Sweden's Air France announced they were parting ways this week, the pair were too hard on themselves and as such found it too difficult to get their music to a finished point ("nothing was ever good enough"). Making music is an imperfect process. There is no 100% completion event, music is not a video game. Air France supposedly made seven albums in their time together that was not good enough. An indication that the DPs are planning to release an album on Domino soon comes in the form of a new track 'Gun Has No Trigger' which has dark-sided lyrics sung by Dave Longstreth set to choral voices. "But now the gate comes down / The pangs are growing dimmer / You hold a gun to your head / But the gun has no trigger."

You have have heard this week that The Morning Benders have changed their name to POP ETC. The USA band finally found out that "benders" doesn't exactly have positive connotations in Europe and to their credit, after seven years as a band, they have changed their name ( full statement ). "Rip her to shreds." Dum Dum Girls ' Dee gets cut up in this new black and white video for my favourite Dum Dum Girls track ever. The song is taken from the band's recent Sub Pop album Only in Dreams. The video appears to be an homage to Yoko Ono's Cut Piece. It was directed by Malia James .

While we wait for Major Lazer to drop this lush-sounding Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman collaboration, this track from Elliphant , a Stockholm lady signed to the same publishing and production company Ten as Niki & The Dove and Icona Pop. Rather than imbue their tracks with icey ambience, Elliphant go straight for your feet with hypnotic bleeping sounds and a global soundclash aesthetic. 'TeKKno Scene' is a club banger basically. Honestly, I recommend you just listen to the song before watching the video first time around. The track is a bit of a departure for iamamiwhoami , a chillwaving headnod pierced by Jonna Lee's nasal vocals. It's taken from their first album proper called kin of which 'Sever' , 'Good Worker' and 'Drops' came previously. The album will be audiovisual and out in June on Co-Op.

A serene blast of melancholic resplendence courtesy of everyone's favourite instrumental Icelanders. It's easy to be cynical about Sigur Ros . Their ever-present reach for celestial heavenly sounds can be easy to disregard but it's hard not to be drawn by its beauty. 'Ekki múkk' is taken from the band's first new album proper since 2008. 65daysofstatic inject some M83-style grandiosity into Tall Ships latest single 'T=02 on this remix. I'd recommend the original song to fans of Richter Collective's roster of rock. Coincidentally, the 73 and download single is released on Big Scary Monsters who have done split releases with Richter on Adebisi Shank's albums and a couple of others. Tall Ships are on a UK tour with Los Campesinos in Europe at the moment and Maps & Atlases in the UK next month.

I played this SebastiAn tune a lot when DJing last year. That beat is crunchy like a Transformer sound effect. The video for 'Love In Motion' was directed by film director Gaspar Noé who is responsible for Enter The Void and Irreversible . His visceral style suits the track's gut-punch while Mayer Hawthorne offsets that with soulful vocals. However, also like his films, the underage girl (actress Lente Tresor) doing risqué dance moves may make you feel uncomfortable. An appropriate summer jam for the arrival of the nice weather this week, 'The Only Place' is the first single from the album of the same name and an ode to Bethany Cosetino's hometown. Best Coast's second album (see cover and tracklisting below) features production from composer Jon Brion. Breton's M.O. appears to be quite a confusing mix of Foals-esque dynamics, avant-garde These New Puritans bits, dense electronica and a visual wing called BretonLABS .
