wooh new jens lekman. pretty much the quintessential artist to post about given he’s swedish and lived in melbourne for ages (until he eventually got tired of our stupid immigration rules and left). this duet with melbourne’s own sophia brous is so incredibly beautiful you need to listen to it right now.

Sweet new tune from Palms ( original post here ). Produced again by Owen Penglis (Straight Arrows/Royal Headache). These guys can do no wrong. soooo good.

new tune form the embassy. swedish indie kids the world over rejoice. funky bass and xylophone tomfoolery equals dance magic
new project for conrad standish & tom carlyon from the devastations. this is a nice progression from their previous work. beautifully produced; vocals float over a haunting bass line. excited for more.

been following these guys a while now, really something quite special. hypnotic, spikey post-punk.

I was a huge fan of Life Without Buildings – who sadly disappeared all to quickly. Savages feel like their darker, heavier post-punk cousins. Its nice to hear a band actually drawing from influences rather than the blatant ripping that is becoming common place. Lead singer Jehn is also in brilliant folk-ish duo John & Jehn, so check them out too.

few months on this is still one of the best tracks this year. insanely good.

been a huge fan of jen cloher's for years. this track a duet with kid sam's kieran ryan is off an ep released earlier this year which you can pick it up from her website . both have albums due out later in the year. [MP3] Jen Cloher - Call If You Need Me (with Kieran Ryan)

with air france and studio both breaking up, west coast sweden seems to be losing its balearic balls. not to worry dan lissvik from studio is still pumping out amazing remixes like this one of all things hip Haim.

another couple cuts from the Jonathan Michell / A. Wallace split cassette. their making melbourne feel wistful and dreamy. posted about the first single back here . Moon by Jonathan Michell Civil War by A. Wallace

love this track. new band for radiohead producer nigel godrich with drummer joey waronker and singer laura bettison.

really liking these early tracks from new canadian group gold. melodic shoegaze that slips straight into the groove. there’s an ep out in june, dedicated to chris reimer, who drummed on these but sadly died in his sleep earlier this year… so buy this one.

mixed by pete katis (interpol/the national), this ep is the first taste of the sydney indie rock band’s album which will see no doubt soon see them trekking around the world with their folk anthems. [MP3] Winter People – Gallons [MP3] Winter People – Winterbone

this here is an earworm. great new tune from idjut boys, disco strumming ftw!!

great new stuff from lehmann b smith of kes band. little milk is short, kooky, catchy folk. out now through special award. Bitter Honey by Lehmann B. Smith Lollipop Man by Lehmann B. Smith also here are a couple of tracks from his split with Natasha Rose which is equally brilliant. I Don't Need Toys by Natasha Rose City Song 1 by Lehmann B. Smith You Mean There's More We're Yet To Burn Down by Lehmann B. Smith http://specialawardrecords.ban dcamp.com/album/split

Summer Flake is Steph Crase (Batrider, Fair Maiden, Hit The Jackpot). not only is this ep free its fucking fantastic. Inside Out by Summer Flake No More by Summer Flake On The River by Summer Flake

don’t think four tet has ever done a bad remix. this suicide cover was already good, but this just takes it to another level. and its of a swedish artist so totally relevant.

scuzzy, fuzz out of byron bay. is surf punk a thing? cos if it is this is kinda halfway there. Death Trap by Wilde Child [MP3] Wilde Child – That’s Not Cool [MP3] Wilde Child – No Regrets [MP3] Wilde Child – Wave Goodbye

jack ladder at his post-punky best. really love this track not sure why it didn’t quite make the cut for Hurtsville . [MP3] Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders – 3 Stomachs/No Weekend

split 7” with two melbourne's best. hissey miyake and terrible truths. stop everything and listen.
