Lyon / France record label, Juicy , recently debuted American-Canadian duo, Falcons . The duo comprises of TightMike & KayleoStocko who together form a beastly collaboration of minds. Their release on Juicy delivers their latest track, 'Nigeria', along with a remix from Bobby Tank. 'Nigeria' leaks of beautifully drowning and cascading juke and jungly bass syncopations that ride this epic wave of body-swaying motion. Its an instant R&Bass classic. Don't pass this one up. Download it for free over at the label's soundcloud or a'name your price' at the duo's bandcamp . Also, check out [...]

Ex-Crystal-Castles drummer Cameron Findlay is currently working under the moniker Kontravoid . The name harks back to a limited run cassette from the 80s – positioning his self-titled LP within a historical period flush with industrial and new wave sounds. 80s English rock serves as an ally on tracks such as "Forgotten" and "Cut to Cleanse", where rich aerated synths hold focus. Grainy vocals samples, especially prominent on the first two tracks, tinge the album with a dystopic drive. "Native State" features striking female vocals that sound automated in their commanding intention. [...]

It's fair to say that the Bristolian house duo Waifs & Strays have just enjoyed an exceptionally good year in 2011, by anyone's standards. With productions appearing on both the Jamie Jones compiled Fabric 59 and also Matt Tolfrey's 'Five Years Of Leftroom,' appearances behind the decks in some of the world's top clubs and props from major house players such as Laurent Garnier and DJ T, the duo are making ripples both at home in Bristol and further afar on international shores. Combining a rich and eclectic musical background in Chicago House, and Drum 'n Bass respectively, [...]

Drake ft. The Weeknd - Crew Love (Shlohmo Remix) It's no secret that Shlohmo has been consistently putting out outstanding remixes as of late. He's got another one for us to add into our sound libraries. It's his bass reinterpretation of Drake and The Weeknd's, "Crew Love". Shlohmo lays down the gutted bass pattern that drifts back and forth under the impeccable R&B poetry of Drake and The Weeknd. Its a trifecta of minds that meet resoundingly on the same level of worlds. Yet another brilliant remix from the man.

Evelyn Mason and Jeremiah Klein make up the Vacouver-based R&B experiment, Evy Jane . Their soon to be released 123 on King Deluxe features two originally composed recordings and two reworks of each the numbers. The EP's title track finds itself nestled into a sub-terrain of Evelyn's mind-bending precision to effortlessly lay her words on gallantly gaping floating rhythm provided by the kinetics of Mr.Klein. 'SAYSO' also gets remix treatment from Taal Mala which is featured last on the release. The second track, 'Ohso', is an electrifying paradigm [...]

This mix is my own personal way of completely escaping from the darkness and loneliness of the bitter winter season. It’s a small collection of hidden gems that were meticulously picked from way up above… I recommend listening with a decent pair of headphones and nice hot cup of green tea. * Featuring an exclusive song from Ricky Eat Acid. Tracklist: 1. Foxes in Fiction & Ra Cailum- "Residential Architecture" (0:00) 2. Josh St. Denis- "One, Two" (4:08) 3. The Bilinda Butchers- "Secrets" (8:04) 4. Keith Freund- [...]
The seemingly unstoppable (and fairly young) creative-mind, Stewart Howard (dubbed Lapalux ), has carried his creative beat music through several channels of vocal cuts and percussive ambiance. His latest work, When You're Gone , surfaced earlier this week on West Coast sultry-bass label Brainfeeder . The EP is nothing shy of what we expected: lush textures, earthy atmospheres, and innovative, cerebral synthesis. Our pick of the litter, 'Moments,' featuring the lovely PY, eludes to the producer's more subdued side.

A classically trained, eccentrically expressive musician, visualist, and producer; Ari Bazoulian joins the Rebel catalog with an exquisitely cut, four-piece EP. LA-based Cliff Dweller , a sonic and visual project by Ari Bazoulian and friends, announces the release of their Perch Verdad EP on Rebel. Combining analog and digital, art and music, and organic and electronic, the five-track EP-including a remix from hotly tipped Baltimore beatmaker Ricky Eat Acid -truly fuses the best of both creative worlds for the aesthetically-minded listener. A classically trained violist, multi instrumentalist and music producer, Bazoulian isn't [...]
Although A. Chal . is currently working on an original project titled Ballroom Riots , he's still racking up attention with side projects aplenty. A distilled cut of Chal's wide-ranging influences form the foundation of "Gotham Mix1." You might be skeptical about a mix that clocks in just under 4 minutes, but time says nothing about its staying power. Light symphonic electro keys open up the mix before the tone plunges headlong towards a reverberating bass hook. Excerpts from the likes of Korn, Biggie, and even Vincent Gallo's film Buffalo '66 are impeccably placed throughout and [...]

Ghostly International poly-talent Zachary Saginaw, known to the music world as Shigeto , has just released a new mini-LP entitled Lineage. The eight instrumental songs on Lineage oscillate across a wide variety of musical styles spanning the past 50 years, including hip-hip, jazz and folk music. Shigeto brings all these elements together using his sharp producer skills to create a warm, deeply personal and constantly engaging collection of songs. With a name like Lineage and considering that both of Saginaw's producer aliases (Shigeto, Frank Omura) are reference to family names, it's no surprise that the artwork [...]
Cultivating a sound held deep within British experimental/bass music, London-bred threesome Maribou State have readied their third EP, Olivia , to be releaseed through Fat! Records next month. The title track, "Olivia," comes equipped with a hauntingly expressive video, filled with abandoned adventures and hallucinogenic drug use.

An extension of Diplo's label Mad Decent , Jeffree's is a virtual imprint on the prowl for the best "subterranean" underground producers. The label's latest offering is Zebra Katz , the persona of Ojay Morgan, a multimedia/performance artist whose debut release is titled Ima Read . The EP features Njena Reddd Foxxx and consists of the songs "Ima Read", "Hey Ladies", and four remixes of the title track by Slick Shoota, DJ Sliink, J-Wow, and MikeQ & B. Ames. Because the musical production on "Ima Read" is deliberately sparse, beatmakers can [...]

That's right! We're branching out into new realms. 2012 will see the release of the newly minted label Amadeus Records , a sister imprint to the lovely Rebel catalog. The first release, a four-track EP from Chicago-bred forward thinker Gianpaolo ' Savile ' Dieli, titled Being , will be accompanied by a remix from Leeds' Youandewan , most notably famed for his contribution to Skream's Disfigured Dubz imprint , as well as a multitude of cerebral remix and original work. You can preview the release below via the EP mini-mix. Digital release date to be announced. In the meant time, head [...]

Atlanta-born beat innovator Time Wharp releases his first EP on the Astro Nautico label with a gorgeously abstract 7 track piece entitled, BLK . Following up with his previous EP, GRN , he lurks down a different path from his riding down-tempo beat based exhibition. This time round he's back with a heavier bass infused juke 2-step configuration that speaks out fairly nicely in todays current trend of electronic sounds. Featuring a tune with the beloved Divine Interface and remixes from label-mates such as [...]

Savile Live @ Smartbar - 01.20.12 Chicago-bred forward thinker and inaugural rebel podcast inductee , Gianpaolo 'Savile' Dieli, has supplied us with a conceptual supply of quality music since the dawn rebel itself. Now, for all those on the west coast who couldn't make it to Smartbar (Chicago) this past weekend for MCDE & Savile , you're in luck. You can listen to Dieli's recorded set right now. The just-over-an-hour-long mix spans a timeline of classic cut Chicago House through an (unfortunately) nameless tracklisting.

Babe Rainbow - Greed (feat. Yung Clova) [Nowa Huta Remix] UK down-tempo fiend, Nowa Huta gives rework to Babe Rainbow's up beat banger, 'Greed', off the newly released Greed Remix EP , which is out now on Mishka NYC's bandcamp . Nowa Huta transforms the tune into an ethereal landscape speaking instrumental that subdues its fine tuned "OO's and AH's" onto a cascading stream that flows and dips into an echoing cove of reverberation. Its somewhat inspiring and healing at the same time. Lovely [...]
