i have had an a cappella post in a long time. so here it is, some a cappella tracks that i have been listening to recently. trust me, they're all sung by humans and that it's 100% real. here are three male groups, three mixed groups and three female groups. hyannis sound - get set jmu exit 245 - lovestoned/i think she knows unc clef hangers - don't stop believin' [...]
beyonce is set to release her third full length studio album, " i am ... sasha fierce ," on november 18. although i think she is over-rated and tries too hard, i can't help but give her props on constantly pumping out hits after hits. her latest album, which pay homage to her alter ego, is just that. i orginally liked beyonce. i thought she was amazing during her " dangerously in love " era, but since then i just got so annoyed at her. this is why i hate that i like her some of her new material. [...]
on last night's ugly betty , there was a ton of great music being used throughout episode. most notably was the last track at the end when wilhelmina and betty were looking at the new york skyline. i did my research and found the track: " look " by sebastien tellier . sebastien is a french singer known to sing in a variety of languages: english, french and italian. his style is synthpop/r&b. "look" is off of his third album, " sexuality ," which he states, "is very electronic and like intellectual r&b, although not in [...]

this is why i love cnn (not because of my crush on anderson). fast forward to 02:49 for some hologram fun.
could the brooklyn based band, chairlift , be the new feist thanks to apple ? they definitely is on their way. their song, " bruises ," is currently featured in the 4th generation ipod nano commercial. once again apple creates an impressive advertisement campaign full of color and musical appeal. i can't help but hum the hook, "you, ooohh, for youuuuuu ohhh," whenever is see the billboard, commercial or magazine ad. chairlift - bruises
i've been search for some time what song was being used for the top chef: new york promo commercials. i finally found it: " the city is at war " by cobra starship . if you're not familiar with the band, cobra starship is based in new york city and falls into the genre of synthpop, alternative rock, and electro-fusion ... if those are even considered genres. "the city is at war" comes from their second album, " viva la cobra " and is a high energy track that basically is a mash-up of synthpop-rock-electro-fusion. [...]
" we all need saving " is one of my favorite tracks from jon mclaughlin's second full length studio album, " ok now ." the track begins a cappella with beautiful vocal harmonies. these harmonies, which grow throughout the the rest of the track, leave you breathless. they really are beautiful. " we all need saving " sounds organic and natural. there is no forced effort to sound a certain way. it's almost effortless. i 100% recommend buying this solid album asap. jon mclaughlin is a brilliant song writer, singer, pianist and arranger. he gets my approval. [...]
BoA is a korean pop star who is extremely popular in asia and she is set to take over the u.s. market very soon. she just dropped her first american single entitled " eat you up ." the track is produced by bloodshy & avant , the production team that brought us hits like britney spears ' " toxic ." this hard pumping track commands your attention. BoA - eat you up [on a side note, i may or may not have started [...]
ace of base is making a comeback. i'm not kidding around at all. the group is set to release their greatest hits album on november 10. the release will be kind of massive. here's why: the compilation will be a double cd + dvd that will include 16 of their hits, 13 classic remixes and all of their 17 music videos. and if that wasn't evenough the cd will include two new version of their songs "wheel of fortune" and "don't turn around." if you're a true ace of base fan, you must be wondering why there [...]

another moment of genius from kristen wiig as the lawrence welk show returns to snl .
sarah mclachlan is one of my favorite female artists. what got me hooked on to her music were he vocals. her voice is milky smooth and warm, which makes listening to her relaxing and stress free. she is set to release her greatest hits album, " closer: the best of sarah mclachlan " on october 7. it features all her hits from her first single, " vox ," to her latest, " world on fire ." the album also features two brand new tracks: " u want me 2 " and " don't give up on us ." both [...]
" not as we " is my favorite track from alanis morisette 's latest album, " flavors of entaglement ." it's a beautifully written and performed track that shows a vulnerable side of alanis. this sort of vulnerability, however, is gorgeous. the breaks in her voice come from geniune emotions. alanis brilliantly takes the listener on her journey from heartbreak to starting over to living again. alanis morisette - not as we
