For one, the opening half a minute is pure wind blowing before being brought back to Jon Brion's familiar Phone Call melody. The sub of this mix [no memory] illustrates the ominous layers Wagner has drizzled over the original; Denise' vocals are so far gone they sound like they're lost in a maze of reverby-synthesiser calmness. Yukon Blonde deliver this stellar piece, and if the story was just a but more elaborate it could be another indie harmony anthem in the likes of Fleet Foxes and to a lesser extent Library Voices . As it stands now Jeff, Brandon, and Graham leave you wanting more (which for me means repeat for my entire trip to work and back).
