Taken from his fantastic album of last year, 'Chains Of Love' is Shelby Grey 's new single, released next Monday (the day for awesome releases !!!) by 'the ever-awesome Holographic People '. 'Chains Of Love' is the amazing Balearic Acid Space Disco musical journey that graced the 'The Music Is On His Side' album and one of the tracks that made that record uncategorizable. This is a track with a Mediterranean beach vibe that works perfectly in synth with Acid burbling. Both relaxing and exciting 'Chains Of Love' is one of those tracks [...]
To say Lazerhawk 's second album, 'Visitors' had been long, and eagerly awaited is a bit of an understatement. For a while now the Austin based SynthWave wizard has been teasing us with EPs and tracks, hinting at what the full thirteen track galactic odyssey would hold. Well, the wait is over. And 'Visitors' was worth the wait, it's a retro synth soundtrack masterpiece, and one of those records that should be taken in as a whole, the overriding thematic structure of this collection of Sci-Fi instrumentals works as a definite narrative. A journey on a cosmic [...]

Final DJs are so kind, they know we're all waiting for their début single, but they don't want to see up kept waiting, bored. So they keep dropping new tunes, and we stay happy. 'NEON' is their latest creation, a tune that drinks deep from the wells of both Italo and Disco. A futuristic, robotic, jam who's machine arpeggios are tempered by soulful solos. It's sweeping filers moving the track to rise and fall. This is night drive music with a difference, unfortunately no-one can yet get the full effect of this track, as the complete 'NEON' [...]
Goin' Old School isn't a trip down music memory lane, it's a mugging in the dark alleyway of nostalgia: This week we're kicking it TOTP style with three performances, first up The Human League in 1982 with 'Mirror Man'. A year later Yazoo 's 'Nobody's Diary' from 1983. And finally, 'Things Can Only Get Better' in 1985 from Howard Jones . [...]
Blackstrobe main man Arnaud Rebotini is one of our favourite producers, there's no-one quite like him for teasing hard Disco out of vintage analog synths. In his latest reMix, of Rafale 's 'Beyond Bad', he takes the 'hard' one step further with a tune that is borderline EBM. Taken from Rafale's free 'Obsessions reMixes' collection, this mix sees Arnaud channelling old school Nitzer Ebb with the dirty, militaristic, bassline, coarse synths and industrial percussion. Last year's original 'Obsessions' album was produced by Robitini himself and it feels like here, he allowed himself to play around [...]
A brand new track from Kavinsky 's forthcoming album has leaked, we're usually a bit cautious about posting leaks, unofficial releases just hurt the artists release schedule, but Kavinsky himself linked to the leak on his Twitter account, so we guess it's not too bad. Plus, we're too drunk with excitement to contain ourselves. 'RoadGame' see the French SynthWave legend on top form, and more cinematic than ever with an epic building track that, as a precursor to the album, lets us know that Kavinsky's soundtracking of the Dead Cruiser is far from over. No-one tells a [...]
In March, one of out favourite musicians (note, I said musician, not producer!) Keenhouse is back with a new EP, 'Better Days'. The new record is four tracks of Keenhouse's freeform Disco that, once again, perfectly display Ken's exceptional talent both as in instrumentalist and an arranger. The last few years have seen Keenhouse move more and more into an almost Jazz take on Nu-Disco and 'Better Days' is no exception. It's a melting pot of ideas, effortlessly shifting from style to style, from riff to riff, everything held in place with a deep disco groove. [...]
One of our favourite Russian ElectroPop acts, The Tapeaters , have just unleashed a brand new single, not only new, but also free! Are you ready for summery retro Pop? 'Waiting For A Sign' is pure '80's Pop, of the smooth variety. The kind quaffed haired young dudes in flecked suit jackets would perform on Top Of The Pops around the middle of the decade. It's a fun, catchy tune with enough groove to get you moving on the dancefloor and enough crooned vocals to be radio friendly. The 'Luncay Mix' keeps the '80's feel but chunks [...]
Here's the new video for Graph Gonzales ' wonderfully '80's 'Eyes In The Dark', which we featured last year . Jason Bowers directs this slick Pop clip. We're still finding the tune pretty addictive, it;s the big retro chorus that Graph pull off so well! 'Eyes In The Dark' is out now. Buy Graph Gonzales' music from: [...]
ATTAR! - M!X#3 = One half of Mustang kicks off his latest tape with Perseus' rad 'Running Back To You' and just keeps that level of awesome throughout. This is a sweet hour that should have you thinking about the weekend already! ♫ ATTAR! = M!X#3 The tracklist: 01. Perseus - Running Back To You 02. Tronik Youth - Body Lovin' 03. Juveniles - Ambitions (Midnight Savari Dub) 04. Pitchben - Stand Up (Tiger & Wood reMix) 05. Cadillac - Blue [...]
Once more Josh Legg has knocked it out of the park with his latest Goldroom reMix. I would say the constant quality is getting tedious if it wasn't for the fact that his reMixes rock. this time around it's Kitsuné's Citizens! turn for a ride on the Goldroom train as their 'Reptile' gets and almost Italo workout. Check out those bright, shimmering synths, like something straight out of an optimistic '80's Sci-Fi movie, a new feature to Goldroom's arsenal, but one that slips in effortlessly with the laidback funk we've come to love. Mixing [...]
Michael Senna & Peter Zohdy are a pair of Danish producers who are gearing up for the release of their new single, 'All In Vain'. It's a big room ElectroPop/House track with retro Disco edge. It's the bassline that does it, the bassline and the icy synth hits, both are pure '80's sounds that have been folded into a peak time House track to give it a New Wavey flavour. Add to that some floaty deadpan vocals and our beloved synth toms and you have this strange mixture of euphoric House and late night analog [...]
Niki & The Dove 's new video for their single 'The Fox' is a pretty lovely to look at CG fest. Directed by WINTR the clip, well, just watch it, you'll see. I'm sure there is a story somewhere. 'The Fox' is out now on Sub Pop. Buy Niki & The Dove's music from: [...]
French Express' Moon Boots , despite having bills to pay himself, has gone and thrown caution to the wind and dropped his latest big Nu-Disco tune for free! 'Bills To Pay' is pretty cosmic and pretty beach party, in terms of it's Disco standing. So maybe like a beach party on Jupiter or something. With a big soul vocal sampled hook and a creeping funk bassline the track just inspires the boogie. If fact, even though it had the big diva refrain and some seriously strong House piano, it is that bassline, subtly but funky [...]
I've been dying to write about this for a while now, the new single from Figure Of 8 , 'No One Cries For Me', out next week on On The Fruit Records . Belfast's purveyor of all things Pop and House enlisted the help of Bright Light Bright Light and Our Krypton Son and the sublime vocals of Sophie Galpin to create a deep , soulful slice of ElectroPop that will stay with you all day after just one listen. The track has a Balearic, sunrise feel to it, but [...]
If you happen to be in London town this Friday I'm sure you will be attending the launch party for our 'electronic rumors Volume 1' compilation CD, amongst the acts appearing on the album and playing live that night will be Bristol's almighty Substatic . The, now, two peice will be showcasing some brand new material and as a little taste they have released their latest tune on their SoundCloud page. The first thing I noticed about 'Opened Up' is how accessible it is, Substatic have always been able to turn a tune, to deliver catchy, memorable [...]
Ooooo, an Alpha Boy and Jowie Schulner collaboration! That's the kind of get together worth of an issue of Marvel Team-Up! Two of the most talented players in on the SynthWave scene getting together is like a meeting of retro-minds. You know how in the '70's when two acclaimed Prog Rock guitarists met on the battlefield of the stage, you just know it's going to be a technical solo extravaganza, well that's what this is like, with synths. And it's totally epic, retro synth work with a musicality of the highest order. The solos [...]
Walter Sobcek - The January Tape 'Slopes Deluxe' = An awesome, fun, mixtape from the Dreamwave act that spans boarders. Full of twisted funk and laid back grooves this is one for chilling in the sun. ♫ Walter Sobcek - The January Tape 'Slopes Deluxe' The tracklist: 01. Walter Sobcek - Miami (Kido Yoji reMix) 02. 2 Guys In Venice - Cookies 03. Fallulah - I Lay My Head (Shook reMix) 04. Timex Social Club - Rumors 05. Perseus - Running Back [...]
