The dreamy indie pop band from Baltimore Maryland recently a new joint from their iTunes Sessions EP. They sound different when their sound is recorded live compared to the original album. And the expanded live lineup depicts a fresh sound from them. If you don't want to buy the songs twice, you might want to check out Beach House's new iTunes Sessions EP . The band delivered reworked versions of five songs with addition of a new one: "White Moon", which you can stream below. It features new versions of "Walk in the Park", "Norway", "Silver [...]

Chillwave artist Toro Y Moi who I recently reviewed has a new video released for the hazy lo-fi track Low Shoulder. The video, directed by Chris Murdoch and Elisha Smith-Leverock, highlights a girl in a diner chugging coffee only to fall asleep. Then she wakes up in a nightmarish setting where things take a turn for the worse. Not exactly chillwave material? Wait till you see the twist at the end (oops). ♫ Toro Y Moi - Low Shoulder ♫ Toro Y Moi - Blessa [...]

Florrie Arnold originally from Bristol, UK, is a drummer, singer and songwriter. The emerging British pop sensation has been making the right moves in her infiltration of the music scene playing some premium pop as the drummer in Xenomania house band JFK, and also performed drums on Girls Aloud's "The Promise." Florrie, who still is 21 years young, released free downloads of her music track in her site , along with a Fred Falke remix of her song " Call 911 ". Since that time, Florrie released several remixes of her songs "Call 911" and "Panic [...]

Columbia University's all-female a cappella group Bacchantae covers Ben Folds's arrangement of Dr. Dre's classy love song, "Bitches Ain't Shit." YAY or NAY? Filed under: music , Music Video

A lot of you have been waiting for this, well here it is. Below is the music video for arcade Fire's track, "Ready To Start" off their currently released album The Suburbs (which is currently leading at number 1). The unflagging glory seekers' live concert footage from a recent show in London is featured in the video. And when the slow motion starts the supreme epicness of it all reigns. This got me thinking on a few things I am enamored with when it comes to Arcade Fire, but most of all their outraged vitality and how their music always [...]

GRACIE MAGEE People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. [...]

We are about to have our Sportsfest here in my university and due to my unfortunate incapability to play any sport without putting myself in hazardous condition I am left useless and thus, a propsman for dancing competitions. Well, I used to do volleyball/baseball competitions but shit, I couldn't keep up with my schedule so, here I am. Anyway, to cope up with ALL THIS FREE TIME, I had this little idea of putting some indie tracks up against new rhythm and blues/rap tracks that are hits in local and national radio stations... Let us see who wins! [...]

![[FEATURE] The Arms Akimbo](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2811746_lg.jpg)
The Minneapolis group, which is probably off a Norse expression for something bent into a curve. Though these guys are virtually unheard of, they were actually formally established in the spring of 2009. The Arms Akimbo , formed by members Nick Schaser and Ian Schaser and Chris Dillon knew each other a decade beforehand and played together throughout the Twin Cities, as The Serfs. After the group disbanded in 2005, bassist and singer Nick moved to the UK, playing in London-based Brit pop band, Jack Maggs. After three years of living out of a backpack and [...]

Noran Bakrie An 8 minute house track for y'all with a mashup of every chronic indie fan's fave - Vampire Weekend's Ottoman and some Kid Cudi. ♫ Kid Cudi & Johan Wedel - Whenever Cudder Is Back (Johan Wedel Re-Touch) Filed under: music , remix

Here's a haunting track from crooner Sia from Twilight Saga's Eclipse soundtrack. These people really know how to get the press going despite the unfortunately predictable run of the story. The soundtrack for the 3 movies from the book series have been gorgeous, so expectedly we will see another good one to outdo the previous. I am in love with practically all of her music, and the collabs/mashups/remixes featuring her tracks are sumptuous. (Check out her version of Madonna's " Oh Father " and the Diplo remix of Clap Your Hands). ♫ Sia [...]

KALLE GUSTAFSSON Alternative rock icon Sparklehorse demise was untimely. A few months prior to his death, Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse) recorded and album with Danger Mouse and producer Davin Lynch which is entitled Dark Night of the Soul . The album features collaborations with a myriad of artists including James Mercer of The Shins, The Flaming Lips, Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Frank Black of the Pixies, Iggy Pop, Nina Persson of The Cardigans, Suzanne Vega, Vic Chesnutt (another influencial musician who had a tragic death last [...]

Photo In one way, I suppose, I have been "in denial" for some time, knowingly burning the candle at both ends and finding that it often gives a lovely light. But for precisely that reason, I can't see myself smiting my brow with shock or hear myself whining about how it's all so unfair: I have been taunting the Reaper into taking a free scythe in my direction and have now succumbed to something so predictable and banal that it bores even me. Rage would be beside the point for the same reason. Instead, [...]

This lo-fi shoegaze Canadian group, Women, makes songs are unpretentious. Possibly one of the reason's why I like it so much was because one of it's members is Chad VanGaalen. This blog isn't reputable as others so I guess my opinion doesn't have that much value. But hell, with Eyesore as the first single off Public Strain , I have a feeling the album will look/sound good once it comes out. P.S. Women is possibly the most un-Google-able group in music history. ♫ Women - Eyesore ♫ [...]
![[FEATURE] Sunday Girl](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2775279_lg.jpg)
5 months too late I am on throwing compliments on Sunday Girl , but better late than never, eh? Heard her music 2 months ago but with all the new music and remixes coming in, I forgot to post about her and while I was working on the blog my iTunes was on random and played her cover of Laura Branigan's Self Control and I just had to know who this voice behind the cover was. And then came Sunday Girl! UK has always have a lush breed of artists from [...]
Everybody's getting a hang of having odd looking creatures featured in their videos. It started with Yeasayer 's " Madder Red " (which also starred the lovely Kristen Bell). Not MGMT gets in the bandwagon in their video for their single Congratulations off their album of the same name. The creature in the video accompanies the MGMT duo and along the way falling apart piece by piece. Plus with the sad flow of the song it all adds up to the cheerlessness of it all.

Hercules and Love Affair architect Andrew Butler mentioned of the new Hercules album " Blue Songs " to be made public next January. Yeah, we have to do a little more waiting for that. But since he has a lot of free time, he made himself busy with projects like MR. INTL , his new label. Andrew Butler plans to make MR. INTL a medium to release music reviving classic dance music. Interesting idea, yeah. Below you can stream the first of from the album, the seven-minute house jam [...]
