This is as good as it gets for us American fans of Europe based group Jahcoozi. I had the pleasure of recently completing an interview with Sasha that was definitely a long long time coming. The group visits Montreal to rock the Mutek music festival , Canada's electronic music festival. It's obviously festival time, so get your pockets straight people! none of the Eargasm stuff will be able to make this event, however I would definitely like any footage that you guys manage to record. Im listening to one of the remixes for the watching you EP [...]
The irony. Two people we fully support over at TheEargasm drop videos on MTVu the same day. We love both of these guys. Support their projects and the majority of our fans do too. So take just 5 seconds out of your time to go watch both videos. Vote for your fave or both :) Also come check out both guys at my 25th Birthday Bash here in NYC at Fat Baby. Follow the Link to VOTE
TheEargasm.com is going through another renovation. That's right. We are continuously improving. We have tested out the current design over the past 5 months and after critical research pin-pointed areas that need a little tinkering. I promise we will be back better than ever :) With that being said. Featured artist will not be continued until we have finished the redesign, which will be early June. News will be continued. However, for your viewing pleasure, and after spending my Memorial Day evening watching this incredible documentary on Mike Tyson, I have posted it for the viewing pleasure [...]

Mapei "Leader of The Pack" Another artist that was brought to my attention by my friends over at D ante's Fried Chicken, and she was recently featured on Urban Outfitter Listen #4. Mapei is actually from Rhode Island, same spot that Eargasm fave Theo Martins is from. However, she currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden and splits time between there and NY, Brooklyn to be exact. According to Dante: She is a brilliant monster and Downtown Records definitely realizes this. Oh let's not overlook [...]

Last night I explored a new guilty pleasure. I sipped Syrah and devoured Cinnamon Toast Crunch that I obtained from the breakfast foods table at Donny Goines, "The Breakfast Club" album release., simultaneously. I encourage you all to try it at least once in life, wine, with your morning cereal .The release was held at Sullivan Hall in NYC in honor of the release of Donny Goines second album. Donny being a pretty good aqcuaintance, I support for many reasons. For one, he's honest. ssometime too honest. Lol withp that guy it is cut and dry and two, he has [...]

Let's be honest, most people think the last influential thing to come out of B.More was the gritty drama known as "The Wire". Lest we forget the beats from this Mid-Atlantic region have helped M.I.A control the airwaves over the past year. Beyond the syringe filled stoops associated with the show there is an indescribable music scene, with a myriad of talent. Along with DJ Blaqstarr and K-Swift, there is another man at the forefront of this movement, known as DJ Class . You may know him due to his recent radio hit "I'm The Ish", [...]

Jack Penate "Tonight's Today" Occasionally, some artists slip under our radar and reach a wider scale of success than artist we traditionally feature. Hence the case with Jack Penate . We are obviously late jumping on that boat, as over 2 million people have visited his myspace page and the track featured has managed to accumulate over 2.8 million plays. So shame on us. But there's a wealth of relatively undiscovered famous people out ther right? Such as Mallory Snyder , who actually dated David Blaine and was selected as the [...]

SO. If you claim that you do not have anything to do this summer. Your a liar. I said it. Your a liar. Yesterday the 2009 Lollapalooza line-up was announced, and this festival trulyp truly has something for everyone. If your taste is straight hip hop, you have the Beastie Boys and Snoop performing.. Not your cup of tea? What about Rye Rye and Hollywood Holt, both of which were featured on the site.? Dont' care for them? How about Bat for Lashes and Kings of Leon? We have been waiting on this line-up announcement like it was a [...]

This is one of my most anticipated mixtapes of the summer. Dom provided the teaser on Imeem, leaving us all thirsty and searching for the Download link, and it's finally available. This mix tape delivers. With a name reminiscent of Justin Timberlakes hugely successeful FutureSex/LoveSounds, the Leimart Park repper opensp hard with the Hard Work intro..." 95 Airmax cause I'm a dope runner, ballin like an athlete and got no jumper" . Dom Kennedy "Hard Work" People always question where hip hop is at, [...]
"Outta Space", by cARTer. Directed by JeromeD.com from Jerome D. on Vimeo . I feel like a proud parent or something. cARTer has been down with TheEargasm and the movement since day one . Nothing makes me happier than to see his visions come to fruition and gain recognition for the being th artist that he is. Enjoy the video and look out for him in a city for you as he hits the Sneaker Pimps tour this summer.. And if you don't have tha mixtape. Cop it [...]

p I have this conversation frequently with other people. once they find out the gist of this site, they always the conversation usually goes a little like...so whose hot now? Oh you like rap? Well whats up with the female MCs. My honest response. I don't feel female rappers like that. For me and female rappers its a double edged sword. I either feel they're sluttin it out on wax, trying to be harder than the dudes, or trying to over compensate for not slutting it out by being friggin mother earth and wellness. [...]

Love to everyone who was able to join us for the first ever TheEargasm x Dirty Jeenius X Sly Art vs Robot City event at The Sly Art Loft in Soho. It was a beautiful day. We were blessed by Concep coming through and executing a live painting to the sounds of DJ Nikolai and Iron Lyon. Looking forward to the next event which will take place May 19th. See you all there. Thanks to Joya Bravo , Sandflower Dyson , Santhya, Anton Glamb ,Tha Outabodies, and much more [...]

What can I say? Really good music comes from across that pond we call the Atlantic Ocean. I've lost mental count of how many artist from the United Kingdom. Natalie Williams is another one of those ladies that we've found with a pleasant vibe. She's not that "sell my soul" sexy, but a confident in my skin type of aura that attracts you to her overall, then you hear her music. All around Eargasm. With a slew of tracks available for artist listed as influences, such as Patti Labelle, Sereeta Wright, prince, Louis Armstrong, Chick Corea, The Roots, [...]

Sophia Fresh "What it Is" Chad from Box Eight actually put me on to these ladies. I can say that they have picked up major ground since I first checked them out. Not sure if they were signed with T-Pain at that time, but they are now.p The group Sophia Fresh is made up of 3 gorgeous young ladies that are actually talented. I'm not big for groups. You see whats happening on Making the Band. I'm still getting over the devastation of Jodeci's demise. [...]

Mayer Hawthorne "When I said Goodbye" I have Urban Outfitters Listen #3 which I have found solid tracks off of. Definitely not the remedial radio business that I'm forced to listen to when I get tired of the CDs within arms reach in my car. So this song came on, "When I Said Goodbye". I swore it was a remake. (People feel perfectly free to fact check my ass). Regardless of if its an original track or a remake, this dude, Mayer Hawthorne recorded [...]
