So one thing is for sure, Eric Prydz's Pryda project is in full swing this summer. His new "Niton / Vega" EP hit beatport today and although I don't think it's as good as his previous "M.S.B.O.Y / The End" EP, it still gets the job done. "Niton" is more of your typical Eric Prydz sound/piano while "Vega" focuses more on softer melodies. Oh man is this one a banger. It's is another one of those tracks that reminds you of Bodyrox's "Yeah Yeah," which is never a bad thing. One of our favorite producers is back with a monster release. Deniz Koyu's "Lose Control" EP hit beatport yesterday and the Dave Darell remix is truly epic. In my opinion, Dave Darell sits atop the plateau of house music producers with Spencer & Hill and Dabruck & Klein. All of their productions are just on a whole 'nother level. Sidney Samson's Punkass/Panorama EP hit beatport yesterday and I'm loving the new production style. "Punkass" features less crazy dutch synths and more grimey bass. His remix of Erick Decks "Nasty" was released on Beatport today and lets just say it deserves some recognition. About two weeks ago the dub mixes were released so maybe the vocals weren't ready yet? Edmond Dantes' "I Don't Know" EP hit beatport yesterday and the Tune Brothers Remix blew me away. The breakdowns sound incredible... seriously incredible. You know the song is a keeper when the track drops and the vocals go perfect with the bass-line. I'm damn impressed. Don't ever fall asleep on Mike Morales, more commonly known as DJ Kue. The Northern California native has 15 years of djing under his belt and his productions have recently grown nothing short of stellar. His ability to flawlessly remix top40 tracks sets him apart from the rest of the bunch, catapulting him into the clubs and onto the radio. Here's Kaskade's brand new music video for "Fire In Your New Shoes," in my opinion one of the strongest tracks off of the Dynasty album. It's not the most interesting video (judging by the fact that it's entirely about women's fashion), but at least more dance music songs are getting music videos. The album debuted at #5 on iTunes and spent three consecutive weeks in the top ten, a clear indication of house music's sudden transition into mainstream. S.co and I are huge fans of the synth in this track. It's a perfect example of how simple yet effective a good track can be. Thee Anthem has arrived. The first time I heard this track I knew it would be large. Prydz let us knew it was coming with a teaser video of his version and Pete Tong previewed the Felix original on his weekly radio show. Both versions are similar, but Prydz took out the heavy bass-line and added some mellow sounds to make it more progressive. The arpeggiator he added to the beginning adds a nice touch to the track. It's been a while since I've been able to post a Calvertron track. He's fallen so deep into the world of fidget house production that I didn't think he'd ever find his way out. He finally has with his remix of DJ Bam Bam's "Watch The Club Go," adding new drums to the track and a progressive breakdown starting at 2:29.
