East of LA's Jimbo Jenkins continues to stay on his DJ mix grind into the new year, with his new project "Dirty South Breaks".  On this mix, Jimbo fuses some of the most known Southern a cappella's with Hip-Hop breakbeats. Taking a page right out of the 802s revival / Drive retro book, one of the chillwave genre's flagbearers Neon Indian has teamed up with the wacky minds at Adult Swim to bring you his latest music video for swirly single, "Fallout." Cars, neon colors and big-bosomed women are at the forefront of the Knight Rider -ish animated visual accompaniment and, well, you have to witness the madness yourself to see how it all comes together.

When she isn't telling off the New York times or  flipping off millions of Americans during Super Bowl broadcasts, everybody's favorite Sri Lankan rapper/singer M.I.A. is probably doing something else to intentionally or unintentionally piss somebody off. Coming off of a decidedly lacking third release (20102s Maya ), the U.K.-based artist returns with the Danja-produced single, "Bad Girls," a cut originally off of her Vicki Leekx mixtape. This Saturday East of LA, The Coachella Valley Art Scene and UTB Life$tyle present "Trillwave Be The Motto," at Dillon's Roadhouse in Desert Hot Springs, CA. The venerable German music label Kompakt is recognized by many for their keen eye for boundary-pushing acts and electro-pop duo Walls are no exception. Last year's sophomore record, Coracle , is demonstrative of each member's eclectic musical backgrounds and tastes and somehow manages to paint an abstract picture of the collision of two eccentric minds. Fittingly, the music video for the record's opener, "Into Our Midst" falls into 'kooky' territory as well; archival footage of a pastry production line is looped over the sparse, house/techno-driven beat. Boundary-pushing publication and media group VICE teamed up recently with rising Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky to bring to life one of his seminal viral tracks, "Wassup." Deriving inspiration from a few of Rocky's favorite films (namely  Scarface , Belly , Enter The Dragon , The Warriors and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory ), the music video is a swirly jumble of drugs, women, excess and even Satanic symbolism and pairs exceptionally well with Clams Casino's instant-classic ethereal sound. Not much to say here. The latest collaboration between the out-of-this-world mafioso Future and Brick Squad 1017 president Gucci Mane is just another hood hit in the steady slew of Trap Back release cuts. The mixtape drops on February 5.

Preparing still for their sophomore effort, Reign of Terror , Brooklyn chaos bringers Sleigh Bells drops another track that seems to tie into the album's theme quite well. "Comeback Kid" shows a strong progression in instrumentation, Derek Miller struts his penchant for all things heavy metal with an in-your-face guitar refrain and As I Lay Dying -esque kick-drum breakdown. For Chilean-born, New York based producer Nicolas Jaar , the 2011 year was quite the momentous one. His critically acclaimed debut record Space Is Only Noise catapulted the 22-year-old minimal house virtuoso onto the ever-growing electronic scene and was an immediate best-of-year contender. "With Just Once Glance" is the artist's latest work and builds on the ambient, sparse sound that has so powerfully separated himself from the rest of the pack. Listen to the track below:
