On August number 9 the debut full length from Van She is being released. If you loved The Teenagers Reality Check, I would defiantly recommend checking out Van She 's album V. The similarities lie with the 80's popish synths and drums.Van She hail from Sydney Australia and have been making amazing tracks since '05. Listening to their album I can hear influences from Nirvana, U2 and Perl Jam. For being a Psychedelic / Shoegaze / Techno (according to their myspace page) band its great hearing classic influences twisted into [...]

Beautiful Losers celebrates the spirit behind one of the most influential cultural movements of a generation. In the early 1990's a loose-knit group of like minded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the "establishment" art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture. Starring a selection of artists who are considered leaders [...]

While searching for information about the label Komakino I came across a boutique in Vancouver Canada coincidentally called Komakino as well. The boutique carries a broad range of high end labels including Ann Demeulemeester , Damir Doma , Gianni Barbato , Julius, Number (N)ine , Passarella Death Squad , Raf Simons , Rick Owens , Sak, Simeon Farrar , The Viridi-Anne , and Undercover. It seems the idea of the Guerrilla store started by COMME des GARÇONS. I just want to point out they have a very functional and visually simplistic online store located here. [...]

JR / LOS SURCOS DE LA CIUDAD / SPAIN by JR JRs most recent project in Spain I love the concept, the stories art and film! "In it, tradition, the ancient town and its inhabitants history are gathered with the passing of time marks. They are "the town faces" and "the facades of its characters".In each wrinkles of its inhabitants and in each chink of its buildings, everyday life has been printed as well as longings and illusions of population and the town to build [...]

A great site for street wear and underground fashion is HighSnobiety.com and over the summer they have launched two other sibling sites being HighSnobette and Selectism . While checking out HighSnobette I saw these Zanotti suede ankle boots and felt the design and color were amazing. Unique detailing and with a simplistic form. There available at Net-A-Porter . If you owned these I would want to date you.

April77 is a label from France with their FW/08/09 collection being based around Rock n Roll but going deeper being influenced by the 80/90's non Londoners UK population. Large over sized knight wear straight skinny slacks and denim. It's great seeing what is a very French/Parisian label and style incorporate with a UK influence. The colors consist of monochromatic grays, blacks and blues. A good touch is the acid wash...? Is this even considered acid wash when its this extreme? But anyways the bleached denim are a great addition to the collection. April77 is available at [...]

SS08 FW08/09 I am appreciating this futuristic designs from London UK's label Kamakino Design mash up which seems to have taken inspiration from 50's/60's contemporary desig n of the future and the modern off beat oversized trend currently happening.Could the name be influenced by the Joy Devision song Kamakin ? I don't know... just a thought. With this possibility it makes a bit more sense and its possible to see kinda a post-punk UKish influence in the designs. [...]

One of the most creative artists I have ever come across has been Roadsworth. Hailing from Toronto/Montreal Canada his work has never failed to impress and make the viewer contemplate their surrounds. Peter Gibson, a.k.a. Roadsworth could face up to $100,000 in fines for his controversial 'street' art. He brings urban banalities to life by creating candles out of crosswalks, for example. He makes one stop to reflect, as does all good art. The question is, should his conscientious work be scrutinized and treated as public vandalism? Or should it not be considered in a [...]

On Aug. 3rd at the Gatineau Museum of Civilization Red Bull is hosting their Flugtag event . I'm not too sure what I think of it as it currently seems to be no way to win. However the even looks like it could at least hold some hilarity to it. So check it out. Aug 3rd. Gatineau Museum of Civilization , if you don't know where that is you probably are not from Canada and should not bother trying to make it to this event, wait until Red Bull hold an event in your area.
