There have been many reincarnations of Blackman's 'Beat that bitch with a bat' track on Trax back in 93. Miss Kitten re-shuffled things up, emphasising possibly less on the domestic abuse side of thing (depending on what you regard a 'hit' as) and surely Zebra Katz recent pop track 'Ima read' draws serious influence from said tracks. Included are some remixes from over the years including our good friend Ripley's recent k-holing remix of the Katz. Indian Acid vibes, didn't expect that on a Monday?!… So when did acid house really begin? With Phuture in 1987, Brian Dougans in 1984, or with Singh in 1982?? There's lots to talk about there and its clear Singh lacks that club vibe, but either way this is insane music, built with 808s, 303s and some crazy Bollywood flute… Singh was clearly on the ball 30 years ago, check out his album which got re-released a few years back, an interesting listen, although it's more like a rambling thought process than a considered album. Off the ultra heavy EP dropped on Blawan's Sheworks last month. Simple, effective hardcore dirt. Pick it up on the old Discogs before the prices get out of hand...Hats aff.

One of Circulation/Joshua's finest tracks, released back in 952 on the amazing Balance records. Consistantly deep you can always rely on some belters from Balance, this one is like a crossover Mayday meets NY House'n Authority meets Chez Damier meets Sneak... deep, pumpin, melodic, sample heavy and full of emotion. I posted up the flip of this one earlier in the week, hands of time, completely forgot about this bomb. Pierre truly is the matser of acid, he uses it so subtly with such amazing effect, you never get overwhelmed by it... most acid tracks kinda melt me out 1 min in but he just keeps the groove and teases the liquid out of the TB303 just when you want him too. PHUTURE SCOPE | PLASTIC (WILD PITCH MIX)

The label says it all... You prob have seen at least a bit of hype surrounding this track a few weeks ago when the guys posted this video . You prob already know the original, ESP- It's You , which in it's own right is a house classic... this gives it the modern re-rub and dancefloor epicness. All in all a fantastic limited release from WPH, one of the most forward thinking labels out there at the moment. Up there with the tracks of the [...]

To mark the release of his epic new track 'Let's hope' which is accompanied by a remix from yours truly , Ripa' has been kind enough to give away a glorious beatless version to really tease out the crowd. You won't find too much ghetto shiz on here, but this piece of raw muscle has always been a bit of a favourite, and since it's getting a remastered re-release in the next coupla' weeks, it definitely deserves a shout. With co-production from the likes of DJ Funk, this is proper groovin' 90s ghetto vibes all round!!

Classic Pierre on one of my favourite labels, Emotive Records... have found a tonne of gems on this one over the years. This is up there with them, amazing mesmerizing vocal hooks with loopy pianos and killer 90s drums... clear vinyl makes me smile aswel :)
Last week we saw our Gary in a finely cut white silk suit, smokin a cuban whist waiting to to get picked up by his chauffeur with a gaggle of girls...on the Sydenham bypass. We always knew he was bigtime the day we met, this track is merely further proof. Moving in between garage, stomping house and euphoric party music... its quite a hard one to stick in any genre. Ejeca really coming into his own with this floor orientated killer, moving beyond the underground to gain support from the big names around biza this summer. Drops October [...]

This stripped back roller seems to have particular relevance, being from Belfast. Well whatever the hippies say, you can't fault the funk in this early 80s burner, produced by the heroic Cerrone... stick it on and feel the love (muscle). DOWNLOAD

This we UKG badboy has defo made a big resurgence in the last couple of months, even pulled it out a coupla times meself. Big bumpin' bass, plenty of M1 and nothin too cheese on the vocal end, the type of Garage I love.
