Hot off supporting Depeche Mode 's Europe tour, French / New York duo Motor (Bryan Black and Mr. No), are soon to release their 3rd album 'Hyper Machine'. Due out in February on Dim Mak Records the record features their signature mix of metal, tight guitar riffs and funky techno beats that defined their previous releases. "We wanted it to carry on the spirit of those first two records, but at the same time we had to break new ground. We knew after [...]

Relative newcomer Felix Cartal is about to unleash his debut LP on Dim Mak Records and we've been sent the title track and first single 'Popular Music' to give you an idea what to expect from the album. The release is everything you'd expect from Felix; heavy beats, distorted melodies, and epic buildups and breakdowns rein supreme throughout the album. Warning: Keep a look out for his very large tracks "Berlin," "Drone," and "Boy and His Computer", as they may very well blow your head clean off. [...]

Scion A/V and Fluokids recently showcased a five track release on Fluokids very own blog. Featuring tracks from Don Rimini , Renaissance Man , Mondkopf , The Teenagers and more the release is a sick dance fest that'll get you shakin' your tail feather like you just don't care. If you like the words 'large' and 'epic' used as adjectives to describe the music you listen to, then your sure to like these. I can't [...]

Ever since I heard ' Drop The Phone ', I've had a soft spot for New York band Shy Child . Their music always made me dance and although I've never seen them live, I've heard great things about the show they put on. They are no strangers to fame, having played O2 Wireless, Big Day Out and having supported the likes of Klaxons and Björk . So the reason I'm posting about them (because I haven't really heard anything new about them for ages), is that on [...]

Hailing from the very efficient land of blond hair, beer drinking, Sauerkraut and techno music comes a man who defies all stereotypes (maybe not beer drinking). Tensnake 's seductively smooth music has been gracing my ears periodically for the last two months. Always meant to blog him, but never got around to it. That was until I got my hands on his upcoming EP 'Coma Cat', when I felt an obligation to spread his glamorous, epic disco funk to the world. It's chilled [...]

United Kingdom Vocal / Pop Rock / Soul "Dark times ahead" - The opening line to Lucky Soul 's sophomore album A Coming Of Age. Believe me, there is nothing dark about this band at all; they are all about sunshine, rainbows, puppies, and wholesome teenage road trips along the Californian coast. Their lead single " White Russian Doll " sounds like the latest Holland-Dozier-Holland brainchild, but with enough 2010 spunk to keep it sounding fresh. It's [...]

So another Daft Punk 'leak'. Real or not? This track however, actually sounds like them. The track has elements of Thomas Bangalter 's score for Irreversible and the drum sample used sounds exactly like the drum sample used in their track ' Face to Face ', but slowed down which would indicate that Daft Punk are reusing their own sample library like they have done in the past. French media however have proposed that a copy cat [...]

After some collaboration effort by electronic music god Fatboy Slim & indie hero David Byrne in The BPA , they once again are teaming up for a strange concept album about the widow of the Philippines' former dictator, Imelda Marcos . The album, ' Here Lies Love ', is due for release 23 February 2010 and comes with vocal contributions from the likes of Cyndi Lauper , Róisín Murphy , Sharon Jones , Florence + The Machine , St. Vincent , Tori [...]

In what is said to be her finest pop to date, Marina & The Diamonds (minus the Diamonds) recently performed on a music program called Pop! with music genius Gonzales delighting audiences with her newest single 'Hollywood' done Gonzales style. The result: Absolute mind bogglilation. CAN SHE DO NO WRONG! Download: Hollywood (Gonzales Version) - Marina & The Diamonds (Right Click, Open in new window) (Alt Link) ENJOY!!!

In light of releasing their US debut single and to celebrate their upcoming tour with La Roux , the Boston foursome Yes Giantess are handing out the A-side to that very single. Produced by Starsmith , 'The Ruins' sounds like a wizard playing a Nintendo before dancing around the room in triumph at finishing level 26. The 7" is backed by B-side "Call My Name," a light R&B jam to a forlorn lady. [...]

4DISCO Records recently released Volume One of their new Filter Heaven EP. Bringing back disco house, each with one funky track of their own on the EP, are DJ EQ , SKingz , Agent Stereo and my personal favourite Joey Chicago . Sounds a bit like Viv's and my hero Louis La Roche . Right on. Breakbot 's first single has finally arrived via Ed Banger and after about 10 minutes on repeat I'm come to the conclusion that I've found my new love. The funkfest features some very smooth vocals from Irfane (from French band Outlines) and is incrediably addictive. It basically makes you wanna fly away to the South of France and drink wine on the beach in Saint-Raphaël from the early afternoon and into the sunset. 'Baby I'm Yours' [...]

Crookers upcoming debut album 'Ton Of Friends', is a massive collaboration effort (obviously why the album is called what it is), and at the moment the album getting loads of blogosphere attention due to the fact that Crookers with friends sounds a lot better than just Crookers. Slowly, songs 'leaked' or not, are popping up all over the net, first with their release 'Put Your Hands On Me', featuring Kardinal Offishall and Carla-Marie , followed by 'We Love Animals' with Soulwax and Mixhell , then came 'No [...]

United Kingdom Electronic / Dream Pop / Soft Rock I always thought that Hot Chip were, well, a bit shit. I don't know what they're about, or what their message is, or really where any of their inspiration or soul comes from. One Life Stand is just a nother addition to their dull discography, and I can't see it doing them or anyone any favours this year or in the future. Their musical ideas [...]

United Kingdom Alternative / Electronic / Indie It's quite rare in the "hype machine" era of today for a band to actually put their music where the hype is, but Delphic have succeeded in abusing the short window of time given to most hype bands to deliver, and well. Acolyte is probably one of the best produced and executed debuts of the last 5 years. It's message is clear, consistent, and completely black and white; there are [...]

UK duo, Dolby Anol have yet again produced another amazing song that has left me clicking the ol' 'repeat' button on my iPod. The track, titled 'Cameroon', starts off with an old school funky disco vibe, the track then transforms about 2 minutes in into a buzzing, screeching, warped banger montana. Hit the town. Download: Cameroon (Original Mix) - Dolby Anol (Right Click, Open in new window) (Alt Link) Bonus: [...]
