The follow up to his strong collaboration with Midland sees crooner-cum-composer Breach teaming up with 50Weapons stars Dark Sky on The Click/The Fallout EP. Unashamedly club orientated, both tracks feature busy rhythms, chopped-up vocal snippets and basslines designed for you to feel rather than hear. A-side The Click is where you can best hear the two very different sides of this production coin. An approachable Bashmore-style bassline underpins dark, menacing synths and scatterings of white noise, whilst the sparsely used vocal hook smoothly segues you from driving, punchy [...]

Midland returns with a blistering call to the dance floor on his new two-track EP on AUS Music. It features 'Trace' and the ironically titled, Duke Dumont snubbing, 'For (Yacht) Club Play Only' which would win track name of the year if it hadn't been for Four Tet's recent - (kh / the track i've been playing that people keep asking about and that Joy Orbison used in his RA mix and Daphni played on the Boiler Room). A-side, Trace, is one of those tracks [...]

Joy Orbison's not one for giving much away, and although he has finally got himself a nice shiny Soundcloud account from which to share his music from, you could hardly say he is giving away all the family secrets with his 'Just For You' teaser. Just For You also doubles up as the name for Joy Orbison's recently announced (self curated) series of club nights. The first event will take place on Saturday, February 23rd . Hessle Audio co-chief Ben UFO will headline alongside Orbison.

Justin Martin and Eats Everything are the type of electronic producers where you dont really need to spend hours describing their music with clever metaphors, you read their names and you know what to expect, banger. Admittedly 'banger' is an overly used adjective in club music, however pretence aside thats what they write and together they have crafted two more weighty dance floor fillers, that will get some heavy rotation over the coming months. Another quality release on the juggernaut that is Hypercolour. Justin Martin & Eats Everything - Feather Fight EP (Drops [...]

Tender Hooks is the collective brainchild of four wayward scamps drawn together by their love of meat, lager and quality dance music. Still in it's infancy, this club night/record label hybrid is already showing a lot of promise with a lip-licking line-up taking over the first room of Corsica Studios this Friday - 1st Feb. We caught up with the chaps and asked them for their selections of the “ tenderest hooks ” to come out of the underground over the past decade or so of dance music. Gareth: [...]
Not everything in life is about the hype........Headed up by Sam Cassman aka Lorca , 'Dont Believe The Hype' is a new column we are launching on Blah Blah Blah with the express aim of discussing those artists that perhaps dont get the recognition they fully deserve. There are many artists out there who often have equal if not superior music to their fellow peers, and yet for whatever reason they dont enjoy the same level of notoriety. This is not to say that all hyped artists dont deserve their fame, but rather that hype can often result in [...]

New York based producer Drew Lustman aka FaltyDL , has been skating on the edges of electronic music for the past 4 years. Making impassioned musical leaps from one genre to another, taking in techno, garage, house and even jazz in his formative years. His first 2 albums, 20092s Love Is A Liability and 20112s You Stand Uncertain were well produced but slightly confused affairs. However it seems with his third full length offering, Hardcourage , Drew Lustman has finally found the confidence to settle on a sound he is comfortable calling his own. [...]
Huxley surged into the lime light in 2012 with arguably one of the biggest club smashes of 2012 'Let It Go'. A track that featured in many an end of year list, we placed it a No.5 , whilst it also received a DJ Mag nomination for 'Best Single of the Year'. Also with a top 70 finish in RA's Top 100 DJs 2012 list, it is fair to say there is considerable anticipation for what Michael Dodman aka Huxley has planned for the forthcoming year. It would appear he is starting [...]

Darius Syrossian is arguably one of the brightest breakthrough producers in recent years to emerge from the UK house scene, with his Hector Couto collaboration ' Metal ' particularly grabbing the attention of peers and clubbers in 2012. Like any producer or musician the trick is making good on that breakthrough potential, and with his soon to be released new single "Who's The Douche" its fair to say, despite the terrible track title, that Darius is up to the challenge. Who's The Douche is a straight up no nonsense bass heavy house track, [...]

Canadian Jacques Greene reveals the hidden untitled track from his recent, and highly recommended, Fader Mixtape. Quicksand is Jacques Greene in what is undoubtedly his natural habitat, large expanses of sound that envelop every part of their surroundings whilst having enough definition to keep them from dissipating into a chaotic mess of reverb and echo. As yet there is no indication this will get released, but with almost 19,ooo plays already we're fairly confident it cant be far off. Whilst its not quite Arrows its certainly a worthy addition to his more emotive sweeping sounds.

Last week Radio 1 featured Duke Dumont in their 'Future Stars of 20132 series. This week it is the turn of the nailed on pick for future star of 2013 and beyond. Not only is George Fitzgerald an extremely talented producer, combining dance floor weight with headphone melody and depth, he is a sublime selector. Having admired his sounds since Hearts on his own 'Man Make Music' label we have played everything he has put out since. Fitzgerald like many new UK producers made his first foray's into the wider world via [...]

If you're a regular reader of BBB, you will have no doubt noticed that we like a little Shadow Child . Shadow Child aka Simon Neale has already had a successful career under his more well known alias Dave Spoon, however in 2012 his new monica came to the fore with releases such as 'String Thing' on Dirtybird and ' So High ' on Jaymo and Andy George's Moda Black. These releases not only captured the dancefloor but also the attention of a key artists such as Claude VonStroke, Maya Jane Coles, Skream, B Traits, Eats Everything and Pete [...]

We've said it before, if 'eharmony' did musicians.......well you wouldnt get much better than a TEED, Foals hook up. Before we had even clicked play we were confident this was going to be good. Take Foals subtle yet anthemic guitar qualities and combine them with a song writer who has the same gift from a more electronic perspective and you get a simply sublime piece of club music. My Number (TEED remix) has sufficient drive for the dance floor without sacrificing the sonic qualities of the original. We have no idea when this is due to drop, but we recommend [...]

Four Tet likes a nice surprise, and today he has announced a new LP of rarities. 0181 is a collection of archived sounds recorded between 1997 - 2001. For those fans among you who pre-date the 'Pause' album and his more recent straight up beats, this is a real treat of classic Four Tet left-field electronica. The album is currently available for free download via his Soundcloud and word has it that 0181 will also get a full vinyl release later in the year.
