Although the compilation is current available in the U.S. (for whatever reason), J. Period's brand new G.O.O.D. Music: Remixed & Unreleased features this Kanye West and Consequence cut, "Hold On." It's a short track, so there's nothing extraordinarily huge here, but it's Kanye and good production so you should be on board.

Combining two unhinged forces - Los Angeles chaos-rap outfit Clipping and the drum apocalypse that is Foot Village - and we have a more blistering version of "This Song Is A Drug Deal." Brooklyn's Small Black are back after a near three-year layoff from its debut LP New Chain . Akron/Family member Mike Seaton, upon revealing details of the band's newest LP, spoke candidly about the direction of the songs with SPIN . " A lot of this contemporary pop stuff, this 1930s, panning for gold, bow tie stuff like the Lumineers, it's very heart on the sleeve," he says. "But they're telling someone else's story." It's a direct jab at the current wave of Grammy-winning folk revivalists, whose biggest critique is their overwhelming profound vagueness. And with Akron/Family's new album Sub Verses , out April 30 via Dead Oceans [...]
