Everything Designer Drugs touches turns to gold. They have perfected the art of the remix, putting just enough of their own style into each track to make it their own, but at the same time, keeping all the right parts that made the original great. Although they have VERY different styles, I would compare them to Justice in that sense. I have been in love with everything they have done ever since I 1st heard their remix of Philly indie kids Hail Social 's " Heaven " and can't wait to catch them live. Oh, [...]

Two Justice posts on the same blog in 1 day ?! What is this 2007!? (not funny) Alright, so I didn't know Jakae was doing that Ed Banger post , my fault, but I came accross this live cover of Justice's " Stress " by the Canadian hardcore punk outfit Fucked Up and was really intrigued by a) the fact that this group would cover " Stress " b) that they did it so well. Also Justice will be performing at the San Fran " Treasure Island Music Festival " on Sept 20th & [...]

Over the last few years, Ed Banger Records has been everything an electro label should be. Innovative, exciting, a bit mysterious at times, and undeniably cool. It seems to me though that lately Ed Recs is having a bit of trouble figuring out where it wants to go or what it wants to do next. I know Busy P is always saying that the label doesn't have any real concrete business plan or vision other than to keep making good music; but I find that hard to believe coming from Pedro Winter , a man [...]

Not too long ago we posted Midnight Juggernaut's remix of Cut Copy's " Hearts On Fire " , which in my opinion, is one of the best remixes...well ever. This time, Cut Copy returned the favor and took a stab at the Jugg's track titled " Dystopia ". While it doesn't leave the same lasting impression of the former, it definitely deserves to be in heavy rotation on your IPod. Will Australia ever stop this beautiful musical imbreeding?! I hope not. Do yourself a favor and pick up the full-length releases by both the Midnight Juggernauts ( [...]

As promised, we will continue to post 1-2 artists a week that we feel aren't getting enough attention in the blog world (or in general). This week, I wanted to take this time to put the spotlight on two Aussies (aka Calling In Sick ) who have mastered the art of the remix, along with some sick originals. These guys seem to fit right in to the current (extremely successful) Australian music scene, which seems to stress having a good time making music over blatant self promotion and pointless seriousness. The guys just had their 1st live show this past [...]

The Presets are an odd duo (Kim & Julian) from Sydney who consistently put out bangin' original electro-rock/dance/whatever tracks. What is not to like about these guys? They are finally getting the mainstream credit that they deserve after a long respected run in the underground. Do yourself a favor and go pick up their full length release Apocalypso in some shape or form asap! Buy it here! Also, check out their myspace page , judging from these interviews and their band bio, the guys definitely have a great sense of humor. To hold you [...]

None of us here at jacuzzikillers.com plan on posting much this holiday weekend, because we all have alot going on, but I have had a few requests for more remixes by Danger & A-Trak . So here are two of my favorites: First, Danger 's take on Brooklyn rockers We Are Scientists track " Chick Lit ": We Are Scientists - Chick Lit (Danger TV Remix Edit) [...]

It's no secret that France & Australia have a stronghold over the electro scene right now. However, the two styles, while similar in some ways, are very different in others. I find Australia's sound to have more of a rock influence, while the latest French seems to be influenced by alot of 80's synth-pop and movie scores. As a nice little treat for the 4th of July (or Bastille Day in honor of my postees), here are two remixes that have been blessed with the French touch . We posted [...]

Similar to A-Trak 's full length release for Nike , Converse has followed suit and lined up an all-star cast to create original material as part of a viral marketing campaign to celebrate their centenial anniversary. First up features a collaboration by Pharrell of N.E.R.D. , NYC lyricist Santogold , and Julian Casablancas of The Strokes . To be honest, I am not all that impressed by what these 3 great minds came up with, by I am posting this because I am excited about who they have on [...]

This remix of Swiss duo Division Kent 's " L'Heure Bleue " ended up in our inbox earlier this week, and its been on heavy rotation ever since. Check them out on their myspace page, their originals actually remind me a little of LCD Soundsystem (not sure why) with ambient female vocals. Division Kent - L'Heure Bleue (Keenhouse Remix) The remixer who goes by the name of Keenhouse , is apparently an Indo-German (like Zack Morris ?) [...]

Montreal's A-Trak has become a big name in what seems like overnight. He has always been respected throughout the DJ/hip-hop and even more recently electro communities, but it seems like his recent contract with Nike to produce the next installment in the Running Man series has made him somewhat of a household name (in the blog world at least). Although he is known mostly for being a ridiculously talented hip-hop spinner (the ONLY DJ to ever win all 3 major DJ competitions - claiming his 1st at 15!!) and being Kanye West 's tour DJ, he is [...]

Legend has it, if you throw a Scandinavian into a pot of boiling water and listen closely with a stethoscope, you can hear that it actually screams in the form of melodic synth-pop. Zeigeist , from Stockholm, Sweden, further perpetuate the stereotype that Scandinavia is the world's most fertile breeding ground for this special breed of electronic music. Until someone sent me this latest Twelves Remix of " Humanitarianism ", I have to admit that I had actually never listened to Zeigeist before. I was pleasantly surprised with something that sounded like an upbeat, blog-era, bastard child from the Ladytron - Eurythmics - [...]

Do French producers take special government admininstered vitamins to help them continuously pump out melodic dance floor remixes? If so, do you know where I can get some? Maybe its the fact that the French repeatedly rank among the happiest nations in the world, enjoying threesomes and baguettes on a daily basis? Well whatever it is, Parisian producer DatA is doing things right. Recently he has remixed countryman M83 's single " Kim and Jessie ". Now before I go on, let me say that I think M83's Anthony Gonzalez is a great producer who has done some [...]

It's no secret that Australia's Midnight Juggernauts have been huge for quite some time now. They've been touring the world non-stop playing live shows as well as DJ'ing, while still finding the time to record and produce new material. I just read a great interview over at TheMusic.fm with Vin Vendetta , keyboardist/vocalist of the MJs, and he had some very interesting things to say about his creative influences and views on electronic music, as well as some flattery for my hometown of NYC. Their debut album, Dystopia , was just released here in the states, [...]

This track by Brooklyn indie rockers, MGMT , needs no introduction. Justice did what they do best, and the result is a funky-pop-electro infused bassline you won't be able to get out of your head. I know this track has been out for awhile, but here is the higher quality, full, non-radio rip version: MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix) ShareThis

French DJ/producer Danger has just released his latest remix. This time its SymbolOne 's " Love Juice " that gets worked over. I am not quite sure how I feel about this track yet. I think that may be because I hold Danger's work to such high standards, and I know if some out-of-nowhere producer put this track out I would be way more excited, but his last couple of tracks have left me feeling a little unsatisfied. His original composition " 11h30 " was one of 2007's best and the rest of the first EP provided a solid supporting cast. This [...]

Hey everyone, I'm excited to have my 1st post up on the new site finally. For everyone that doesn't know me, I am 1/2 of NY Lights , a NYC DJ/remix/production project who have done remixes for Danish rockers Kiss Kiss Kiss and Shaolin's own Ghostface Killah , with a few more in the works. We just started up our new myspace page (which is pretty pathetic right now w/ only 1 track up - but we're workin on it!) so stop by and show us some love here . Anyway, enough about us, our purpose as bloggers on this site is not [...]

The Twelves out of Rio, Brazil have done it again. Another beautiful pop-electro remix. Once again, they've remixed The Black Kids out of Jacksonville, FL; this time its Hurricane Jane. Their basslines flow like nothing else I've heard in a long time, and Reggie Youngblood's vocals are the perfect instrument to compliment the ambient synths. The Twelves have become somewhat of a rarity, since there aren't many artists who consistently put out this quality of work anymore, especially in the blog era. Hopefully they'll follow South Central's suit and put out a full length album sometime soon. Until then, enjoy [...]

I wanted my 1st post on the new site to be a good one, give you something to think about or something new, but its late, I've had too much to drink, and I just got my login & account info from Jakae. So for now, here's what's playing on my playlist right now. Sohodolls - Trash the Rental (Crystal Castles Remix) Myspace: Sohodolls Crystal Castles -DN ShareThis
What is the hood like in Brighton, England? I've never been there, so for all I know, it could be the UK's version of Compton, but everytime I think of the getto in England (outside of London), I can't help but think of Ali G from the West Stanes Massive. Respekt! Getting back on topic, South Central have been residents of the blog world for quite some time now, and still have yet to put out anything more than an EP. Many consider them to be amongst the ranks of the modern era nu-rave/electro elite along with Justice , [...]
