Africa, like the world's pulse… Africa, like a troublemaker… Africa, like a cry of hope ringing in your ears… Africa, like Asa. Asa sings about her country, the troubles of Africa: the domestic violence, the wars, the rape, the killing, the poverty. She is the voice for the silenced, the nameless, and the ones who have passed away. Despite this, her songs are filled with empowering truths and soulful lyrics. They are positive, beaming with hope, realistic optimism and prayers for the peace of her [...]

Yes! I've been wearing my "YES WE DID!" shirt all day today and will continue to to so for the next week at school. Yeah my uni peers are totally jealous of my wikkid shirt. =) I've been waiting a while for this to happen and it's finally here! WOOHOO! I thought I'd celebrate with the first mixtape, of many many to follow, of acquiescetomusic ! Mixtape: 8 Songs for 8 Years Mixtape: 8 Songs for 8 Years [...]

Madcon is short for mad conspiracy. They are from Norway. And they overflow of awesomeness. It makes me jump up jump up and get down, a lot. It has the subtleties of oldies like Frankie Valli, Dion and the Belmonts, and Four Seasons mixed in with modern Architecture in Helsinki-esque instrumental hootenanny to create a consistency that passes for hip pop 'n' B. This, plus the lyrical soulfulness of John Legend, and rapping prowess of The Rascalz, makes An InCONvenient Truth an amazing hip hop album and a [...]

Two Fingers is composed of Amon Tobin and Joe "Doubleclick" Chapman. I don't know much about Doubleclick. But I know lots about Amon Tobin . Of his many LPs and countless EPs, Bricolage is one of my favorite records ever produced. Ever. Amon Tobin and Doubleclick work together to fuse trip-hop, boneshattering bass dubstep, and grime. MMMMmm what a mixture. And who is the MC behind most of the music?! SWAY !!! Man, he's one of my fave grime artists alongside Durrty Goodz , and Roll Deep . I believe the LP is [...]

Ok this is a late night post but I just really have to get this off my chest. Amidst all the fanasssstic record releases coming up (of which I've copped! baaaajajjaa), this is the MOST DISAPPOINTING of them all. I didn't really have exceptionally high expectations for this album because nothing can top their self titled debut in 2004, and the release after that, You Could Have It So Much Better , was well, pretty medicore and it WASN'T that much better contrary to what the title of this LP would have me believe. I [...]

This image has been memorized onto my retinas for the past few months. This album cover will be burned into our memories as one of the best albums to be released in 2009 and probably one of the most inventive albums in a long long while. Animal Collective's album is due to drop in less than two weeks but music bloggers everywhere have pretty much been looping this for months now. I've read a lot of reviews, most of which are good, especially P4K's 9.6 review on MPP. [...]

People often,'though now not so much, don't realise Kanye's big hit "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" originally uses Daft Punk's same titled song as the background sample. I have nothing wrong with sampling because music is sample upon sample upon sample, really. But give credit to where credit is due! On that note, this is somewhat old news but I'm sure you fashionistas out there have noticed a pretty wikkid heart pin floating around on the chest of some big names in the biz, notably, Kanye West. [...]
Damn. This video is HAWT. If anything, just watch it to see her sunglasses in the beginning. PIMP!!!

I got my wish: the WAFFLES invite! YESSSSS I am happy. I was gonna post some Christmas songs but decided to do something else instead. If you want awesome Christmas songs and mixtapes... go here. Here are some videos which I find, have been somewhat forgotten. I have phases every couple months or so where I listen to nothing but 80/90's artists. All the way from Blur, Oasis, Cranberries to *NSync, Backstreet Boys, Mariah, Janet and Madonna. Oooooooooh yeah. It feels sooo right... =) HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! Enjoy some classics!...starting with TLC =) [...]

She is an incredibly talented songwriter, singer, and performer. I think this performance on the Letterman show is a definite testament to that. Let's not forget, she is the woman behind the song " Breathe Me ", the very song that ended the fantastic heart wrenching cathartic series Six Feet Under . I still get chills and emotionally overwhelmed every time I hear that song. She has this amazing ability to pull you into her world...see for yourself: ISN'T SHE SO CUTE IN [...]

It's Britney, bitch. Ok, I get it. A lot of people don't like Britney Spears. Why? Word's on the street that she's a crazy psycho bitch, depressed, a bad mother that doesn't know how to raise her kids, yada yada yada. At least this what I hear from most of my friends that despise her and don't understand why or how I could possibly like someone that seems, admittedly, so self-deprecating. Who knows if the entire past few years of her life were a complete publicity stunt? Even if that wasn't the case and even if [...]
