Yeasayer's debut was a flat-out folk album. With abstract vocals and tragic concepts, the album drifted steadily from song to song with irregular flutterings of acoustics on top of a bed of intense drum patterning. Their new approached, who many will be convinced is Merriweather Post Pavillion-influenced, is an electric affair with a continued sense of darkness. As a last minute attempt to catch up on some of 2009's best music, we bumped into 'Belong' by Pitchfork/ GvsB faves Washed Out . Along with the likes of Neon Indian, Toro Y Moi and Memory Tapes, Washed Out are pioneers of the minimalist/lo- fi /psychedelic craze that's spread itself from hipster to hipster this year. They're back! 'Lost A Girl' is the first single from NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB's second album! Due out February 2010, their sophomore album entitled 'The Optimist' will feature their chilling new single, available for free download on the website as of today.
