hanging for an album from these dudes. this one sounds like a post-punk influenced animal collective. top shit.

cool new track from yeo. he’s dropped the guitar and headed back to the electro land, with this latest snack covered in gold… synths.

great new track from jessica says with emma russack. their voices compliment each other really well. kicking it lana del melbourne style

his track ‘working on a dream’ totally won me over last year, this new single moves in a slightly different direction but retains all the tropes that pulled me before. cascine + melbourne = bloodly beautiful bliss Halogen Moon by Wintercoats

been sitting on this remix ages. love how boulet lifts out the drums and whips your ears with them. amazing

some of the guys from the now disbanded parades. was a massive fan of their first album and of all the offshoots this one is the closest in terms of sound/style Waste Of Wine by Light Giant

montero is back with an ode to sadly fallen wheel of fortune host adriana xenides. so good, our answer to ariel pink?

jonny telafone makes weird beats down in the valley. you should probs checkem out. [MP3] Jonny Telafone - Doomed In Love [MP3] Jonny Telafone - Make Your Pussy Cum

with kid sam pretty much off the cards. kieran ryan is now doing a much fuller sounding solo thing. and well its amazing. missed his storytelling so much. the duet he did with jen cloher early in the year is also worth checking out .

one of the most hyped bands this year. you can kinda see why, this hazy laconic indie jangle is essentially 30% of every festival at the moment. it aint bad, and the production is more restrained than I was expecting.. its just kinda bland - though there is something underneath that gives me hope they might experiment a bit more.

first taste of the new band from little red’s quang. completely different and incredibly good. Fiction Tree by Naked Bodies Monkey Blues by Naked Bodies

some beautiful flitters in the sun from milk teddy, channeling the bats and television. its very 'melbourne' and heard a dude bitching in a record store the other week that it 'sounds like all the other slow-core stoner bullshit blogs post' cool description mate posting it just for you Secret by Milk Teddy Michael by Milk Teddy
inhaler is one of my favourite tracks this year. now comes the next single – my number – one hell of an earworm. this just wont get out.

black cab are imo one of melbourne’s best bands. they’ve been pushing into a more electronic direction working with tim from death in vegas. on this ep from a few months ago, you’ll find his amazing mix of last years single ‘combat boots’ as well as a ace new track ‘go slow’. can’t wait for the album Combat Boots (Tim Holmes mix) by Black Cab Go Slow by Black Cab

new dick diver. you need to hear this. such a great groove. I saw the triple j album of the year nominees yesterday and was shocked (should’ve known better than to look) at how bland it was. looking at that list it would seem australian music really struggled this year. how anyone can rate the releases from ball park music and the rubens (which are fine in a pfft/meh kinda sense) ahead of grand salvo, bearhug or lower plenty for instance on any sought of critical basis is bizarre. end of rant. anyway this [...]

this song. fuck its the best thing I have heard in ages. really liked their first ep, but this takes things to a whole new level. krautrocky, mixing spoken word samples (thus the name) with a post punk via british sea power kind of undertone. its just ace.
very odd video for a skanros single that came out early this year. even if you don't understand swedish its a nice gazing, reflective pop song. out through luxury.

great track I’ve been sitting on awhile; a great accompaniment for the beautiful spring the southern hemisphere is getting right now. sounds a lot like the breezy, chilled sound that you find on the west coast but its actually by a stockholm based duo. out on cascine [MP3] Ditt Inre - Månljus (saknad)
