Saw this in a Sony Bravia ad, just had to share since it combines my love with The Knife and one of my favorite songs by them...classic! José Gonzalez covering (acoustically) The Knife's....Heartbeats

La Roux (pronounced /laˈruː/ ) is a British electropop synth duo band made up of singer Eleanor "Elly" Jackson, and synth player, co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid. Jackson describes their respective roles as "very much a half and half sharing situation... not like a singer producer outfit", but also recognizing that it often can "look like a solo act". Their music is influenced by 1980s synthpop including Yazoo , The Human League , Heaven 17 and Blancmange . Need I say more? [...]

Phoenix is a French alternative rock band started during their childhood by Thomas Mars, Deck D'Arcy, Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Brancowitz in the suburb of Versailles , in the same culture that produced late-'90s bands such as Air and Daft Punk . Much thanks to the anonymous source that sent me this song, it's a step in the right direction and can also be heard in what looks like my favorite movie of 2009, "New York, I Love You".

What happened to the music scene? I have to be looking in the wrong places...where is all the good music? Do you know of a band, a website or a freakin' SONG that is rocking your world lately? If so, please , just post the name of it, that's all, I don't want the file, etc., I just need confirmation that there's still good out there in the music universe. Right there where it says "Leave A Comment"...post it there, be anonymous, who cares? Let me tell you what to [...]
Ok, so I've been thinking about what to post next, I really regretted not doing a "best of" 2008 and stuff, I did make a list and will probably post it soon (nothing like being half a year late), but feel I need to get this off of my chest first.. Let's see, first things first...why haven't I posted in forever? Well, truthfully, this blog started feeling like more of a "job" than anything, it was losing its charm and appeal. I would struggle to find that balance of music I sincerely liked/loved, write something decent and lastly, [...]
What do you think? Should I? You miss me? Let me know in the comments or via email then.

Never heard of this NYC trio? Neither had I until I happened across their music from one of the many great sites in our blogroll over there. From what I can tell, Holy Hail consists of Cat (vocals/keys), Kevin (vocals/guitar) and Michally (bass). Since this music is more in the dance/electro vein, there's no drummer of course, but in some pics I do see a 4th member, maybe the pics are old or something? It's been a little harder than usual to dig up info on Holy Hail. Musically, they have [...]

I love bands with a neat backstory to their name, the fact that they're from Brooklyn only adds icing to the cake! The group consists of Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard), and Heather D'Angelo (vocals/drum machine/keyboard). Forster and Hart became friends while traveling by train from Vermont to New York. Their "official" website is one of the best I've seen, be sure to check it out. Here's a news snippet from their site: " We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of REVERSE MIGRATION, a collection of our [...]

Kanye released yesterday his 2nd single of 808s & Heartbreak in . It is the second track that was leaked into the web, “Heartless”. I'm feeling Kanye on this new stuff! Radiohead frontman, Thom Yorke releases Barack Obama celebration song! Check it out here! I'm also feeling this new Wavves track, "So Bored", loving the rip-off Natas graphics as well! Catchy, lo-fi garage is how I would [...]

If you're an Obama supporter as I'm sure many of you are, then you have to be a happy camper like the majority of the country! I'm going to leave the political talk to the million other sites out there doing it now, although, I do have to say, I love this poster: In any case, let's celebrate with some Kanye mashups. Why? I dunno, b/c we CAN! Oh, and if you haven't seen Justice's "A Cross The Universe" yet, you're missing out big time, this is one to own asap! Here's the trailer in [...]
