Always difficult to find one image of Monsieur Tellier that perfectly summarises his style. Truth is, he is far to enigmatic and aesthetically stylish to succumb to one 'look'. Anyway... So ok, you've heard 'La Ritournelle' - with THOSE DRUMS, and THOSE LYRICS, and THOSE SYNTHS and you really liked the last few singles (Sexual Sportswear and Divine, and you saw his now peerless Eurovision performance ...but you still havent spent your £10 on his new album (shame on you), Are these mixes that have been floating around the web this week likely to change [...]

Somedays a kid needs a break from midnight london city bicycle rides and listening to beats - so occasionally we escape into something far more organic, emotive and comforting. Here with Miss. Emily Jane White who along with her acoustic guitar gives us far more than she receives. Reminded of the delightful Cat Power and Nick Drake . Tipped off by a certain Lucky Steve we can't stop listening to this at 88days. Suggested listening; empty souls, broken bones and self analysis. Emily Jane White - Wild Tigers [...]

I double dare you not to fall in love with the melodies. I treble dare you not to spend the rest of your day NOT humming back 'Where do you go'. Vivian Girls , combine classic girl group vocal harmonies with noisy, textured shoegaze dynamics, Vivian Girls are kinda like a meeting between Kevin Shields and Phil Spector over a cup of green tea, as filtered through the rawness of the riot grrl guitar stuff. Recommended listening; hoovering and playing kiss chase in barley fields. The Vivian Girls - Where [...]

So MGMT have done great things with their superb album this year (go find us a better song than 'Time To Pretend'- may I suggest going and grabbing another spoon and dipping it head to toe into the new Of Montreal record 'Skeltal Lamping'. Top ten album already for me. Expect this in EVERY end of year poll from East London to Japan. Please arise Of Montreal - we knight you with the award for best song titles for 2008 and the most extravagant and BEAUTIFUL artwork of 2008. Recommended listing: cider, [...]

We love Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music so much here at 88days that once I went to a party dressed as Bryan Ferry. And we love Lindstrom so much that, well, we've talked about that monorail journey to matter already... So hey, thanks Nightflight , I'd not heard this before... Avalon (Lindstrom & Prins Thomas Remix) - Roxy Music

Two of our fav art pop rock fuck up bands cover one another. I've been known to sit in a semi lite room with pints of cider shaking to the HolyFuck album, whilst i celebrated the birth of a new laptop to the Foals LP. Go on. Enjoy. order from Young Turks Foals 'Super Innit' and Holy Fuck 'Balloons'
Beautiful neo-classical euro disco with a real twisted knife feel . One of my favorite bands / movements (i mean, the stuff off Italians Do It Better). Heard this record when i walked in through Rough Trade at the start of the year. Amazing stuff. Just fucking beauuuuutiful. Recommended listening - 2am, city of London, good headphones, camera - chasing shadows. Wondering why beautiful girls never stay around for long [There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.] Buy here

So apparently super genius techno producer Trentemoller is involved in Denmark's latest electronic music export, Lulu rouge. Recommended listening, when you're sick of Burial, sex with your girlfriend sucks and you can't afford rent. Lulu Rouge (thanks To This Is Not A Joke) Lulu Rouge - Theme (feat. Trentemoller). Buy here. And oh yeah, hurry up and sort out some live dates.

In Brighton I listen to Radio 4, and I do the crossword and the sudoku, and as of today I get books out of the university library and read about how messed up the world is and all of the things we did to make it this way. Until the fuse for the light in my room goes, that is, and then there's none of that crossword/sudoku/reading. Just sitting by the window looking out at the brake lights of cars. ...and waiting for an electrician and listening to Idlewild and wishing I was nearer the M25... [...]

shit faced drunk and in love Band Of Horses - No One's Gonna Love You Go on . buy their album on Sub Pop.

88days decided to head to Fabric's new night Matter to indulge in the cosmic disco of Lindstrom last night - aside from an EPIC fail by the organisers (lets say painfully heavy and OTT physical security, unappreciative crowd and a total lack of atmosphere) we had a wonderful trip on the monorail and river boats at 3am. Lindstrom - Where you go I go too The album is epic wonderfullness and higly recommended - as is his [...]
Annie never seems to have much luck. 'Anniemal' was great. 'I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me' was good too. But no one ever buys the bloody things. Her second album's been pushed back again , all the way to next year, and no one seems to know why.....maybe she was so upset that someone stole her bike that she needed to rewrite the whole record based on that...... anyway - in the meantime she's been kind enough to send out her cover of 'Two of Hearts' by Stacey Q...for your listening pleasure. [...]

Electronic Explorations (amazing brilliant podcast for fans of Mary Anne Hobbs and electronic music in general) last week broadcast a 1 hour special on minimal / abstract and neo classical music on the verge of 2009. The stuff I adore and love and listen to in a coffee fuelled haze of creativity and thinking. Featuring the brilliant MURCOF , Deaf Centre , Fennez , Godspeed your Emperor , Distance and Tom Hecker. For me the only artist missing was GAS on Kompak t . Still. [...]
