how Dustin Curtis introduces himself, "My name is Dustin Curtis. I make user interfaces and experiences. I am obsessed with sushi, the sky, and the brain. Today is the 8,238th day of my life." His site is easy to navigate through and explore. Probably one of my favorite parts is the about page. Chalk-full of entertainment. The timeline is BRILLIANT. Let me just list off the other things I find inspiring: the iconography (particularly the little fish that appears here and there), the [...]

Zoot Woman has a new album entitled, "Things Are What They Used To Be" coming out August 21st. I'M SO EXCITED. I've mentioned Stuart Price, who's a member of the group before . I wish I could fast forward to the day when I will FINALLY see Stuart Price/Zoot Woman live, if he/they ever tour the US. Until that day, I leave you with one new track and one old. MP3: Zoot Woman - Saturation MP3: Zoot Woman - Grey Day
I dont like my hair neat. I can't get enough of this video and I haven't posted a video in awhile so I thought now was as good a time as any. Tiga is great. I have tried to see him twice now, both times unsuccessfully which is truly a shame. I really don't have much to add to this other than I just found out he has a podcast which seems interesting, so I will be checking it out. I've also included Shoes for your downloading pleasure. MP3: Tiga - [...]

Andy Gilmore of Rochester, NY has some amazing stuff in his portfolio. Great understanding of color obvs. Particularly enjoying his WIRED and Bones magazine covers. Anywho have a looksie at his site for more like this.

Would you know what to do in the event of an Earthquake in SF? I myself have experienced some craaazy earthquakes in my day (aka Northridge 1994) so I totally aced this quiz ya'll. Not only is this informative, its also awesomely designed. The folks over at "I shot him because I loved him, damn him" worked with Asketic SF to create this glorious project. These design gurus has some awfully fun sites as well and the fact that they are SF-based makes them cool in my book. I love SF. I love design. [...]

I love shuffle. So I was listening to my iPod and had totally forgotten about how awesome Louis la Roche is. Apparently he has a new EP out entitled Me & Her which I am currently checking out. The track below is one of my faves. I've also come across the awesome Mnuvrs that has a great mix by Louis la Roche. This site is fabulous obviously, I mean they have the same wordpress theme as me, sooo they must be cool. The mix below has been on repeat ALL DAY today. So great. Check [...]

Let me start off my gushing about the amazing I went to Saturday night. The Juan Maclean and The Field put on a super fun show at SF's Mezzanine. Both artists were different in their own respects which created a nice balance. ANYWHO the show exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend seeing either one at some point. Here are my favorite tracks from these artists. MP3: The Juan Maclean - Happy House MP3: The Field - The Little Heart [...]

Well since I love Alice, I thought I'd start this post off with a track composed almost entirely of samples for Disney's Alice and Wonderland by this guy Pogo . The boy is like 19. Holy Cow. So here are some other songs I have been listening too lately. MP3: Pogo - Alice MP3: Knightlife - Discotirso (Original Mix) MP3: Moderat - Seamonkey ( Moulinex Remix) [...]
This La Roux video is beautiful. And you can find The Twelves remix of this song below. (I'm more a fan of the remix than the original. Shhhhh.) La Roux is a Brit Electropop duo, but I just love the look of this video. So here is some additional music randomness for you (Totally unrelated to the group above). I just bought a ton o stuff off The Whitest Boy Alive 's merch store Bubbles For Sale . Loving the illustrations and of course anything associated with Erlend Øye, who's adorably nerdy. [...]

I have an undying love for Moulinex . This German can seriously do no wrong in my book. I REALLY want him to come tour the US of A, for reals. Anyway here are some of my favorite tracks. I seriously can't get enough. MP3: Cicada - Falling Rockets ( Moulinex Remix) MP3: College ft. Anoraak - Fantasy Park ( Moulinex Remix) MP3: Sebastien Tellier - Kilometer ( Moulinex Remix) [...]

I've been a fan Dave Franzese 's work for some time now and have wanted to get a Hand Drawn T since I came across it. At last the day has come! yesssss. If you haven't grasped the concept yet, pretty much you send in your favorite shirt and a list of your favorite things and voila, Dave does his magic. Dave also include some schwag like stickers and the cutest little octopus finger puppet. I checked out his other sites which are totally rad. Dark Igloo is amazingly awesome. My favorite [...]

I am obsessed with Odopod 's redesign. My friend Pete is a Senior Developer there and clued me in to the recent change and I absolutely love it. There are so many things to explore! Not only is their work amazing ( Milk's White Gold Campaign? Hello?), but they seem like a fun group of folks. Also, their site is PINK! yay. I think everyone should check out every nook and cranny of this site, maybe while you are bored at work...

Ummm this video is awesome. I guess I have a soft spot for anything stop motion. Coraline? magical. k-os is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer from Canada and totally awesome. Enjoying this song very much, and the video as well.

So I just bought my Groove Armada, and Etienne de Crecy/ Alex Gopher tickets. Pretty excited. Not gonna lie.. Anywho, so I've been listening to a lot of The Twelves remixes these days. Super catchy and fun. Unfortunately I was in LA, while they were playing up in SF. Bummer. Anywho, they have been keeping me distracted at work. My toes do a lot of tapping. Ive also discovered Gigamesh . He's got a pretty awesome remix of my favorite Radiohead song everrrr. Everthing In Its Right Place. Also check out the mix below. [...]
