"Love, peace and soul." Don Cornelius would sign off with those words after every episode of his famed dance/music program "Soul Train," and now the television show host and producer is dead. On Wednesday morning (February 1), Cornelius was found dead in his Sherman Oaks, California, home with a gunshot wound to the head, TMZ is reporting. Killer cross over Funk tune from C.B. Overton. Superstar Lady is the tune on this 45 on SHOCK record. It's rare I get a chance to play this tune, but recently I've noticed people respecting the 70s genre and straying from the Bee Gee's Disco stereotype. One of the most underrated synth pioneers in soul/pop music is Ronnie McNeir. McNeir conceived a highly individualistic approach to music synthesis over the course of three albums and one EP. Hyperkentic (broken chord) jazzy synth-bass lines, churchy organ, multi-note piano chords, and sinewy high and mid-range ARP solo lines weave in and out of the mix while McNeir supplied all the vocals and acoustic drums.
