At The Bug Theater in Denver Yeah, dude, I was there. The last Jandek post I made seemed to get people's attention and, shortly thereafter, I got an email from Marshall: OH OH. So, I told a few people here about the free tickets to see Cavalera Conspiracy. It was a fun show. A lot of energy from all the bands that played especially Throwdown, Dillinger Escape Plan, and definitely Cavalera Conspiracy. I'm in love with the Cold War Kids. Their first album, Robbers and Cowards , is genius track after genius track about a myriad of things from a man on death row to some pretty messed up self-examination. But apparently, in Russia Russia, Russia bans emo . Now let's be honest: adults have never been able to figure out what's going on with kids on a mass scale. And any kid who tries to explain it to them isn't trusted because, well, they aren't an adult! So apparently, tapes are still popular music distribution in prison. Weird. They said in California State Prison, that tapes are still on demand. CD's are not prohibited because it could easily be made into a shank when your rocking out to Fall Out Boy or Mariah Carrey in prison. So I guess music is still being kept real in the house. So next time you make make a throw away round on your old mix tapes, think of the prisoners in California, because they need it!

I was looking for June of '44 videos to put up here so that I could write an entry about them, but, alas, there was nothing that really leaped out at me of theirs on Youtube. When Black Metal started emerging in the the Metal scene in the early 90's (of course not counting the first wave Black Metal), Black Metal had a very very poor music production quality, or kvlt or gr1m as they call it. This was a social outcry to the world of Pop Music and Metal music and all its glory multi-million dollar production quality music. Thus emerging the cry of the shitty production value. The perfect word to describe Peasant (who moonlights as Damien DeRose) is "warm." Other adjectives I've heard used are "heavenly" and "soft" and "cozy." If you ask me, all of these adjectives fit wonderfully to his music. He's a singer/songwriter whose songs use little besides and acoustic guitar and his voice, which, by the way, has a great quality to it. His songs are short, usually ranging about 2:30 to 3:00.
