Slowly but surely, I'm getting more and more into Papercuts (who were featured on my Feb Mix ). They just relelased the music video for their new single "Do What You Will" taken from new album, Fading Parade (released last week). The music video fits the mood of the song, even if it takes a dark turn once frontman Jason Robert Quever leaves the party. Watch it below via MTV Buzzworthy Blog: Papercuts - Music - More Music [...]

I still remember the impact of "Carousel" when Ravens & Chimes played it at Bowery Ballroom last summer . It immediately hit me. I just knew it was special. Ravens frontman Asher Lack shared the song with me a few weeks ago, and I couldn't believe how special the song was in recorded form. The band was abble to capture the spiritual essence of the live version, creating an incredible song that you all need in your life. Everything about the song, from the mood, to the lyrics, just speak about the human spirt and [...]

Joyful, exciting, exuberant. These are adjectives that should be used to describe London newcombers Niteflights . These lads have the indie pop thing down to pact. They only have a set of demos, but oh boy, are they strong as hell. I don't really know where to start. Each song is just a bum rush of all the best kinds of energy. Their songs reel you in with addictive pop hooks that will put you in a state of ecstasy. Like all the best acts, they've a sound that is very much their own. Even so, there [...]
![[video] The Vaccines In Paris](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3259535_lg.jpg)
Yolanda, my good friend who runs the fantastic Vaccines fan blog, FuckYeahTheVaccines , sent me an exclusive video of the band. It's a behind the scenes look at the band during their tour in Paris. I thought it was important to share because it shows just how down to earth the band is. With all the NME type press that the band's been getting, I think people automatically have a preception of this band. I think this video helps set the record striaght that these are just regular guys making pretty incredible guitar rock. Check it out [...]
![[new] James Blake – What Was It You Said About Luck](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3259491_lg.jpg)
"What Was It You Said About Luck" is a new James Blake song that is the b-side on The Wilhelm Scream single that is released tomorrow. If your a fan of the personal electronic rock that's featured on his debut, you're going to love this song. It's a short display of emotion that your going to want to listen to more than once. Check it out below:
The Strokes brought the rock back to SNL last night. They played the now familiar "Under Cover Of Darkness" as well as "Life Is Simple In The Moonlight", a new song from Angles. "Life Is Simple In The Moonlight" was pretty great. I can see it growing on me a ton in the immediate future. Can't wait to see how it takes form on the album. Watch both performances below. I also posted a mp3 rip of "Life Is Simple In The Moonlight" after the jump: Life Is Simple In The Moonlight: [...]

Eureka Birds are a band from Baltimore who make delicate indie rock for the soft of heart. Their Eureka! EP is finely packaged with 6 songs that are simple a pleasure to listen to. Each song is built around a lovely melody that becomes fully realized with Justin Levy's warm vocals. Their songs take flight with a wide variety of influences that create the ultimate package. These guys are far from amateurs. At parts, the EP reminds me of some familiar artists. "Sarah (Sits and Cries)" sounds like an ode to Rockin' The Suburbs era [...]

My friend Anthony Bauer pointed out that Anthony Gonzalez from M83 has a song in The Art Of Flight trailer. The Art Of Flight is a snowboarding film featuring Travis Rice. The trailer itself features a song called "Fire Shall Devour Them" by The Three Corners Of The Earth. The Three Corners Of The Earth is a collaboration between Anthony Gonzalez from M83 and Curt Morgan from Brain Farm. "Fire Shall Devour Them" is a journey through the mind of two great artists. It's quite a trip. It's now on sale at itunes . Brain [...]

You're a fool if you don't love Hot Chip's "And I Was A Boy From School" That song's nearing classic status. Goddamn Electric Bill (what a name) seem to agree with me. They recorded an instrumental cover of it, and it rules. The renamed song "Girl From School" and gave it a different look, but it's just as chill as the original. As Charlie Sheen would say, this one's a #winner. [mp3]: Goddamn Electric Bill - Girl From School (Hot Chip Cover)

The Rubbish Zoo are 5 guys from Cheyenne, Wyoming who now reside in L.A. They're the combination of the bands Save My Hero and This Isn‟t Congress. They came together to form The Rubbish Zoo with the intention of creating smart indie rock that has plenty of catchy hooks. The guys sent me "Fade" & "More Ink Than An Octopus", two songs from their debut EP, A Great Detective Race . From what I hear, these achieved their goal and more. Their songs are high energy indie rock songs with guitars graced with a tropical twang. [...]
I adored the hell out of Mother Mother's 2008 release, O My Heart. It was just a solid album, plain and simple. Their new album Eureka comes out on March 15th via Last Gang Records Zach, from We Listen For You has been raving about the new album, so I trust that it's good. He just posted the music video for album track "The Stand", and I'm pretty blown away. The song is packaged with all kinds of winning elements. It's right on the money with tight riffs and [...]

Seattle artist Virgin Of The Birds sent me "They Wake", a fantastic song from his new free EP, Fugitive Works . Jon Rooney is the artist behind Virgin Of The Birds, and he has released a bunch of EP's for free from his label Abandoned Love Records . "They Wake" is a song that will distill your heart of all pain and suffering from the past week, and replace it with love and joy. It's a warm compassionate song that is doing me tons of good right now. Try it out below, and download [...]
![[new] Arctic Monkeys – Brick By Brick](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3255171_lg.jpg)
Woah, what a pleasant surprise. Didn't expect to get a new Arctic Monkeys song today. The band posted a new song called "Brick By Brick" today on their youtube channel, a complete surprise to the entire world. The band has once again proven why they're my favorite band. They have taken their sound to an entirely different level. It's sounds to me like they've taken the sound on all three of their previous albums and created a sound way ahead of their years. The band have come a long way, and "Brick By Brick" is proof of this. [...]
![[new] Wild Beasts – Albatross (Radio Rip)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3253163_lg.jpg)
As I posted yesterday , Wild Beasts new album Smother is coming out May 10th via Domino Records . Frank from Listen Before You Buy has a radio rip of the album's first single, "Albatross", which was played by BBC Radio One. It's actually a great rip. The band puts everything on full display here, giving room for the bruised vocals. The vocals sound haunted and cold, a perfect partner in crime for the atmospheric backdrop that the band creates musically. It's a breathtaking listen that may take a toll [...]

The Morning Benders took Ra Ra Riot's "Too Dramatic" and gave it a proper remix. It's gushing with oohs and ahh's playing way towards what a perfect moment would sound like. Hit play and relax the mind. That's what this one's all about: [mp3]: Ra Ra Riot – Too Dramatic (The Morning Benders Remix)
Blake from Arctic Monkeys US has pointed out that amazon has added about 10-12 seconds to Alex Turner's Submarine EP preview clips that they've posted. Given it's not much, but it's certainly more than we had yesterday. You can head here to listen to them, or check out this video below where AMUS combined them all into a handy clip with scenes from the Submarine film. Waiting for this EP is torturous, but it's certainly going to be well worth the wait.

I'll take great guitar rock over any other type of music any day of the week. A great guitar song that has pop tendencies, good riffs, and a sunny melody can't be beat. If your like me, then I think you're going to love Betty Airs . They're a four piece from Sydney, Australia who have just released their debut EP, Creepin' It Real . It's four songs of near perfect guitar rock that wouldn't have gotten lost in the '50s. The melodies and harmonies are soaked with feel good sunshine. If you don't like these [...]

The Dodos have given Hype Machine the exclusive rights to stream their new album, No Color, which doesn't come out until March 15th.I haven't had the time to listen yet, but I'm sure it's another great addition to their discography. Stream it below, and let me know what you think: No Color (Hype Machine Exclusive) by thedodos
On May 10th, Wild Beasts will release their new album, Smother , via Domino Records . This is the much anticipated follow up to their acclaimed 2009 debut, Two Dancers. The album was recorded in East London and Wales, with production duties shared by Richard Formby and the band themselves. The press release describes Smother as "An album of intense atmosphere, space and beguiling rhythm, Smother is formed of ten songs, which linger in the memory, each track pulsing with sensuality." Sounds pretty damn good, if you ask me. The [...]
