Bbbbbbass... Bbbbbbbass... Bbbbbass... Bbbbbass... Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise. My. If you don't think about mayonnaise when on the dancefloor then you're weird. Worth & Eats Everything - Tric Trac

I did it ya'll! I came back from the dead. I didn't think I would but miraculously, I found a way. 2012 is coming at me hard and only now have I found the right time to keep you guys and gals dancing and do I have a number for you. Check it! Martinez - Flabbergasted

I love reading top 10 lists. Unlike reading top 10 lists, writing them is kind of a butthole. There are soooo many factors to consider and so many elements to include to cater to readers. Luckily, I'm not going to do a top 10 list per se for albums but a list of my favourites this year. If there is an album not on the list or you don't agree with I have to say, don't be so rash and understand that everyone has difference tastes and preferences hence different year-end lists. Azari & III - [...]

2011 is said and done. Productively, I slept on the albums of 2011 post, which I still intend to do, and I apologize. To make up for such tardiness, I've asked the girlface to concoct her top 10 of 2011. Sometimes her music taste, being so exquisite, puts mine to shame but I still love her. In no particular order, these are WDPK's girlface's top 10 of 2011. Beirut - Vagabond Cults - You Know What I Mean [...]

It's that time of the year again, folks, where this author recaps this year in music, which was TREMENDOUS mind you. But before I get into the good stuff, here's a little about me in case you're wondering. If not, skip below to the bold sections... I moved away from an iPhone and got an Android phone. I momentarily had a Blackberry, laughed, sold the phone and went back to my Android. I was hit by a car. Then after I kicked the car after he tried fleeing, he and his friends [...]

2011 has been a wonderful year for music, that much is clear. But before WDPK gets into the good stuff, the regular productions, a look back at what is possible when transforming a regular production into a brand new entity will be the focus. Remixes have the ability to upgrade or downgrade a song. Obviously, this lists subjects songs that have been upgraded. There have been a plethora of good remixes this year and it was painstakingly difficult to narrow it down to 10. But with a team of specialized individuals and advanced polling (my computer and I and comparing [...]

The end of the year is approaching and you know what that means... YEAR ROUND UP! But before that, let's talk about the quality music Turbo Records is putting out once again with Sei A's Frozen Flower. Frozen Flower is absolute bliss. If we could put techno music into social classes Sei A would be upper class, Sei A's production is upper echelon stuff. In addition to the rest of the EP remixes by Midland and Youandewan surface and my favourite is Youandewan's dubstepping all over Frozen Flower ; final production is a [...]

There isn't really much I need to say here... Tiga . Azari & III . Remix. (Okay, I'll say a little. Tiga maintains the funk of the original while adding a dose of techno darkness. Reckless With Your Love with a maniacal charm. De-lovely.) Azari & III - Reckless With Your Love (Tiga remix)

Games is a number I've been anticipating for quite some time and now it's here. But I can't find any information on who or what Infinity Inc is. So instead of talking about Games' undeniable funk charm and its ridiculously catchy vocals, I will talk about vid-yoo games. Specifically, I hate when people watch me when playing video games. It's a time and place where we can relax, be ourselves and fuck shit up and we don't want others judging us. For instance, you know games where you can smash stuff unnecessarily? Like smashing crates, [...]

Populette is a Brooklyn, New York duo and can be categorized as experimental techno house. They produce off the Throne of Blood record label and that is pretty much all I know about Populette (my early post about them is pretty much void of details about them). Is it worth mentioning then that their music is some perplexing shit?! And I mean that in the best way possible. Also, their style leaves me wanting more as their mixes are filled with minimal techno, tech-house and some intricate stuff that fits perfectly with the former styles. [...]

Look at this Canada douche. It's that time of the year Canada. That time of the year that we see a flock of red, green, grey, blue and black all huddled together in the mall, buses, streets and class. Come on, I know you've seen it. Whether it's a guy and a girl couple rocking identical black Canada Goose jackets (cute, right?) or a group of dudebros sporting different colours of Canada Goose so as to say, "Naw, we have different styles of Canada Goose (manly men) ," or a bunch of bimbos rocking Gucci [...]

It turns out that there are some folks that aren't totally happy with Renaissance Man's debut album and all of its experimental glory. I personally would have preferred that they elaborated on their heart pounding tech house style but I too welcome the different sound. Look at it this way, Turbo Records, one of techno's biggest labels, decides to release a long-playing record for you, wouldn't you want to let your creativity soar? If the sound you've already pioneered has found success on other labels, what are you going to bring to the table when the big shots [...]

Brodinski, the heavy-hitting techno producer (and occasional hip hop dabbler) has ventured into the realms of record labels with his own label, Bromance Records , alongside Manu Barron (CEO of Savoir Faire Company). I assume the name Bromance is inspired from films like I Love You Man but that isn't as important as the music they intend to put forth - techno and hip hop, allowing listeners to decide for themselves what style to sample. Here is an indication of things to come from Bromance Records, Let The Beat Control Your Body, [...]

Posting about Daft Punk is like posting about life. So much can be said but where do you even start? They stand for everything I know about house music and bright neon lights and robots. What does Youtube say about the godly French duo? kawaiiananimegurl says: "If I saw Daft Punk in the city I would calmly walk up to them stare at them... not saying anything... and I'm sure they'll know what I mean." blankmk91 says: "They were always bosses." wildspiritualkiss [...]

(I know this review is long overdue but Surkin's album kind of just crept up on me. I was scouring other blogs and mention of his debut LP shocked the hell out of me. Frantically, I downloaded the album and listened my ears off. The review...) Surkin , one of french house music's up and comers has finally released his first long playing record. A long time fan of hip hop music, Surkin began educating himself with dance music in 2003. Since then, Surkin has produced a number of house music staples like [...]

Holy crap, there is a lot of wicked music coming out in the final months of 2011. But I wasn't talking about Mr. Oizo's Stade 2 . No, no, no... Stade 2 is a whole different entity (and a category for that matter). Who in their right mind can mimic Oizo's sound? NOBODY. It takes a very intricate kind of person to deliver the rhythm and disorder Mr. Oizo does and he does so seamlessly. With a number of LPs under his name, Stade 2 is just another chapter in his [...]

When a song shares the same energy as Len Faki's Stranger to Stability remix , that merits some attention. Autoerotique , probably known best for their remix of Lykke Li's Little Bit , are a house music duo from Toronto that churn some over-the-top party music. Some of it is borderline mainstream ala Deadmau5 and I'm not going to sugarcoat this fact but the ability to produce music that wont find its way into a David Guetta mashup (god, those are retarded) is still there. With some [...]

The III in Azari & III has a solo project going on and it's no joke. Alixander III is releasing an extended play later this week under label Get The Curse from Paris. Luckily my ears have a promo package to review and it is a stellar five tracks of deep house bliss. My personal favourite is Dichtschlamm , which sounds like an after-hours theme song for 2011 all the way to 2012. Expect this number to get playtime in DJ sets the world over. Also, if you were enamored by [...]

How deep is your love? Well darling, my love for you knows no bottom. The Rapture - How Deep Is Your Love?

What do excellent techno producers do when they are bored? They collaborate to form an even greater entity. In this case, Zombie Nation and Tiga - as wonderful a combination since peanut butter and chocolate. Their long playing record, Partys Over Earth has finally been unleashed and one question hovers over the heads of techno enthusiasts everywhere, will this party be worth the price of admission? Twelve tracks of absolute techno bliss is what Partys Over Earth presents. Some of the album's tracks are already favourites amongst the electronic music discourse, ZZafrika, the [...]
