Aside from this official snippet and some other poor videos from their show in Chicago, we really haven't gotten a solid listen to what Them Crooked Vultures are actually going to sound like. I'll admit that it's been a minute since the last time I listened to Lootpack's Soundpieces album, but this vintage gem that Stones Throw is offering as their 50th podcast has me rediscovering my love for another classic. Mark Ronson premiered this new Miike Snow remix on East Village Radio's Authentic Shit last Friday night. It's the first track in the mix, but it's at about 7:30, after the guys from the Fader finish their set. I know it sounds like a little bit of effort to have to click your mouse twice and everything, but the track is definitely worth the wait and the rest of Ronson's set is great as always. He throws some nice laidback horns on the remix, which kind of reminds me of the Ted Leo dub remix of Spoon's "Don't You Evah". [...]

Aside from artists like Fashawn and B.o.B. there really aren't that many new rappers out there that have done anything to grab my attention so far this year. Well, that was true up until a few weeks ago, when I heard some leaked tracks from this new collaboration from New Orleans' Curren$y and Philly's Wiz Khalifa. The project obviously takes on somewhat of a Cheech and Chong/Meth and Red vibe, but there's something special about the sound that these two guys create when they hop on a track together.
