The other day I posted some songs using the same chorus: "Olé, Olé, Olé" . Today I have more tunes that put a twist on it and a link back to another previous posting... » Starting with the most recent first: Euro 2008 and the Swiss pop star/rave expert DJ Bobo. For the tournament he created a song to celebrate cash in on the events: [See post to listen to audio] » [...]
During the Euro 2008 tournament all the the fans chanted the "Woooah, Wooah Woah Woah, Woah..." the hook line from The White Stripes - 7 Nation Army . This trend actually started earlier but only came to recognition/gained mass popularity at the Finals. But there's another chant-like song which goes back, way back to who knows when. I tried to research and find out about the history and origins of this tune but everything led to a dead end. If you have some knowledge then post it in the comments. [...]
I wanted to post a mention about some other places (blogs) I visit when I'm not hanging around here. Now thanks to a couple of perfectly timed posts by them in the last few days I have a great F&M related excuse to do so. JC over at The Vinyl Villain added a couple of remixes a few days back. I am mirroring them here because they are only available for a limited amount of time. This one is also slightly related to my World Cup theme [...]

I told you he wasn't the messiah . It isn't clear whether he walked again or if he was pushed...sorry...mutually concented this time. But it looks like Ashley was to blame . Click on KK's nose to read up and listen to some previous F&M postings: I would welcome suggestions on a song to accompany this latest farce.

This is Part 1 of a World Cup themes post. Part 2 tomorrow later. "Ah Dennis glad you could make it. I have some good news ! England have won the bid to stage the 2018 World Cup and they want you to sell hot dogs outside of Wembley." There are some World Cup Qualifiers coming up this Saturday and the following Wednesday (Sept 6th/10th) - in relation to it I want to post some official theme songs from previous tournaments. - Note these are the [...]

» Time for another versus... This is an interactive post where you choose the winner. The last time we did this was with a compo between singing Middlesbore fans who did a song about their club. The final result went to Ewan Carmichael who won by a landslide . Today it is a battle of the punk bands. But not between your usual suspects. This one pitches a couple of punk acts from the continent against each other. Have a read of their bio, then listen [...]

The old Chelsea song Blue Is The Colour is probably one of the most well known footie/musical songs around. (There's a note for myself - research and post a list of the top five most famous footballandmusic songs.) There's been other fans who like singing it about their team, but every time it's reused it's always sung about another team also playing in blue. So you thought, but here are other colo(u)rs. Hello and thank you to [...]

Ah man this is perfect. Even though it's got nothing to do with them and the bands name is coincidental, the title of this track is the clincher. I've got to post it. I started this and wrote the above over two weeks ago, but because of me full time werk I haven't been able to get this one out there. Or any others actually. Give it a couple of weeks and hopefully have more time. In the meantime please bear with me. (Pretend that is a couple of days [...]

Via the NME: Babyshambles man commits cardinal sin at Liverpool gig Pete Doherty played a surprise gig in Liverpool last Friday ( August 8) - but upset much of the crowd after a choosing controversial setlist. Playing at The Studio - an Everton venue - Doherty launched into a version of Liverpool's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. But despite the crowd erupting into a chorus of boos and even throwing drinks at the singer, Doherty, a fan of Queens Park Rangers, still persevered [...]

I was saddened to read the following article via Soccernet this morning. Sir Bobby is a battler and I thought he would have won this one too. Sir Bobby admits defeat in battle against cancer Former England manager Sir Bobby Robson has admitted he will lose his battle with lung cancer 'sooner rather than later'. Robson has been battling a fifth bout of the illness and has accepted doctors' prognosis that he is unlikely to beat it. Speaking to The Sun, he said: [...]
My full time werk is keeping me away from here. I'll try to post something when I can. Today's post needs your involvement: The gossip/paparrazi website TMZ.com has Derek and Skeletor on their radar since they moved to La La Land, but recently Mr C.Ronaldo went over to L.A for a holiday and this caught TMZ's attention and they were less than complimentary ... Honestly when you have nearly all the attention because of the uncertainty [...]

« Now here's an American footie (soccer) player that you wouldn't have heard of. Jay DeMerit made it into English football, but not by the usual routes. Jay originally hails from an area in the USA that - sporting wise - is known for it's (American) football. Green Bay is cheese , is cheeseheads and is the Packers . With the gridiron football the Quarterback position is the equivalent of the captain of the team. He makes all the plays, he controls the game [...]
