Well new Bloc Party album. It's really good. I already love it after my first listen. It's really succesful at its attempt to blend the different aspects of the music that Bloc Party have made previous to this. These new songs remind of both 'Silent Alarm' and 'Weekend in the City' and that's good. It shows maturity too, they haven't opted out to produce an album of Flux-alites, that song became very popular and this shows that it was just a creative springboard into this amazing album. They're not isolating their oldest fans [...]
It's gcse results time! Today I'll be getting them and hopefully fun times will ensue! It's gunna be funfunfun, as I've said to a friend there will be crying and booze whatever the outcome. Also it will be FUN. Here's a song to get in the party-ing mood! LCD Soundsystem - Daft Punk is Playing at my House And a couple of related in some way songs Radiohead - The Headmaster Ritual (Smiths Cover) Scarlett Johansson [...]
There was a boom of singer-songwriters a couple of years ago, the undeniably pants James Blunt really brought that about but there always have been amazingly good singer-songwriters. Like Willy Mason. He's just amazing, each song of his I think I really do enjoy. Willy Mason - When the River Moves On Willy Mason - Save Myself I'm liking more and more, the individual indie types. For instance Conor Oberst's new album is actually rather good, I listened to it and latched on pretty quick, I did [...]
I work in Wickes now bludz pretty fun time I've been having so far, ok well not FUN per se, but better than my expectations and it's both good pay and a good working environment. Let's give out some moooooosik The Futureheads - With Every Heartbeat Don't like the original but was pleasantly surprised by this, it's a good cover, listen to it, the Sunderland-boys vocals sound better than Robyn's whine. Monkey (Damon Albarn) - Monkey's World Impressed by the BBC olympic opening [...]
I like Metronomy, quite a fair bit. Funnyily only started listening to them recently and I've been really impressed with most of the output that I've been able to listen to. Now I've heard the album and it's good, very consistent throughout in keeping with the same sort of sound and electric beat. After the intro, I'd prefer to say that The end of you too is the opening track, it's better me thinks. Well it sets a nice standard for the rest of the album Metronomy - The end of you [...]

Ahhh man, a mate of mine told me Be your own Pet broke up! We were talking about Reading and he mentioned that it would be his last chance to see them and I was like WTF! Well I really like them, such a fresh, raw sound I thought and as an amazing bonus I think Jemina Pearl is probably the most attractive front-woman ever! Sooooooo hot! Also there's a Nathan in the band and he also has a, dare I say it, magnificent afro like [...]
Ok well try to ignore the last two posts. I've talked to her and everything is all sorted now, we're remaining good friends. She did apoligise, there was a greater misunderstanding on my part, and I as much as I wanted it to be more, I don't mind us staying friends because, as much as I was upset I'd rather we stay friends and I would never want to throw that friendship away. I feel that I've been horrible in what I've written in the last two posts. A-polly-ology! Also become aware of other events at the [...]
Taking it's toll on me, that depression is. I'm still feeling shitty and really badly upset. Yeah she text me but how could i reply with no credit? The 2nd text sounded pissy, like she's the one upset. YEAH RIGHT. Try standing in my shoes! Not moaning at all but I just love it that she had to go and kiss some guy she met there, practically a stranger and it's even more ironic that all this would never have happened if I hadn't told my mate to invite her. It's like just trying to rub in the fact that [...]
meh my life's just taken a big u-turn, it seemed like it wasn't going foward and now I know why, she didn't want it to. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFUCKKKKKKKK! Thanks for messing me around! Building my hopes up and then just knocking me down! GREAT ONE! *Big thumbs up!!!!* Funny thing is, never felt this way about any one before and it never builds to anything yet this turn of events wrecks me inside badly. I'm not a happy bunny. Has all that time of mine been wasted? Doing nice things for her, buying stuff [...]
I was sent this a few weeks ago, forgot about it completely! I should be more willing to post up my submissions. Any way the band is the rudely named Fuck Dress from Norwich and this is their debut single; "Suburban Nietzsche Freak" Also a genuinely funny video that spoofs the best of the Radiohead videos To be perfectly honest, on first listen I didn't really like it alot, the vocals let it down for me, I wished they could perhaps sounds more angst driven, [...]
Thom Yorke's The Eraser My favourite album ever? I'm not sure but it comes pretty close. It's barrenly depressing though, which as a downside makes me love this album. Thom's vocals, the electronical sounds masterfully constructed to be incredibly beautiful music. It's depressing in a good way. Trust me! Well if you've never heard any of it, you need to, it's definitely in my opinion an essential album of the 21st Century. Maybe not comparable to Radiohead's best work. It sets Thom apart to show him as both a rather good musician and vocalist of a beautiful magnitude. [...]
listened to a song and realised its brilliance even though you may have heard it like a thousand times before? Well I may be exagerating there but I mean that hearing a song again after a long time re-invogitates it, makes it sound alot better than you thought it once. It's like listening to it for the first time again albeit with a sense of deja vu. >.< happens to me all the time. Right now, Arctic Monkeys - If you were there, Beware Killer of an opening [...]
I do like the hypem hearts system. You can see my profile favourites on the right hand side, it's a good way to hear new stuff if you're tracking people with similar taste. Like I'm following freddo92 amongst others and he has hearted a fair few songs that I now like alot. Thanks! Well here's a recent recomendation per se of his. We are Wolves - Magique Also I do love the hype machine to hear stuff I've never heard before and i heard this yesterday Conor [...]
Here's my 5 tracks for the week Devo - Whip It Ah this track is great, can't beat the original. There's something about it that I like, even though the lyrics are quite bizaare The Strokes - The End has No End Listening to alot of the Strokes and this is another one I like. Girl Talk - Bounce That Possibly my favourite Girl Talk song. It's just an amazingly perfect, daceable tune that has been constructed (or should I [...]
So surprised I haven't seen this blogged yet. Brilliantly superb cover version that dare I say it surpasses Coldplay's now sickening original! (I've heard like a million gazillion times through both radio and television) Just sit back, listen and enjoy! And that's an order! Pendulum - Violet Hill (Radio 1 Live Lounge) sidenote - all new links now on yourfilehost, they're direct!
I'm not ususually a fan of remixes, I normally prefer the raw track, I like to listen to it how the artist intended. BUT there are some out there that don't actually ruin the original tracks. Plus dancey/electro music has been creeping slowly much more into my listening habits. Thats pretty much because of Girl Talk. Though does his stuff count as a remix or a recycle? Like this ace track off of his old album 'Secret Diary' Girl Talk - I Want You Back Well here's one that I recently found [...]
Just a few things that wouldn't normally constitiute a whole article all spliced together. And 6 songs to go with them. Firstly, persuade Hype Machine to add me to the listings - click here and enter my URL: http://horrorshowtunes.blogspo t.com. Do it loads please! To get to myspace I normally search it in google. I noticed today that Barack Obama has myspace . Obviously its a way to "reach the kids" i can see the PR team talking about it now! I'd definitley vote for him, but I doubt that he really needs [...]

You may have heard that Jack White and Alicia Keys are doing a duet for the new bond film "Quantum of Solace". Now I think this sounds rather promising as long as Jack is given a bit of free reign to write something good, like that coke ad, that was a pretty good song. Well before I heard this announcement I thought I had already heard the best song to be used in a bond film and that is The Rascals - Bond Girl For those who [...]
