If you're looking for something to put a spring back into your step now Christmas is over, well, I think I might have it for you. The chap behind the Remix Artist Collective (RAC) is back with a four track EP, released on Christmas day. Its a nice free download and you can get your hands on the full release HERE . RAC is best known for creating upbeat remixes whilst keeping hold of the tracks original formula. The new E.P is more of the same and features tracks from Hockey, The Gossip, Honeythieves and [...]

Here goes with part 24...I'm not even half way through this countdown yet and I'm amazed at how many tracks I've managed to rack up so far. I guess without calculation, I thought I'd be alot more limited than I actually am. That said, I'm still going to tread carefully and treat it as though every minute is of a incredibly high value. 79. The Velvet Teen - Radiapathy [2:32] [ time remaining 704.59 ] ( Drop IO ) ( Alt Link YSI ) This track takes me back to my time at university [...]

At some point this themed post will contain something I'm ACTUALLY guilty for liking. I promise... But for now, I'm totally in love with this woman right now, I can't imagine her doing anything badly for a considerable amount of time. x

2009 is over already? It doesn't seem like long ago that I was writing my best of 2008 list and here I am again, doing the same for the final year of the noughties. Like I said last year, I find these lists a real conversation starter, or argument starter considering none of us ever agree. But I'm going to stress that this is my personal top ten and I must admit, it was a tough choice...but here goes. 10. LILY ALLEN - IT'S NOT ME, IT'S YOU [...]

So, Uffie's back right? I can't decide if I'm a) excited about hearing her once long awaited album, or b) past the point of giving a fuck as its taken god knows how many years. I think the final nail in the coffin was the release of Ke$ha's terrible single, 'Tik Tok' which made the majority of Uffie's past fans do a double take to check it wasn't her. Even when I realised it was some gross little girl doing her best rip off impression, I couldn't help but be turned off Uffie even more. [...]

Definitely a grower. I'm hooked. x

I don't ever do this, but this song has been buzzing its way around my head for the last few days. Its not new, but its damn catchy and in my opinion, the best track Peter, Bjorn and John have created since 'Young Folks'. Peter Bjorn & John - Nothing to worry about ( Drop IO ) ( Alt Link YSI ) x

I've always had a massive soft spot for the original version of this track, so to find that its been covered by girl of the moment Ellie Goulding , well that was always going to be a treat. The track also features a chap called Erik Hassle, check him out HERE. Erik Hassle & Ellie Goulding - Be Mine (Robyn Cover) ( Drop IO ) ( Alt Link YSI ) x

Another amazing video from the Major Lazer crew... If you're in the area, they hit Digital in Brighton on December 3rd, find out more HERE. x

'Night of the Hornheadz' is a monster of a track by the kings of bounce ' Act Yo Age ' and the king of everything else, ' Drop the Lime '. Now I know I'm a month late with this one as it was released back in October, but when you come across a video as cool as this one, there's no such thing as being late... Act Yo Age Feat. Drop the Lime - Night of the Hornheadz (Bird Peterson [...]

Just like every blog writer, I get alot of e-mails from artists or their representatives asking that I feature their music. Unfortunately, I just don't get time to read through all of them, let alone listen to the tracks they're talking about. This isn't through lack of care, I genuinely wish I had time to do it, because occasionally, you really do come across the odd gem you've never heard of. No before I talk about the latest gem I've found, I want to tell you about what drew me in to listen to him in the first [...]

To most of us, La Roux's 'Quicksand' is ancient, it's the track that broke her into the blog world as Kitsune's new star, but to the masses, well, I guess it's just an album track. So, in true "I've gone mainstream" style it's getting re-released. There is some good news though and thats the line up of remixers on the new E.P... Alex Metric, Mad Decent and Boy 8-Bit? Yes please. Buy it from iTunes HERE. La Roux - Quicksand (Boy 8-Bit Remix) (Drop Io) [...]

The clues in the title.... I know I shouldn't, but I love it... x

Its been a little while since I posted my last 1000 minutes entry. I think it got to the stage where I'd started to worry I was just picking tracks for the sake of it. I'd love to say that the break helped the situation, it didn't. Still not sure what this is all about? Click HERE . In this post I've decided to go in a slightly different direction and focus on one artist. Normally this would be quite a difficult task to achieve, but when the artist in question is Cut Copy, it was pretty [...]

Everything gets abit serious and depressing at this time of year doesn't it? So how about a slice of unassuming and fun indie pop to brighten these winter nights? Now alot of people would dismiss the sound created by Bullet & Snowfox as cheesy, which is fair enough if you take life seriously at all times. But for me, sometimes all I want is a band that will lift my mood with snappy beats and catchy melodies. If you agree with me, then I suggest you check these guys out. Let your guard down and accept [...]

Now this is what I call a Christmas Present! December the 20th sees label mates Adam Freeland, Alex Metric and Evil Nine hit the shores of Brighton to play at Coalition. This is bound to be an unforgettable gig with such a monster line up, so if you're in the area, be sure not to miss it. Tickets are £8 in advance and you can grab them HERE . Find out more info about the event HERE . And while you're waiting, to quench your thirst, an Evil Nine remix [...]

Last month we were all wowed by The XX's remix of 'You Got The Love', they truly did raise the bar for remix quality and its unlikely that anyone who dares to remix that track in future will even touch their effort. What I have here, is another quality Florence remix, this time by the legend named Switch. I'm not going to make comparisons with the previously mentioned remix as they're worlds apart in style, but I'd say Switch is the only one to get close to that wow factor. Florence + The Machine [...]

I've been casually watching the hype surrounding Hereford born Ellie Goulding whiz past me for the last couple of months. Now I figured it was about time that I gave some blog space to the girl who is quite possibly one the most exciting female soloists of 2009. That may be a bold statement I know, 2009 has been filled to the brim with fresh female talent, but something about Ellie Goulding is a little more intriguing. Now by all accounts Goulding herself has heavily eclectic musical taste, infact I read somewhere that one of her most admired [...]
