The video for new JLS single 'Eyes Wide Shut' is surely about to surface in all it's glory, but for now you'll have to make do with this slightly shoddy (but still watchable) version: It's all rather Calvin Harris 'I'm Not Alone' / Chris Brown 'Yeah 3X' , isn't it? ' Eyes Wide Shut ' by JLS featuring Tinie Tempah is released on February 13th.

Earlier today an unfinished demo for new Britney Spears single ' Hold It Against Me ' appeared on Soundcloud, causing Britney fans to go into meltdown. The demo features a Kesha-soundalike session singer, and sounds slightly like Brit's 'Shattered Glass' crossed with Kesha's 'Take It Off'. The demo keeps dropping off the net and reappearing, leading fans to speculate that the final product - said to sound very different to the demo - is about to drop very soon... Check out the demo below:

Seriously now, does David Guetta bash out a tune a day or what? His latest (after the one we posted this morning , that is) features American R&B singer Miguel on vocals, but isn't included on Guetta 's retitled and rereleased 'One More Love' album. Perhaps it was meant to stay on the cutting room floor?
Sky Ferreira recently confirmed via Facebook that her debut album has indeed been pushed back from its intended release of early January 2011, saying that her label had decided it wasn't as 'done' as previously thought. She continued: "I am now recording even more material for the record because I feel like I've grown (musically) since when I was 15-16 years old. All of the songs will eventually come out because they are all important to me. I'm trying to push for an EP to come out in February too." [...]

Jamie Smith of award-winning indie-poppers The XX has sprinkled some of his magical remix dust over Adele 's upcoming single ' Rolling In The Deep ' (released January 17th). We doubt this reworking will become as popular as The XX's remix/cover of Florence and The Machine 's ' You've Got The Love ', but it's an interesting diversion nonetheless.... Listen to the Jamie XX 'shuffle' of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' below:

We didn't really 'get' Hercules & Love Affair the first time around, and we're unlikely to change our minds any time soon if new single ' My House ' is anything to by. Fans of the supposed '90s dance revival might enjoy it, but to these ears it sounds like two very different - yet equally dull - songs playing at the same time. Watch Hercules & Love Affair's 'My House' video below: 'My House' is taken from the album 'Blue Songs' released on January 31st.

Remember Iyaz ? He does the same sort of thing as Jason DeRulo (at least to our ears) and enjoyed huge hits with ' Replay ' and ' Solo ' back in 2009 and 2010. He's coming back this year with the David Guetta-produced ' Last Forever ', and it's rather a nice little pop song - even if it is yet another one that makes us wish we were on holiday (see also: Mohombi's ' Coconut Tree '.) Listen to Iyaz & David Guetta 's 'Last Forever' below:

While some of you are yet to fall for Natalia Kills ' dark electro charms ( too Lady GaGa etc ), perhaps her stripped back performance of debut single ' Mirrors ' will change such opinions. The 24-year-old performed the track at the Cherrytree House, the same studio where the likes of Lady GaGa, Kelis , Robyn and La Roux have all performed piano-led versions of their songs.
If you remain a stranger to the delights of Christina Aguilera and Cher 's Burlesque , check out this video of the latter performing ' You Haven't Seen The Last of Me ' from the movie. Burlesque is in cinemas now.

British singer/songwriter Natalia Kills (formerly Verbalicious) piqued our interest with 'debut' single Mirrors , but the latest track of hers to surface - ' Free ' - is also very listenable. The uplifting piano chords remind us a little of Toni Braxton's unreleased track ' Get Loose ' - listen below and tell us if we're imagining things...

Swedish-Congolese rapper Mohombi (as you do) has recorded a track with Nicole Scherzinger . The RedOne-produced ' Coconut Tree ' concerns beach-based romance beneath a coconut tree, and sounds entirely appropriate on a grim 2nd of January in the UK. One can only hope that it's currently being marketed to an Australian audience, who can actually see the sun at the time of writing. Mohombi's throwaway eurodance sound with cheesy lyrics might not feature in any 'best of lists' come 2012, but you may find yourself humming along in July when it inevitably invades the [...]

Everybody loves a freebie in January, right? So cheers to good old FrankMusik for giving away new track ' Hurt You Again ' via the appropriately named freefrankmusik.com . 'Hurt You Again' is a big blustery ballad, perfect for a bleak winter's day over the usual electronic stompers we're used to from him. It wouldn't go amiss on the last Hurts album.

The artist formerly known as Jessie Malakouti is giving it another go under the guise of new 'band' Jessie & The ToyBoys (the Toyboys are mannequins...or something.) Jessie is most famously known for penning a song that was ALLEGEDLY ripped-off by Team Britney for 'If U Seek Amy'. Jessie & The Toy Boys' debut single 'Push It' features rapper Yelawolf and was produced by Jimmy Harry and No Doubt's Tony Kanal, which is fitting given that Jessie's voice more-than-occasionally strays into Gwen Stefani territory. 'Push It' is full [...]

As we've learned from Britney's latest perfume commercial , she chooses her own destiny (ahem). And so it comes to pass that her new single ' Hold It Against Me ' may not premiere on January 7th as previously reported. MEH. We know this because her manager tweeted the following over new year: Lot of misinformation out there regarding the release of Brits 1st single. Don't believe everything you read. Unless of course it's an official announcement coming in January. STAY TUNED. That said, the single is DEFINITELY coming in January – [...]

Ten years on from the release of their last album 'Room Service' and Swedish pop-rockers Roxette are planning a proper comeback with new studio album 'Charm School ' on February 14 (their 2006 best-of featured two new singles, 'One Wish' and 'Reveal'). Lead single ' She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio) ' appeared online this week, and stays true to the original Roxette formula of slightly-late-80s-but-glossy pop rock, but whether this appeals to a new generation remains to be seen.

Perhaps it's time to review our opinion of Avril Lavigne . Lavigne's stroppy persona has irritated us greatly in the past, but she does produce the occasional great single - and these days our eyeliner-ed brat quota is capably filled by the 'delightful' Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless/ Gossip Girl . Avril's new single 'What The Hell' is an enjoyable new year treat, and was given away for free via Facebook yesterday - though as far as we can tell it's still up for grabs. To download, just [...]

While everyone else was out getting plastered on New Year's Eve, Lady GaGa was on Twitter announcing that her ' Born This Way ' single and album will be released on February 13th and May 23rd respectively. We must say that we're a little disappointed the album is so far away, but we're sure it will be worth the wait. Let's hope she manages to keep it under wraps for the next 5 months... GaGa's Twitter announcement - which simply read 'THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 112 - was accompanied by the [...]

M.I.A .'s new mixtape ' ViCKi LEEKX ' - presumably pun on Wikileaks - isn't particularly easy on the ear, but then again it's free and beggars can't be choosers. The 19-track freebie includes production from Danjahandz, Diplo, Blaqstarr, Rusko, So Japan, Switch Rusko and more.
