I wasn't really big on Drum & Bass until early 2010 when I got ahold of one of Hospital Records ' annual Hospitality compilations. The Hospital Rec sound perfectly blends big bass with lush melodies and memorable vocals. It's almost like they have a monopoly on gorgeous fast-paced club music. It's been a bit since the Brits were borrowing styles from American producers but this is becoming something of a trend with Knife Party 's emulation of Skrillex ' basslines and the newer Dillon Francis inspired Delta Heavy rework on Nero 's upcoming "Must Be the Feeling" EP. These UK counterparts aren't clones though, given their hard hitting Drum & Bass backgrounds an adoption of new and gritty American production styles seems more like a natural reaction. On paper, this batch of remixes for Justice ' On'n'On EP is already one of the best releases of 2012. Sadly, it's not. Each of these mixes are about as interesting and thought provoking as the EP's cover art. Once the producers establishes their "remix" bit, the songs plato into bland redundancy. I've heard nothing but praise for Brodinksi 's mix but every time I give it a listen I get bored with its repetitive synth breakdowns which span throughout most of the production. [...]

Sadly the remix comps for Lana Del Rey 's singles continue to be pretty sparse in quality. It's like nobody knows how to approach her style. The drum & bass productions seem to be the only ones that work. Take Marcus Intalex 's "Bron to Die" remix for example, its relatively simple formula of warm, dark basslines and moody synths compliment Del Rey's dreary theatrical voice perfectly.
Melé 's new track premiered on Mac's Friday show is called "Beamer" and can only be described as "gorgeous crunk house." Actually you could probably call it a lot of different things, most importantly fun party music. If you like his new single, he's got a soundcloud with lots more digitial treats.
