As you might have noticed, or may not have noticed, this blog is dead. For now. Maybe, I get the feeling i want to promote more music I like somewhere in the future, but for now I just wanna sit down and eat cookies. That also means you, meaning my dear friends of the Music PR business, no longer have to send me e-mails about how i should listen to the bands you represent. Actually, now that we're being honest here: it is annoying, cause I always get the feeling I'm part of a sort of PR-factory. Everyday [...]
Oh right! I had a blog. Filed under: Uncategorized
I'm just snowed in. I'll be back, if the sun starts shining. Filed under: Uncategorized

I'm gonna keep it as short as the previous ones, just because it's already the 7th of January. I should be listening to 500 2010 records right now! I promised myself I'd provide more regular updates, maybe in a different form than I used to. Oh, and I'll finish my unknown bands from last decade list. Eventually. 20. La Strada - La Strada (EP) ( Ernest Jenning Recording Company ) What? The New [...]
I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. an internetless week (and happy to be having one). But I'm pretty sure that means I won't be able to finish my list before the end of 2009. I still have to pack and stuff... If I have some time left tomorrow, I'll maybe manage. But i don't think so. Posted in General Mumbo Jumbo And the Queen of France

I planned on finishing this before tomorrow, but I'm having not enough time to do it like I did for numers 50 - 31. So, the next texts are gonna be shorter, very short. Just a sentence and a song. Hope you don't mind. 30. Megafaun - Gather, Form And Fly ( Home Tapes ) What? Band rooted in indie country, but opening up to a whole array of genres [...]

And the list goes on... 40. Andrew jackson Jihad - Can't Maintain ( Asian Man Recordings ) What? Folkpunk opens their bloody doors to wider horizons. Andrew Jackson Jihad have made my list before in 2007, cause back then they made a huge impression on me with their Fuck-in-your-face Folk punk. The songs were about murders, misantropy and other difficult words that we can't spell properly. This year they have [...]

There are so many lists out there, that I don't have the pretention that mine will be anymore outstanding than all those others. Still, for personal benefit and glory, and for you people who can't get enough of lists or are constantly looking for new musical tips, I present you my list. It's got probably some obscure names, so you can brag about it with friends. 50. Boat - Setting The Paces ( Magic Marker Records ) [...]
Fuck Fileden. as you will see, some of the mp3's on my Young Talents List are uploaded on Fileden, others on Mediafire. That's because ****** Fileden is one of the lousiest sites out there. I'm going looking for alternatives with Direct Linking (Cause Mediafire lacks that unfortunate), maybe something I pay a small amount for. Stupid Internet. To know why my opinion on Fileden is so awful: it took me 3 hours to upload 3 songs. In 21st century gigabith Ethernet flip flap that's just not enough. Posted in General Mumbo Jumbo And the Queen [...]

So, after a lot of procrastination and seeing a LOT of other lists, I finally took up the courage to start sharing my list with you guys. It's always a lot of work, but in the end very fulfilling. First start with my young talents list. Last year, I predicted a bright future for Mumford and Sons, and I turned out to be a visionary man (The year before Bon Iver was my number 1). I must admit that I'm not that sure about this year's artists or this year's number one. there aren't any artists that will [...]

So, finally my 2009-list is done, a bit later than last year. Listening to all the stuff from this year, I had a mixed feeling... there were not as much outstanding records as last year, and a lot of bands I really looked forward to disappointed me. That being said, I've got a really amazing number one, which I will reveal in the course of the following weeks, hoping to have finished before or just after Christmas. I also will try to finish my best of the decade list by then, so I've got a lot of work [...]

Time for yet another episode of the 'What Have I been reading'-lists I've been keeping. I use a little booklet for this, and I'm already dreading the day that the book is full. Most of it is written in pencil, so that I could erase it, but maybe I'll just make a 900 pages long notebook myself, in which I meticulously keep listed what I've read in my life. My children, or my parents, my friends will find this list one day, thinking that I spent too much time reading and too little time living. But They don't know that [...]

So, I can't even keep up with regular posting on this blog, but I decided to chip in on the trend to, now that 2010 is only a month and a half away, reflect on the past decade. In terms of society, we've entered a new Dark Ages as far as I'm concerned, but because one of my mission statements for this blog was to not talk about me, I'll only bother my friends in the bar with that. I don't consider myself important enough to be sharing my opinion on everything that's going on. So, let's talk [...]

(This is about a Flemish Poet, so it will be in Dutch, for all you foreign readers. This doesn't mean you can't ask for more information, or learn Dutch in order to know what this is all about) Wie? Sammy Deburggraeve Wat?

Who? Portrait of David What? Melancholic Slowcore Sounds like? Low, Spain, The White Birch So, I started this way too confusing attempt to trade all my unwanted cds that keep piling up in my room for ones that are more suited to my taste, and I had no reponse this far. Logically, cause it's way too confusing. And the list is too long. So i decided to just introduce all these bands on my blog, so that if you listen to [...]

Who? Frontier Ruckus What? snowed country town melancholy, the farmers are locked in their barns, and they just have their banjos. Sounds like? Timesbold, Whip, Will Oldham, Bonnie Prince Billy Winter is to be seen at the horizon. If you don't watch out, it'll catch you. I heard from a friend that it was snowing in the United States. This seems like the beginning of an eternal winter. Luckily there is Frontier Ruckus. It keeps you warm, evne if it's sad. It's [...]

I have been planning to use this blog a bit for my own benefit (and a lot for yours). How? I have cleaned out my cd-collection and came up with quite a lot of albums that need to get out of my house as soon as possible. I also have a box of cds that i still need to listen, to see if they have to get out of here. So the list is growing as we speak. (Just decided to get rid of 'Tanglewood Numbers' by Silver Jews e.g) I am however not interested in [...]

Below you'll find the list of everything that I want to get out of my house as soon as possible. You can Find the rules about how I am trying to do that here . I know this is just a list, so over the next days (or weeks), I'll try to go into further detail and provide you with mp3s and youtube links of the artist. That way, you might get to know some new stuff you like and have the album immediately there for you. You just need something that I want to trade with. [...]

So, i have been reading quite a lot the last month, as i always do, though i always have the feeling i'm not reading enough. That's how bookminded I've become over the years. Anyway, What did i read? There were quite some Dutch books in there, which I'll talk about in English. Most of them aren't available in translations I guess, but maybe it's nice to see what Belgian writers write about (well, the same shit basically). Herman Brusselmans - Ex-drummer Herman Brusselmans is one of the more famous writers [...]
That means i'm preparing my annual Top 50 list. Relistening all the albums. I counted them. 320 albums of 2009 on my computer, (and every day more coming in, although there also disappear some) It's gonna be a tough couple of months. I'll try to keep the focus on 2009 bands low for the rest of the year. I'll post a "what did i read the last month & a half" list somewhere this week. I don't have enough time to fulfill all my blog wishes. Damn. But [...]
