At the Beat we're eagerly awaiting the release of new Death in Vegas material and this mix Richard has done for BBC 6 music is an ideal taster for the new album. Consisting of entirely new DIV material, this is 20 minute mix gives just a good idea of the new material to new fans but will satisfy the faithful. Richard Fearless Mix For BBC 6Music by Death In Vegas Death in Vegas are touring in the autumn but have a [...]

I was going to post the almost-perfect Gabrielle - Forget about the World (Daft punk mix), but I think it's already been posted across various music blogs and if you want it, its easy to find. So here's another Daft Punk mix from around that time, Coming in at almost 9 minutes, this is the type of jacking dirty house that you'd imagine went down a treat at the social. There s a simpleness and statement of intent in this that you wouldn't get if the same artists worked together now. here's the track to [...]

Have to give major props to Isodisco and BBC6 music for this one - this is such a gem, pardon the drama, but it's a real piece of hist-or-ee! Recorded at the Paradise Garage 's 2nd Birthday by Lenny Fontana on a reel-to-reel and later transfered to DAT, the quality is beyond most of the usual crusty Levan mixes. Larry Levan - [...]

Fresh 86 was a pivotal event for hip-hop in the UK, for those that don't know was a jam/gig/festival (call it what you will) at Wembley with pinnacle acts including Africa Bambaata, Mantronix, Hashim and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - many whom were performing for the first time to a British audience. The action was broadcast on Mike Allen's Capital Rap Show - here DJ K-Delight pays tribute to the event and the music with a mix that includes snippets of the Mike Allen show. [...]

The action was broadcast on Mike Allen's Capital Rap Show which was the lynch pin of the early Anglo hip-hop scene. Here DJ K-Delight pays tribute to the event and the music with a mix that includes snippets of the Mike Allen show. [...]

The recent Ralphi 'Rockin' Rosario & Julian 'Jumpin' Perez mix we posted proved one of our most popular and deservedly so, it shows folks ain't doing nothing new. So let's build on the greatness of Chicago's founders with another Rosario mix from 1986... and yeah starting your mix with the 007 theme is bold as brass. Again thanks to DHP . Ralphi 'Rockin' Rosario - Chicago WBMX mix (1986)

Here's stella dj and all-round lovely chap Casper C warming up for Actress and Lukid at out-there electronic music night Lanzarote . We've been really impressed by the forward-thinking programming of Lanzarote and, in our minds, it's currently one of the most important club nights in the country. The depth and breadth of music included in this mix is testament to their mentality, managing to work-in experimental music from across the last few decades with today's blooming electronic music scene. Big fan of Jerry Bouthier. Always seemed slightly to play a more intelligent selection than some of his contemporaries. Nathan Wilkins obviously being a HUGE exception to this! So, ahead of the release of some rather tasty edits of tracks taken from Gomma's back-catalogue he's done this mix 100% of which is taken from the Gomma stable. For those of you that used to stumble around the dancefloor at Our Disco this will be like heaven. 100% Gomma Mix by Jerry Bouthier by [...]

Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' is frequently acknowledged as one of the best songs ever. Remixes are never likely to better the 10 minute long Patrick Cowley remix , however, it's always nice to add a new slant to classic tracks particularly for long nights on the dancefloor and, with that in mind, here's Black Strobe's highly charged new version. I feel Love 79 - Black Strobe August 2011 by Blackstrobe Records

Another Chris Carter release from the Optimo Music stable, this time in the form of his 1985 track 'Moonlight' backed up with remixes, or rather reinterpretations - as they're not constructed from original parts, by Neurotic Drum Band and Oneohtrix Point Never. The first one to get an airing is Neurotic Drum Band's version which, I'm fairly sure, will be coming to a dancefloor near you soon. It's a brooding monster with a stunning synth intro leading into a slick, rhythmic track which flourishes and pulses in all the right places. Coming [...]

Wow! Here's a belter of a mix taken from Ralphi 'Rockin' Rosario & Julian 'Jumpin' Perez's WBMX radio in Chicago around 1987-88 - you should know what to expect, but often expectations fall short here that's not the case. So many classics on there, but if only there was a tracklist to accompany... you can find more of this thing over at the ever expanding archive that is Deep House Pages [...]

We're huge fans of Classic records , the record label created by both Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter back in 1995. Their output over the years has kept us salivating and yearning for more (check their back catalogue for heavyweight proof) - you want house that moves a dancefloor without selling it's soul then turn to these fine gentlemen. Be sure to check this mix as it does everything I'd want from a 4/4 selection in the deepest, moodiest manner - it's also my default running soundtrack of choice, heads down and onward... [...]

HUGE remix! Marshall Jefferson 'Move Your Body' ( Terry Farley & Leo Zero Remix ) by Leo Zero

It's been a long time since we've seen Stuart Price under his Jacques Lu Cont alias. Truth be told I can't actually remember the last time I saw him - by which I mean that I can remember when it was (christmas, about 5 years ago, at Fabric) I just can't actually REMEMBER any of it. There is a story here... Anyway, after spending all his free time being Madonna's 'musical director' he's now back! On Friday! At The Nest! With Alan Braxe! What more could you ask for? You have the good people at Scandalism [...]
