The frontman, who recently released his début solo album 'The Boxer', also brings out a new single, 'Everything You Wanted', on August 16.

It's that time of year again. The 2010 Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominations have been announced today in London. As usual, there are a few surprises, but overall it's a very safe list of choices. The early favourites are 2003 winner Dizzee Rascal for his album Tongue 'n Cheek, alongside Strange Glue 2009 album winner The XX.
We love Jimmy Eat World. Despite the fact they sit in a genre of bands we'd quite like to bottle, it's hard not to remember with fondness their Mark Trombino-produced genre-hopping album Clarity or the ear candy melodies of Bleed American.
Just a few days ago, Deerhunter announced the name of their new album and how they wanted you to promote it for them. That was kind of them. Now they've partly repaid the favour by announcing a tracklist and a postage-size jpeg of the album artwork.
Inception might be the best movie you see all year, but we seriously doubt anything will compare to the DVD release of Boredoms' 77 drummer ensemble hammering their drum-kits in unison. On July 7th, 2007 at 7:07 PM, Japanese group Boredoms, orchestrated a performance by 77 drummers at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in Brooklyn, with the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge setting the perfect background.

It's one of the most eclectic weeks Strange Glue can remember for many a moon, with nearly every genre covered in this week's interesting album releases. Whether you like the folk pop melodies of Seth Lakeman and Alan Pownall, the catchy indie-pop hooks of Tokyo Police Club or maybe it's Max Richter - a classically trained artist with a fondness for electronica who's fifth album is based upon 25 minutes of music commissioned by London's Royal Ballet in 2008 and inspired by T.
It's hard to believe that The Coral have quietly slipped into the realm of a veteran six album band in an impressively succinct eight years. Tonight the band demonstrated that their repertoire is deceptively full although the band does trade heavily on its material from its début eponymous album.
It's hard to believe two years have passed since the release of Cut Copy's excellent 'In Ghost Colours'. The Australian synth-pop trio are back again, and although their new LP won't be released 'til 2011, the band have unveiled the first track from their third studio album.
The fact that tiny festival Standon Calling hasn't sold out yet must be testament that good taste is rare and elusive. At this point, it's not even about good taste--with the line-up so wide-ranging and the rest of the festival package so action-packed, it's actually just about good sense.
Over the past month, details on the upcoming Corin Tucker album have started to emerge like a Max Clifford-orchestrated tabloid story.
