Nothing particularly shocking or indicative of a major add here, but King Coachella, Paul Tollett (surprisingly pronounced "Tow-ley"), appeared on KCRW this morning to talk all things related to his now-legendary Southern California music festival . Earlier this week, tickets went on sale for a previously unannounced Beck performance at Los Angeles' Echo. The indie rock godfather reportedly plans on using the now sold-out show as a warm-up for his upcoming Japanese tour. Beck's mini show claims all proceeds will benefit Educating Children International-a seemingly notable cause from first glance. But, upon close examination of the concert's promotional material, things seem a bit...well, sketchy. Why? Well, it seems there is no "Educating Children International." While the Collective also released a remix of a Goldfrapp track , the Ratatat reworking never leaked onto the internet. In a seemingly desperate move, scalpers of the world have already descended upon the lucrative universe of Coachella tickets-bearing in mind that no lineup has been released, nor have tickets gone on sale to the public. Scalper-haven StubHub already lists single-day and three-day passes on it's website. For an event that may find itself lacking in substantial performers, $875 for a full festival pass seems a bit much.
