Mossip is no longer active anymore and will never be. Why? let's see... 1. I started off the blog a year and a half ago with a totally different music taste. MOSSIP's name came from Music + Gossip in one word. So basically half the site was mainstream/pop music and the other half was a celebrity blog. Well, this blog is totally different now and does not relate to its name anymore. 2. I needed change. 3. I was losing visitors. I got to be honest, I was losing a lot of visitors gradually [...]
Brooklyn's very own Dirty Projectors debuted their very first tv performance yesterday night on David Letterman , performing "Cannibal Resource" . I was very lucky to catch them live a couple months ago and highly recommend going to their shows.
Madonna has a reason to celebrate, which is why she is releasing her greatest hits album containing 36 of her hit singles including the about-to-be-hit "Celebration" . This video looks pretty good and the ediitng is amazing, however it looks really low budget. They could've added a little more something than just a black and white background to it. However the video edit of the song is so much better than the original in my opinion. Cameos in this music video include Madonna's own daughter Lourdes and Brazilian boy toy Jesus Luz . [...]
Interesting! Never thought something like this would happen soon. Saks.com and Marc Jacobs basically teamed up with Chairlift and provided free outfits for them to basically promote in their new little music video/advertisement " Planet Health ". I freaking love Marc Jacobs so that must've been cool. I'd wear every single thing in that music video! In a way I wish the video wasn't them standing in a spot playing music but more of them fooling around and having fun.

You may have noticed the slowdown of posts lately, but don't worry, we have a huge surprise coming up! (we can't say yet) Here at Mossip you might have noticed a couple of concert reviews popping up, and interviews as well. We don't pay our writers (I wish I could!), but instead I try to reward them with free concert tickets, press passes, and possibly even an interview with the band or artist. (depending on where you live) I am currently looking for a few more talented writers who would like to join the Mossip team! [...]
Here is a new single from the " Where the Wild Things Are " Soundtrack. A light-heated piano rift is backed up by a start and stop guitar hook and some off key singing by children. The song is fun and catchy and feels like a playful jaunt through this land of imagination. All the lyrics are sung by what sounds to be kids, except for backing vocals by Karen O , From the Yeah Yeah Yeah's . Also she is accompanied by a large of amount of impressive artists with lots of talent that will [...]

Finally, some new material from From , an indie pop sensation hailing from Beverly Hills. I've actually been hoping a song by them would be released soon, and here is an awesome Beastie Boys cover they did in French, titled " Fight For Your Right ". " It’s both intimidating and fun to take on the Beastie Boys, so we made sure our version is very different from the original. It's in French, for one. We replaced the Deep Purple-style guitar riff with a New Order sound, layered a fuzzed out synth on the 4/4 beat of [...]

Okay, so we might all agree that Calvin Harris' latest album 'Ready For The Weekend' was not the best we heard of him, but that did not stop him from doing what he does best - making hot remixes. Here we have Shakira's "She Wolf" remixed by Calvin Harris, and he definitely knows how to throw a party on - it's one of the best remixes of Shakira's latest single. Shakira - "She Wolf" (Calvin Harris Remix) [...]

DJ AM (a.k.a. Adam Goldstein) survived a horrible plane crash about a year ago, but this time he was not so lucky. DJ AM was found dead in this morning in his Manhattan apartment. While no official cause of death has been realeased, drug paraphernalia was found in his apartment. Not too much is known right now. It is horrible to see a young talent like him gone. Him and Travis Barker helped fill up my iTunes with some good songs. RIP.
Electro-hip hoppers LMFAO have released the video for " La La La " which features the girls from the Parasido Girls . I'm not really into them that much but they have a lot of catchy tunes.

The second single off of Miranda Lambert's forthcoming sophomore album Revolution (due out Sept. 29th) is a cutting alt. country/rock song that is this week's Billboard Country Charts Hot Shot Debut bowing at #50. Rolling Stone's September issue feature's "White Liar" as one of their Hot List picks of the month: "Don't mess with Texas cutie Lambert - on this twangy tow-step she catches her man creeping 'with a redhead named Bernice.' It's a little bit country, a little bit rock & roll, and a little bit Jon and Kate. (That dude is a douche [...]

PHOTO: Backstreets.com "Where the f*ck is Mansfield?!" howled Bruce Springsteen as he greeted an ecstatic Massachusetts' audience on the second night of his weekend at the Comcast Center. A one-two-three combo, consisting of "Night," "Badlands," and "Out in the Street," was a knockout opener that exploded with all the fury and power that Bruce & the E Street Band could offer. The intensity was a constant theme through the show. During "Outlaw Pete," Bruce refrained the "Can you hear me?" line, but the crowd was already listening from the very first chord. [...]

With a band name like Hockey , you would automatically presume they come from Canada. This is wrong; the rising band Hockey hails from Portland! They already have one of their singles featured on a JC Penny commercial, and now they're releasing the music video to their latest single, "Song Away ". Their debut album ' Mind Chaos' is being released 10/06 via Capitol Records. Hockey - "Song Away"

I have heard of the buzz around Brandi Carlile before, but never really listened much to her music. "Dreams" is her first single off of her upcoming third album "Give up the Ghost" due out Oct. 6th. Her voice and music has an old school vibe to it, and the grit in her voice is authentic, gritty, and unique. I always am a sucker for a voice with that built in passion that you can feel the minute they sing a lyric. Try it out for size, I kinda dig it. [...]

Yes! Hellogoodbye is back, I've had this for a few weeks and have had in my current playlist but haven't yet posted it. If you loved their jam "Here In Your Arms" that was out a few years back, this is in the same vein. It's catchy, fun, and light...even if I don't understand why a majority of the song revolves around his girl's haircuts. Hellogoodbye - "When We First Met"
2 days ago Amy Winehouse appeared randomly at the V Festival, singing a planned duet with The Specials during their act. She belted out some lines to " You're Wondering Now" . This is her first (good) live performance in over a year, as she managed to have a 'comeback' show during a Jazz festival in St. Lucia in May, but stormed off the stage angrily in the middle of her set thinking she was boring the audience, and she was forgetting lyrics. Online [...]
I posted about Spiral Beach a while ago about their song "Dominos" . Now they have released the music video for it via Pop Matters . Their new record "The Only Really Thing is being released on September 22nd. Spiral Beach - Domino Download

Written about the breakup of her and Jessica Harp of "The Wreckers," Michelle's first solo country single since the breakup is fun and catchy, reminiscent of her earlier career foray in the pop world. Michelle has said in recent press that the break-up of the popular duo opened a door of creativity that fueled her upcoming album which "Sooner or Later" will be featured on. Get it after the Jump: " Michelle Branch - Sooner or Later "

Whitney's first single is the most added this week at Top 40, written by Alecia Keys and produced by Swizz Beats...Her album, "I Look To You" Drops next week Mon Aug. 31st. What do you think? I still think there is something off about her voice? Stay away from Crack kids! " Whitney Houston - Million Dollar Bill "

Humorously named Dizzee Rascal recently announced the release of his new EP " Tongue N' Cheek ". I figured this would be coming in a short while when the single " Bonkers " was released only a short time ago, too. In the song, the Rascal partners up with the House techno producer Armand Van Helden for a trip through the life of Dizzee Rascal . He explains everything from what he does from the moment he wakes, to loving sex and violence. It's an interesting mix, i like the [...]
