CentryLink Field rocks even when it's empty! Very rarely do I get to mix my two passions: music and the Seattle Seahawks . Sure, I've made draft day playlists , but unless I'm writing about the Craig Terrill Band , I usually must post about one or the other. However, thanks to Jimmy Diebold and his directorial magic, he's found a way to incorporate both in an amazing stop motion video, personifying CenturyLink Field to the backdrop of M83's "Midnight City".* [...]

Kid Amnesiac Edition A while back, I did a little write-up for my version of Kid Amnesiac . For those unfamiliar, the name explains it all: Kid Amnesiac albums are combined versions of both Radiohead 's Kid A and Amnesiac . Since both LPs were products of the same recording session and were released only eight months apart from each other, Kid Amnesiac mixes serve as a way to take two great albums, trim away some of the lesser strong [...]

![[new music] Vacationer - Gone EP](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4035494_lg.jpg)
Need a vacation? If you can't spare the vacation days for a tropical getaway, you should hear what my travel agent has to say. It'll only take three songs of your time, and after you've heard his sales pitch, you'll have no need for travel. At first he'll tell you all about the "Trip" you'll be taking, and then he'll explain that there's "No Rules" to worry about. After listening to all the details, you'll feel as if you've already "Gone". Probably too cheesy, but don't let that keep you from checking [...]

Folksy Edition This week's Hump Day Power Play draws inspiration from the gentle picks of the banjo, the soft puffs of the harmonica, the crunchy strums of the guitar, and the campfire howls that make up the indie folk genre. I really have a hard time classifying this style of music, and I feel that "folksy" is a misnomer. If anyone has a better name to describe this playlist, I'm open for suggestions. However, improperly named or not, it shouldn't hold you back from enjoying this week's playlist. Enjoy, and [...]

His debut LP, entitled Fear Fun , is set to release via Sub Pop on May 1. Compared [...]

Dan Boeckner Edition Last week's Power Play featured a playlist of songs from musicman Spencer Krug. It only seemed fitting to make this week's themed around his colleague and music-mate, Dan Boeckner . The yin to Krug's yang, Boeckner split vocal roles in the band Wolf Parade, offering a contrasting style and sound that allowed WP to explore different soundscapes. Boeckner also made sweet music with his wife Alexie Perry and delivered some incredible work as Handsome Furs. If you really want to delve [...]
Worlds Collide Late last year, Plants and Animals performed Wolf Parade 's "I'll Believe In Anything" during their Live from Breakglass session at Breakglass Studios in Montreal during the Pop Montreal Festival. Check it out! Also of note, P&A are set to release their follow-up to La La Land later next month. The End of That will hit shelves February 28 .

White Rabbits are back! The White Rabbits have just announced news for their third studio album, entitled Milk Famous (cover art shown). The much anticipated LP will drop March 6 , and from the sounds of their newest single "Heavy Metal" (download below), the band continues to evolve in sound. Produced by Mike McCarthy (long-time Spoon producer), the Spoon-esque influence is apparent in the minimalist jammer, complete with dance-beat grooves, falsetto vocals, sporadic layers of distorted guitar, and electronic piano melodies. [...]

Spencer Krug Edition Spencer Krug is one of the hardest working and most prolific indie songwriters of this era, establishing musical acts that include Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake, Frog Eyes, Fifths of Seven, and Moonface (not to mention the Two-Tonne Bowlers). Notably, his solo work from the Sunset Rubdown EP contains the song "Three Colours", the very song that lends its name to this blog. Today's Hump Day Power Play features songs from the tortured genius that is Mr. Krug. What I've always found so interesting [...]

Not another Year End List Well, the year of 2011 is officially over, and it's that time of year again to make lists. I never understood the release of "Year End Lists" before the end of the year, so hopefully the late December LPs were given a fair chance to make it on here. So, like every year, Three Colours has compiled its very favorites of the year and have presented them below. In our opinion, here's the best music of 2011 . [...]

New-Year-Spoon Edition Lately, I've been on a huge Spoon kick, and I can't stop listening to one of the best indie rock bands of our time. So in the spirit of Wednesday, I give you a Spoon/Britt Daniel-inspired Hump Day Power Play . Sadly, Spotify does not have any Drake Tungsten or Skellington to choose from. Nevertheless, happy new year! Hear it by simply clicking here . Playlist is below. [...]
![[mp3] Lord Huron - "Auld Lang Syne"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3956023_lg.jpg)
Happy New Year from Lord Huron! Last new year, Lord Huron released a very special holiday cover of "Auld Lang Syne". With the coming of the new year, I'd like to share (via ForceFeld PR ) the beautifully crafted renditition of one of my favorite holiday songs. Enjoy, and happy new year!

Year-End Edition With the end of 2011 wrapping up, we are smack-dab in the middle of Year-End List-o-mania. Three Colours ' Year End List is soon to drop (check back in a few days), so I thought this Wednesday's Hump Day Power Play should feature songs from the best albums of 2011, as this will be the last HDPP of the year. Enjoy, and happy new year! Hear it by simply clicking here [...]
Women Kick Ass Lana Del Rey 's debut album Born To Die is out next month (January 30 via Interscope), and she's been sharing some of the tracks that are album-bound. Check out the video above for "Off To The Races", which features video clips of ladies kicking ass and taking names later. Speaking of Del Rey, she'll make her national television debut on January 14's Saturday Night Live . Don't miss it.
New music from the xx Back in 2009, the xx dropped their debut album on my unexpected ears and completely blew me away. Earning honors in the top 3 LPs of 2009 and unofficially winning "Rookie of the Year" titles, the South London trio have treated us (via their blog ) with holiday cheer by giving us all a sweet xx-mas present. Feast your ears on this slow, softly sung demo below, and get pumped about the idea of a new xx album in the distant future. [...]

Holiday Edition This will be the last playlist before the holidays, so I thought I'd put together an appropriately themed Hump Day Power Play . Hopefully everyone makes it home safely to their holiday destination this break, and perhaps this playlist will bring some extra cheer? Again, you need Spotify to listen to it. Hear it by simply clicking here . Playlist is below. [...]
