I originally wasn't going to go to this concert because Santigold is playing at the Bonnaroo Festival next week. But, I looked at the B'roo Festival schedule and realised that Santigold, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear and a few others were ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Ugh, I hate conflicts. AND yesterday night Santigold, Grizzly Bear, AND Sarah Slean were all playing, but at different venues, of course. So I had to do some researching and sacrificing and decided to watch Santigold in Montreal, YYYs at B'roo, and catch Grizzly Bear at Lolla. How do I afford all [...]

Aaaaah yes! the Montréal Jazz Festival , a yearly delight featuring over 400 bands of which 350 of them are FREE. Yes, those stats are for this year, and last year, I remember it being 500+ bands of which 400 were free. Simply amazing. This year, the headlining artist to start off the festival is STEVIE EFFIN' WONDERS. OOOOOOOOO EEEEEMMMMMMM GEEEEEEEEE!!! I'll be covering this festival from head to toe! The official schedule will be released in a few days but go after the jump to see the list of artists. Grab an extra pair of pants [...]

Hi all, I am now in Montreal! HOORAAAH! But am looking for a place to move to since well, I can't stay at my friends forever tee hee. I've been meaning to do so many updates but as usual my alter obsession for film and tv have taken up my blogging time. I LOVE the Big Bang Theory. Does anyone else watch this? It's a great show filled with nerd humor. En tout cas, I'll be taking another hiatus until I can get properly settled in. - Things I plan on updating you guys on: [...]

I CAN'T WAIT 'TIL SEPTEMBER 1ST!!! Is anyone else going!?

This week's worth of videos is dedicated to Grizzly Bear's amazing single "Two Weeks" off their new release Veckatimest . I think this is one of the best songs of the year and when I need something to lift me up I blast this and sing as if I were an entire orchestra and choir. It's powerful stuff. They just released their video for this and it is just fantastic. But, I did like another video other than the one they released which I feel, captures the soul and optimism of the song better than the official [...]

Glastonbury is easily one of the largest festivals in the world. With more than just music, Glastonbury is an arts festival, offering up festivals within festivals like Shangri-La, Trash City, and Circus and Theatre areas. But really, the 5+ stages of music with more than 1000+ musicians is really what the festival is all about. For just £185 total, you can get a pass to this four day mayhem (June 24-28) and this INCLUDES the camping pass. What a deal. Just absolutely ridiculous. Too bad it's all SOLD OUT. This is my dream festival, if only I was heading [...]

Sexual harassment. Panda! That was a South Park reference. Tee hee. This photo is part of a Zoo series for one of my favorite photography websites, The Big Picture . Anyways, I have finally finished the mixtape I have been meaning to get out with all the stuff I have been obsessed with for the past three hectic months. Some of the artists I have already reviewed, some of them I will end up doing a more in depth review on AtM, and some I am not! This will also be posted on Ca Va Cool , another [...]

It's here! I haven't had time to listen to it yet. But the reviews are great and all the blogs chosen for the remixes are fantastic! But let me know what you think! Tracklisting and album after the jump! 1. Human After All (The Disco Villains Remix) // Disco Demons 2. The Prime Time Of Your Life (Tits & Clits Remix) // [...]

You know when you look at an artist and get some weird preconception of how they'd sound? And most of the time, it's not that far off? Well a lil' lady by the name of Zee Avi popped up in my inbox the other day and after watching her "Bitter Heart" video, which you can watch below, I was completely blown away and I immediately got the album. I have yet to listen to it as I'm catching up on some old new stuff but a review will come in a few weeks, hopefully. She goes by the name of [...]
As I'm sure you all know, Conan will be taking over for Leno on June 1st. It's been confirmed that Conan will be Jay's last guest on May 29th just like how Conan, the new guy, was Letterman's last guest before taking over late night. End of an era and the beginning of a new one! Just thought I'd share this great video of the good ol' days...14 years ago.

What started as a vague idea planted as a seed into the minds of a few individuals has now sprouted into a full-blown project ignoring geographical borders and cultural differences through an internet-based cooperation between a group of influential music blogs who set their minds on creating a remix album for Daft Punk's infamous third album Human After All (2005). The idea was born from the sense that the official but strictly limited remix compilation Human After All: Remixes (2006), which was only available for Japanese consumers, did not completely satisfy fans of the band and remix [...]

It's no secret that Bradford Cox, head man of Atlas Sound , is a genius. That's right, a genius. Over the years, Deerhunter was created with the help of his friend Lockett Pundt, who is the dude behind the more recent Lotus Plaza . The bands release of Cryptograms and the Fluorescent Grey EP back in 2007 rocket launched their names into the musicoblogosphere, bringing the indie music scene with a post-punk contemporary psychedelic ambient sound, a perfect blend of both Cox and Pundt's individual efforts. Deerhunter releases their [...]

This looks awesome. I will be there. For real this time, no exams to hinder me because a CERTAIN festival moved its traditional last weekend of April dates UP one week. Cough COACHELLA cough cough. Gah I will make up for my C'hella loss MASSIVELY out in the east! BOOYAH!

You may recognize the Gossip as the group that released Standing in the Way of Control nearly two years ago. It was an album filled with hard rock layered with Beth Ditto's lioness voice that provided the fierceness to every track. Their hit single from that able "Standing in the Way of Control" is probably the song that got them on the radio. The Soulwax remix was by far one of the heaviest rotated remixes floating around and still is. On May 19th, they'll be releasing Music For Men . Their first single [...]

The 2009 Boston Independent Film Festival has announced that Amy Grill's feature documentary film, SPEAKING IN CODE, will have its world Premiere at the festival. In 2005 Amy Grill, currently a faculty member at Emerson College, began filming a verité account of the characters behind electronic music. The result is an intimate, inspiring and sometimes heartbreaking look into a world where people get lost in music. After interviewing many characters in many different countries, Grill trained her camera on eight individuals within the world of electronic music: an innovative inventor, two rambunctious bad-boy producers, two DJ and their [...]

Ok so as you guys know I have been a lazy ass and haven't made any posts in April 'cause of final exams, graduation, celebrating, and yada yada yada. I'll be doing super super quick reviews (like seriously under 100 words probsies) on Yeah Yeah Yeah's It's Blitz! , Boy Least Likely To's Law of the Playground , Camera Obscura's My Maudlin Career , and Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix . Short and sweet just 'cause these bands have been blogged about like crazy for the past little while already and I'd rather cover albums that have [...]

Hi y'all. I know I know I've been so lazy and haven't posted in a while. I am now a graduate! HORRAAAH!!! No more exams for the rest of my life, I hope. And, to celebrate, obviously lots of alcohol was involved but slothfulness, slothiness? too. Yup, I love to celebrate by downloading 50gbs worth of TV that I've missed out on while being in uni (WE ARE ALL THE PIRATE BAY)! It's been awesome to just sit at home all day and do nothing but watch TV/movies. I've got How I Met Your Mother, all the seasons of South [...]

I have been so terribly busy lately. I am graduating soon. I will be so very happy once the three weeks of no sleep all stress days are over and I can finally breathe again. I've been meaning to post on YYY's, Boy Least Likely To, Phoenix, Camera Obscura, and a few others for the longest time now, but just don't have the time to do it properly. So, I will be taking a hiatus until I can actually make regular posts again. But, I leave you with two of my favorite things to calm and bring peace to your [...]

Wow I am surprised that there is another one this year after the inauguration of the AWP went so sour last year. America doesn't NEED more festivals for crying out loud, especially one's like these located close to pretty much every large and accessible city within 100km radius that host 100+ bands a day anyways. And this, THIS IS THE BEST THEY COULD COME UP WITH?! These are all recycled bands, not that Fleet Foxes, YYY's, the National, Flying Lotus, etc etc aren't good bands...but by the time All Points West Festival happens on July 31st [...]
Wow. Wikkid cool video. For their music and my LP review of N.A.S.A. go here .
