Cementing their place atop the crest of the wave of new hip-hop visionaries, Applebird head honcho SPEAK! and Miami-based heatbringer SPACEGHOSTPURRP drop an epic collaborative cut from the latter's anticipated Trilluminatti EP. The Michael Uzowuru produced track (which clocks in just a bit over two minutes) finds the young guns doing what they do best; allowing listeners a small glimpse into the life of a goon through a hazy maze of clever references and smooth spitting. At long last, the smooth Steve Liriks produced single "Break It Down" off of the now-classic Wriot! gets its deserved due. In the all-too-literal music video, Pheo. does the dirty deed Murda Val style; marrying his masterful tongue-twisting with some Henny sipping and some Office Space -esque electronics destruction . One of everybody's favorite classic 90's hip-hop bangers by seasoned Queens, New York duo Mobb Deep was one shrouded in mystery, at least in the question of where it's beat originated from. The samples used in "Shook Ones Pt. II," a track widely considered as one of the best from the 'golden age' and universally agreed upon as the group's magnum opus, has recently been discovered. It's been a hot minute since the English dance-punk outfit Friendly Fires were blazing their way through the festival circuit and internet. Their 2008 self-titled debut album brought along with it much critical acclaim and a bevy of cute hipster girls dancing along to their upbeat ditties the world over. "Live Those Days Tonight" is the first single off of the band's upcoming album, Pala , serving as positive indication of the band's polished songwriting and at the same time, building on the sound that garnered them attention on the outset.
