Fast becoming a favourite here in the Dublin Bus Towers. Below is the Pink Elephant scene from Disney's Dumbo with the Sun Ra version of Pink Elephants over it. The person who posted this on Youtube doesn't know who did it so credit can't be given unfortunately. Amazing animation & amazing music. Sun Ra - Pink Elephants On Parade MP3

Some slow mo 80's groove perfect for these cold winter evenings. Love the bassline, then the vocoder hits. Perfect. From their 1984 LP "Intimate Connection". They had a stint calling themselves The Jam before the English group started getting big. Also previously known as the Universal Robot Band & Pipeline before settling on Kleeer. "...tonight I'm gonna do it to ya right" sung through a vocoder pretty much encapsulates what I love about the 80's. Kleeer - Tonight To skip the countdown timer on zshare downloads: clear [...]

I discovered this guy a while back & thought he must be on the verge of becoming pretty big. He may be well known in his locale & around the States but he doesn't seem to be known much internationally. Well rats to that good sir I say he bloody well should be! Chopping up breaks hasn't sounded so fresh in a long time! He brings a unique touch to sampling, mixing up reggae, funk, jazz, hip hop, world music etc. He is also a very talented multi-instrumentalist, with percussion being his forte. The 2 [...]

Just back from Edinburgh where I got myself a promo copy of the Ghostbusters 12" !! It's such a good film, with perhaps the best theme of all time? Here it is in all it's 5 + a half minute glory. I'm including the dub for those who like to lose themselves in what has come to be known as ghostbuster boogie. Ray Parker Jr. was taken to court by Huey Lewis in 1985 for ripping off his song 'I Want A New Drug' for the ghostbusters theme. In 1995 they settled out of court. [...]

The recent Clone Records mailing list email began with this [sic] : " here a thought that just popped up while making this list... kind of a message for all those mp3 kids who want more and more new music!!! For many buyers and dj's records seem to be old after 2 or 3 weeks... they seems to have an unstoppable urge for the latest and exclusive music no matter if its good, as long as its exclusive & new. And if its in today, its to late because they needed it yesterday before their mate [...]

A handful of these 'Street Jam' 7"s came out a few months ago on a label called 'Black Kolaz Jamaica'. They each have somebody different doing vocals over the Street Jam. This is Teflon's version. He hails from St. Mary, Jamaica + is only 23 but has a great style [reminds me of Wu's Ol' Dirty Bastard - RIP]. One to watch fo sho. Not to be confused with the American hip hop Teflon. If you like this support him somehow or @ least show him some love on myspace! Teflon - Stand Firm [brand [...]
