Egyptrixx - "Chrysalis Records" (feat. Trust) [egyptrixx myspace]

When it comes to the post-dubstep/future garage movement, UK based artists such as Burial, Untold, and Mount Kimbie have been relentless in cranking out consistently brilliant releases over the years. Brooklyn based Sepalcure are no different. Fresh from their first release on Hotflush Recordings, Love Pressure , the foggy and bass drenched EP which created a huge splash this past summer, duo Machinedrum and Praveen are back with another strong release. Like previous efforts, the four tracks off of their new EP titled Fleur boast an overwhelming sense of ethereal darkness and uncertainty. Driven largely by crisp [...]

Our very own Samo Sound Boy is spreadin' some of that tropical bass swag as he tours the east coast in support of his upcoming release on Trouble & Bass; Heavy Bass Champions of the World Vol. XIII, due out this Tuesday January 25th. The tour kicked off in Philadelphia at Fluid Nightclub, and continued with a great show at Club Infinity in NYC. With shows in Charlotte, Hartford, Montreal, and Baltimore. Don't miss out on what is sure to be some of the most forward thinking DJ sets you'll hear this year. Check out the full list [...]

This past New Years Eve I was in Los Angeles at the notorious "rave" known as Together As One . The party brought such internationally loved mainstream dance acts as Markus Schulz, Dada Life, Laidback Luke, Wolfgang Gartner, Kill the Noise, Afrojack, Diplo, Jack Beats, Major Lazer, and Rusko. I decided to put together a list of all the big tracks that are still stuck in my head. For me these were the big room anthems of 2010. To each his own... Swedish House Mafia - "One (Original Mix)" [...]

Siriusmo's phenomenal track "Einmal in der Woche schrein" was at the top of my list of best singles of 2010. The Berlin native, aka Moritz Friedrich, apparently hates clubs and refuses to DJ live. However, the man is an incredibly talented producer, and I would probably give a kidney to see him perform. Fortunately for the world, Siriusmo has just released Feromonikon/Signal, which is a glimpse into his debut album Mosaik, set to come out on Modeselektor's label Monkeytown on February 25th. Judging from these two songs, the debut album is going to be one of [...]

Brooklyn's own Lee Fields and the Expressions are performing at Bowery Ballroom this Friday, January 7th. It will be a memorable one, so don't miss out. If you can't make the show, be sure to check out two members from the Expressions performing on Saturday Night Live the following day with the Black Keys. Tickets available here

The nice people at Malibu Rum have released a fun new app for the iPhone which features exclusive music from Palms Out favorites like Savage Skulls, and our very own Carli, Mastiksoul, Douster, Major Lazer, Style of Eyet, and Johan Hugo– among others. The Malibu Music Mixer lets you mix the music in sync only using the iPhone- includes EQs & FX, and perhaps the coolest feature: a sample bank full of classic dancehall and rave samples. Earlier this year, Malibu helped us throw a party at Pachita in midtown for CMJ with much of our extended family-our friend Tim [...]

Moveltraxx has been putting out some of the hottest party jams for a while now and their latest installment in the Da Movelt Posse series is no exception. Featuring music from the likes of Emynd, DJ Rashad, and Palms Out homeboy Marcus Price, don't expect anything less than raw bass music. Stream it until you're convinced you should head on over to Moveltraxx and cop the EP. <object height="2853 width="100%"> <param name="movie" value=" http://player.soundcloud.com/p layer.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi .soundcloud.com%2Fplaylists%2F 470408&show_comments=true&auto _play=false&show_playcount=tru e&show_artwork=true&color=3956 2e"></param> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param> <embed allowscriptaccess="always" height="2853 src=" http://player.soundcloud.com/p layer.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi .soundcloud.com%2Fplaylists%2F 470408&show_comments=true&auto _play=false&show_playcount=tru e&show_artwork=true&color=3956 2e" type="application/x-shockwave- flash" width="100%"></embed> </object> <span><a href=" http://soundcloud.com/moveltra xx/sets/v-a-da-movelt-posse-ep isode-3-out-december-20th-mtxl t1093>(V.A.) The Northeast in December is a sadistic and soul-crushing joke on humanity. Honestly, I don't know how anybody decided to live here, it is so fucking cold. The state of Connecticut makes me realize how lucky I was to grow up in the rich and fruitful city of Los Angeles, home of Kobe Bryant, taco trucks, and the finest quality sativa and indica strands on the earth. L.A. has also produced Flying Lotus, Daedelus, and Nosaj Thing, whose glitch-hop / dub melodies immediately cure any homesickness. What's more exciting is that Nosaj Thing has recently released a remix album of [...]
Click on the flyer to visit the The Brooklyn Artist Project and RSVP to the event. The Brooklyn Artist Project, at its core, is about giving fresh and independent visual artists a platform to share their story with the world and connect with like-minded creatives. The primary goal is to introduce new emerging artists and give some insight to their talents, inspiration, and process. For the first collection, the focus is Brooklyn artists, but hopefully with some support and participation, it can expand to other cities, states, countries, even planets. Peep music by the guest Dj's [...]

Our homeboy Murlo - out of Brighton - has been feeding us dancehall and soca remixes and blends for a while now - and it was only fitting that we finally got a mixtape out of him. From the now legendary Cosa Nostra riddim under Bugaboo to the Showa Eski to unreleased Murlo originals - he crams a lot into 50 minutes, and the flavors are all delicious. Follow him on soundcloud if you dont already. DJ Murlo - Mix for Palms Out (51min mix) And [...]

Our friends over at LuckyMe have been cookin' up some great things lately, most recently with the release of Machinedrum's brilliant EP "Many Faces" and Lunice's much anticipated debut "Stacker Upper" on deck for an early 2011 release. Also coming up for the label is Canadian newcomer Jacques Greene's debut EP: "The Look". The House, Garage, and R&B influenced record is garnering some well deserved hype and already gaining early support from the likes of L-Vis 1990, Floating Points, Mark Flash, and more. In support of the album, Greene recently put together a superb mix for URB containing some fresh [...]

The Deathset is gearing up to release there second record titled YO DAVID CHASE! I have heard the entire record and it is like nothing else I have ever heard before. It's out early next year, and it has already changed what I think about punk rock and electronic music, and the spot where they sometimes meet. Produced by the ever so talented XXXChange, The Deathset is really coming back with mature sound and sincere lyrics. Mishka just released the bands new mixtape, peep game . The Deathset will be celebrating (raging) tonight the [...]
So, that time I sold my soul to the devil for a Kaoss Pad and a pair of KRK studio monitors finally came back around and collected on my karma debt by having every piece of technology I depend on stop working at once. Now I'm back up with a new Macbook Pro (big up Ma and Pa dukes) and I'm slinging two new yard rhythms that brought me through the upper-middle class whiteboy crisis of figuring out how to DJ the Tribeca Grand without my computer. I'm assuming the irony in this situation is obvious enough. Anyways... [...]
