Instead, it's the sonic equivalent of a reminder you that you can dream with your eyes open as you walk through a deserted and hazy downtown Tokyo street and become hypnotized by the hiss of fluorescent lights encircling you in all the hues of the rainbow. The Workshirt from Engineered Garments has become a signature style from the New York brand. Their denim colourway has become the quintessential EG staple; changing slightly each season with new weights and dyes. The shirt consistently features two asymmetrical pockets, reinforced elbow stitching as well as their signature red stitching and red botton button. Canadian brand, Wings + Horns, continue their foray into quality sneakers this season. The have offered their Suede High Top Sneakers for FW12 in variety of new colourways. This second installment in our series of Spotify playlists is largely influenced by the baritone voices of Joy Division's Ian Curtis and maybe the second, much weirder, coming of him, John Maus. Levi's Vintage Clothing continues to delve into their archives to recreate designs from their earlier years. One piece that we have enjoyed first hand is their 1950s Textured Cotton T-shirt. As the name suggests, this is a replication of the style and dimensions of their basic tee from the 1950s. Most notably the t-shirt features a wider body, short/loose sleeves and a breast pocket. Upon wearing one will also notice the heavier weight of the cotton, an immediate sign of the quality behind the garment. Available at Mr. Porter and Tres Bien Shop .

We love that two of our favorite local artists finally got together on a song. The dance leaning indie-rock sound of Young Empires was always ripe for a more club friendly remix. Comme des Garçons PLAY continues to slowly expand their collection. What we find most intriguing about the brand is how consistent they have kept their designs while maintaining such a large and loyal following. The newest addition to the PLAY brand is a variety of hooded sweatshirts available in pullover and zip up options in four different colourways. As we see military/camouflage as a continued motif this FW12, it is interesting to see how different designers are reinterpreting the pattern. Wings + Horns have used camo in a tasteful way on a tailored button down in an indigo colourway. Vancouver brand wings + horns was launched in 2004 when founder Craig Atkinson returned to Canada after spending seven years in Japan. Kenzo has been experiencing a revival since Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, founders of Opening Ceremony, took over as the creative directors of the brand. The Medallion Print (pictured above) was pulled from Kenzo's archives and re-imagined on a slim fit, lightweight, cotton button down.
