The Subs recently rocked out Fabric so incredibly hard, the world famous night spot felt it appropriate to have the boys from Belgium produce them an exclusive track....so exclusive that you can even find it here....and probably a number of other places, but I'm really getting down with this number on this drizzled out afternoon, so it seems only fitting that I drop it on you folks. Plus the song has the same name as everyones favorite happy-happy-fun-time pill. Its a mad-glitch-bass-driving-mayhem -filled-fun-fest...but I only have it 128kbps....I know...unplayable....so go figure out a way to cop the 320. [...]

Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer, Alan Wilkes dropped this banger my way a few days back and I'm bummed that I slept on getting it up right away. A bunch of my blogger-friends have already dropped this, but I don't think they'll mind if I continue trending on this joint....its fucking fire. He beats the shit out of this Shwayze track, keeping the energy going hard throughout the track. He's been coming with some serious fire lately, so be sure to keet an eye out for this dude. Shwayze - "Get U Home" (Alan Wilkes Remix)

Warpaint have the coolest band name that I've come across this month. It wasn't the fact that John Fusciante mixed their record, or the fact their getting rave reviews from all over the place that inspired me to take a listen - it was entirely the band name. See, so if you have a dope name, I'll probably listen...if not, well, I don't know - you may never make it into the headphones...just sayin. This track starts with a simple guitar lick, then the haunting vocal comes in, and by the time the drums hit, you can't help but [...]

Relation have a lot going for them. Their music stands out from the throngs of "wha wha wha, grah grah grah" music that shows up so often in my mailbox. Not to complain or anything, I'm into a good "wha wha wha, grah, grah grah" every know and again, but the over saturation of this "fidget-electro-peakhour-house -dub-break-indie-remix-redux-r efix" genre is beginning to wear out my ears. Its nice to get a track that takes the opposite path and incorporates atmospheres and melodies into a song in an accessible way. Kids gotta dance, for sure, but they don't always have to bang [...]

At first glance, I thought that I would hate this video, but I've recently come to the realization that its the shit. Great use of camera work, totally reminds of the video for "Smack My Bitch Up" from the Prodigy...plus the colors they use are fantastic..girls in shiny blue pants, Indian headdresses, pools, boats, hotel rooms,.....new favorite video of the moment.

For the past two weeks I've been listening to a lot UK Garage. Its really time for that shit to come back up to the surface. I'm not sure if its due to this latest craze for dub-step, or because people are just growing tired of the same old electro house stuff, but this music can still start an eruption on a dance floor. HavocNdeed , a NYC/Vegas based duo, comprised of DJs Ob-One and J. Paul have done an excellent job reworking the classic Artful Dodger track, "Re-Rewind". Adding elements of dubstep, grime, and break-beat to the piece, [...]

This one started as a hip hop track for a friend, but somehow morphed into a dubbed out remix...I guess that it was all the dancehall I've been listening to lately, or the fact that I didn't have any stems for this joint, and spent the better part of yesterday isolating vocals...Anyway, I know the track has been out for a minute, but if you've come this far then you like what you heard, so thank you.....feel free to repost this bitch if your into it... Miike Snow - "Animal" (Blastercase Dub)

If you've never heard of The Hood Internet you really should get yourself familiar. The Chicago team of STV SLV and ABX consistently pump out some of today's hottest remixes and mashups. These are not your average bullshit Ableton mashes; no, their much more layered than that, often grabbing exclusive verses from MC's and adding their own beats to create some of the most interesting music to come out of the Midwest music scene in quite some time. This time they've taken a Mando Diao track and completely spun it on its head, adding original verses [...]

Wallpaper are a San Francisco-based duo who you may recall from their Passion Pit remix that dropped early in the summer. Them Jeans ...well if you don't know who he is, go do some West Coast dance music research. Caught him live a while back in LA, warming it up for Blaqstarr and Rye Rye, and he throws an excellent party. Jeans puts a nice flip on this track, full of timely hand claps, grinding synths, and buildups that will crush on the dance-floor. Dude proves that he knows what the hell he's doing with this one. [...]

While, personally its been a huge part of my musical education, dancehall can't claim itself as the most accessible musical genre for everyone. Controversial subject matter, the constant re-appropriation of riddims...and consistent comments from people usually along the lines of, "Oh, you mean reggae." This track may not convert all the naysayers, but I think it will change the opinions of a quite a few. Swiss DJ duo, Talen , has teamed up with Jamaican dancehall legend, Sizzla to drop a blend of dancehall, electro, and rock. It reminds me of the Teddybears stuff from a few [...]

I woke up this morning to find this floor burner sitting in my inbox - wild bass action from Australia's, Act Yo Age .....featuring some nice production work from Brooklyn's, Drop the Lime . This one gets really deep, but its full of random one-shot samples that keep the piece moving. Its got enough of a throw back sounds to bring me back to glory days of House music, but the synthline keeps this record fresher than a new white tee. With a crazy remix by Spruce Lee , who adds enough key stabs to flip this [...]

Serious soft spot for the Beach Boys - Their greatest hits tape was stuck in my car stereo for about four months straight (no joke)....A little while ago I scored some acapellas, but hadn't really figured out what to do with them - until last week - so here's the result - Lots of percussion - The vocal harmonies are so good that it felt pointless to muddy it up with any synths or basslines.... The Beach Boys - "Sloop John B" (The State Remix)

Yup, It's finally happening. Months after it was originally supposed to occur, I'm self hosting this thing, so no more yousendit or zshare. You can check out all that is new with Blastercase at www.blastercase.com. yes, we even have a sans "blogspot" URL....Should be pretty good for everybody...Bigger and better articles, events calender, video page, all sorts of fun stuff to help you kill some hours online...

I'm really good about checking my email fairly frequently, my girl says I do it at an OCD rate. Today I neglected checking it until about 30 minutes ago, but was happily surprised to find two new remixes from Starks and Nacey (Nouveau Riche). They had been sitting there for the past two hours, so hopefully I can get this post up before everybody else catches on to how good this stuff is. Nacey does a serious number on the La Roux track, "Bullet Proof" that will surely get any party started correctly. Excellent work [...]

DJ Gero has put out a nice banger of a track on his latest compilation "Poyz Who Like Pirlz," and while I have yet to understand what a "Poy" or a "Pirl" is, the music is good and speaks over the cutesy terminology. My favorite French club producers, Kazey and Bulldog have gotten a hold of this song, and lit a serious fire underneath it. Lots of nice drum work and great selection on the breakdowns to keep the track moving. This could start some serious mayhem on the dancefloor. [...]

Back from my mini-vacation up in NYC. Lots of drinking, walking, record shopping, iced coffees, cigarettes, random tv shoots, subways, cheap hotels with scary bathrooms, $5 cans of beer, and numerous slices...It seems everybody up there is in a band, or produces, or raps, so I've got a lot of EPs and demos to check out, hopefully some good ones to share with you guys. In music news, Example has a new single "Watch The Sun Come Up." I like it better than that "Hooligans" song that he did with Don Diablo a while [...]

Couple things for your late Sunday night, early Monday morning. I've spent the majority of my evening re-educating myself on the Hip Hop mixtape scene, (DJ Vlad, DJ Clue, Kay Slay, A-Team) I'm NYC bound in the AM, and definitely plan on picking up some shit in the city while I'm there...I know you can get most of that stuff online now, but there's something nostalgic about buying a bootleg tape off the hard New York cement that seems very correct......O.K. and the second thing is that I got this track from RQM . Dudes from Spain, [...]

The Baltimore International Festival is this weekend...(I just found this out about 5 minutes ago) After looking at the lineup, I realized that the 70's Disco group, Heatwave is performing tomorrow night on the Poly High School Athletic Field at 8pm...(It's a pretty cool space, they should use it more often for concerts.) You may, or may not, remember them from such hits as "Boogie Nights" and "The Groove Line"...or because their keyboard player, Rod Temperton, is responsible for two of the greatest Michael Jackson songs of all time, "Rock With You" and "Off the Wall"...So if [...]
I'm kinda feelin the whole throw back to the late 80's, early 90's dance music...The single drops next week.

So I've been pretty addicted to this weeks Essential Mix by Major Lazer. I figured I'd give "Hold The Line" a go, giving it yet another remix. I know it's been done to death, but it's a great track and I think I've given a different spin than most of the other DJs around. Hope you all agree, and thanks for the support....P.S. Big ups to Nacey for his second set of ears. Major Lazer - Hold The Line (The State Remix) (ZS)
