New Music | DJ Mehdi A pretty haunting and moving mix in light of recent events. I was pretty gutted to learn of DJ Mehdi's death on Tuesday. He had a real talent. This Miike Snow mix is actually a couple of years old now, and is the epitomy of euro electro remixes of the time. Now we're flooded with dubstep, some incredible artists are taking a bit of a back seat, but I'm sure it's just a phase. In case you're still living in a hole somewhere and haven't heard about the Kitsune [...]

Goody gumdrops. One of my all time "HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS BAND" (or DJs, whatever) are Brazil's finest, The Twelves. They must be the most underrated DJ team of all time. Unlike Scott Parker who must literally be the most overrated footballer in the history of ALL sport. So, all in all, I'm pretty stoked at Kitsuné's latest club night at XOYO on October 14th . And Miami Horror! Live! I've got my ticket, and if you're not going then there must literally be something wrong with you, or you're busy. Which [...]
New Music | Skream | Sam Frank Absolutely love the Sam Frank tune on the Magnetic Man album, Boiling Water, but I think I even prefer this. In a way they are both really simple tunes, but that makes them really versatile and there are some killer remixes out there. I prefer it straight up, like my JD.
New Music | London Elektricity Oh hiya! Yeah been busy. So have you. Deal with it. Now you know on that incredibly rare occasion when someone covers or remixes a tune and it actually turns out better, well this is one of them. Those. Like Michael Jackson's version of Come Together, which I swear I've banged on about before at some point. What was always an awesome tune, London Elektricity's Just One Second is now he-aw-ge, thanks to Apex.
New Music | Nero Yeah Promises is awesome. And the Skrillex remix. But Guilt is where it's at, and i know you've heard it before but this album mix makes me a little bt euphoric. Wait for the middle 8 and check out the Blade Runner synths. Awesome. See you in Brighton .
New Music | Netsky My obsession with Hospital Records continues. If you don't already, go own the album . You need it, in a way. Anyway. Along with all the usual suspects at Global, Netsky stood out as a real gem, along with only a handful of others which we'll discuss later. The chord progression in Eyes Closed actually reminds me of the Nero remix of The Streets - In The Middle. So it's off to a good start, and keeps getting better.
New Music | Global Gathering No it's not an excuse to use the word extravaganza, it's Friday, it's Global Gathering, and it's time to follow some artists you don't already! So stay tuned and for christ's sake try to keep up. Find us on Twitter and/or enter our Twitter competition and/or go buy your Global ticket if you don't have one!

New Music Event | Electro Vs Dubstep Wars @ Koko Hosted by The Playground , Electro Vs Dubstep Wars promises to be another filthy night at Koko, on September 10th . With Steve Aoki (the man behind the absolutely insane Dim Mak label) headlining his only London show of 2011, electro doesn't come much tastier. Plus with some Modestep thrown in the mix and one of my favourite bands Does It Offend You, Yeah? it's almost too good to be true. But it is. Weird huh.
New Music | SKTRKT This weekend I shall attempt to grow up and not completely destroy my body at Global Gathering. To do this I shall have the help of the infinitely chilled out SBTRKT who will be performing on the Union stage on Saturday. Of course it may be too late by then. Looking at the Wax On lineup on Friday night, it's more than likely. However! Things could be worse, I could be staying in London. Back to subtract, or SBTRKT, if you've not heard the debut album then you [...]

I Break Horses | Hearts Hooray for Sweden! It's no secret I'm a sucker for a Scandinavian. And I Break Horses are no exception. Hearts is a gorgeous little tune, the video for which has some awesome cinematography. So awesome I'll even embed it for you, lazy surfers, so stay tuned below the fold.
New Music | Foster The People Well. With all the dubstep and dnb madness flying around right now let's take a step back and have a think about where we're going shall we. We can't smash it every night. So. Not that you haven't heard this, but Pumped Up Kicks is suchhhhh a good tune. Perfect for those sunny English summer days. And because it has 'kicks' in the title it reminds me of Teenage Kicks by The Undertones. And Teenage Kicks reminds me of John Peel. Which is always a good thing.
New Music | The Japanese Popstars So as the whole country seems to be taking a night off, including yours truly, I can't help but crack on some tunes, the pinnacle of the playlist so far being Let Go by Japanese Popstars. If you've not been welcomed into the world of the @JapStars, start off here then head off onto a wonderful journey of awesome new music including a superb album and some really strong remixes. Try a quick search on the Hype Machine and you'll find all you need for [...]
New Music | Skrillex | Nero And we're back in the room. Wow. What a weekend. What with a breathtaking performance from Flaming Lips at Ally Pally , then the Spectrum summer warehouse party at Ewer St Car Park, it was all a bit much. And here's the highlight of it all. Nero dropping the Skrillex remix of Promises was... emotional shall we say.

New Music | Retro/Grade I have to say Retro/Grade are one of the most exciting acts around at the moment. I've seen them twice so far, both times much further down the bill than they deserved, and I have high hopes for them. Check out the trailer for Mindfighter, the visuals for which are just as trippy as their live visuals, which completely blew my mind at the Dance Koko Dance event with Alex Metric. A strong track after the incredibly unique, groundbreaking track MODA. Oh, and, it's Friday!
New Music | UK Pop Punk's Not Dead Finally. Some guitars. Introducing a fine guest post from Mark Hooson on what's hot in UK pop punk! By Mark Hooson of www.poppunkbands.co.uk Pop punk isn't a genre that has flourished in the UK as it has in the US, maybe it's the sunnier climes of Florida and California that make America a better fit for pop punk music, or maybe we Brits are too cynical - but that could be about to change thanks to a spate of [...]
New Music | Photek Aviator EP or Avalance EP? I can't work it out. Aviator, I think. According to Rcrd Lbl at least . I'll trust em. Anyway, I've been into Photek for a loooong time, ever since Modus Operandi which has kept me company boosting it down black runs in the Alps many a time. Now the St Albans boy is back and with a tasty little cross-genre number that has a little '1' next to the 'Plays' column in my iTunes and is already up on NMB. Soon to be a [...]
New Music Festival | Global Gathering Oh wow. It's like someone put everyone NMB has ever posted in a big fat mixing bowl and stirred for 10 hours. And a bargain at.. £99 for the weekend ?! Global is, without a doubt, the not to be missed festival this year. So don't. Featuring : Pendulum | Steve Angello | Jaguar Skills | Annie Mac | Boys Noize | Rusko | Modestep | Skream & Benga | Kim Fai | Alex Metric [...]
New Music | Friendly Fires Have to admit I went a bit off Friendly Fires, after Standon Calling 2009. Their set was essentially their debut album, played on CD through some big speakers. Which got a little dull, not that it wasn't a great album. So we sacked it off and boosted it back down to London for a house party in Clapham. Back with new album Pala, and it's a real grower. I love this mellow title track... and so shall you! HARARRRRR
