Joe Goddard 's 'Gabriel' is a track that needs little push, simply because it's just so goddamn GOOD. But DFA are leaving no stone unturned with Goddard's recent work (featuring that insane vocal from the golden pipes of Valentina ); first releasing the four track Gabriel EP and the video for the single, throwing a party at XOYO London in honour of the EP (this Saturday the 24th) and on top of that, the Gabriel Remixes EP was released earlier this week and is now available . Gabriel [...]

It's been a long time since I've found something lol-worthy enough to post. Here it is: I totes heart you, random regional news anchor bro!

HIYA // Hugo Hugo Manuel is perhaps best known for being a part of English math-rock band Jonquil . But his foray into solo productions as Chad Valley proves him to also be a producer in his own right, with his self-described "sun-drenched Balearic pop" project. Softly editing tracks between guitar driven tunes and R&B crooners with palatable bliss-y style, he's remixed the likes of Foals , [...]

If you missed Twin Shadow debut his new track, 'Changes' on KCRW this week, have no fear, here it is. A re-make of a track originally by 80s group Baggare and entitled 'Circus Is Gone', George Lewis Jr managed to bang this one off single out in between his relentless tour dates. [Six Degrees of Blipster Separation Note: Twin Shadow also helped Chris Taylor from Grizzly Bear on his solo project CANT , who is about to go on tour with Blood Orange in support [...]

The lyrics that Girls ' Chris Owens sings in 'Honey Bunny' tell the story that despite seeming like he doesn't give a fuck, he does. In particular, he fronts about not giving a fuck about girls who don't seem to give a fuck about him. But actually, he DOES in fact, give a fuck, and wants a girl like his mum who loved him and told him that everything was gonna be alright. According to the lyrics, them girls who he messed around with didn't like his bony body [...]

Wild Beasts have announced that their next single from album Smother is to be the exquisitely bittersweet 'Reach A Bit Further', and HURRAH! with this announcement comes a new track! Entitled 'Thankless Thing', this track was recorded with long time collaborator and producer, Richard Formby at the start of the Smother sessions. If you, like me, have been collecting all the B-sides from the previous singles off Smother , the single will be available on the 14th of November via digital download and on limited edition coloured 12" [...]

HIYA // Yukimi photographs by Mads Tegler It was the crack of dawn this side of the globe. I swear, I was struggling so hard to emerge from still being in the depths of dreamland that I was slurring my words. By the time Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon greeted me on the line from London, we were on opposite ends on the spectrum of sleepiness as she put it. Thankfully, playback revealed her responses to be [...]

Rupert Grint and Tom Felton star in Scott Sternberg 's latest polaroid campaign for Band of Outsiders . HIYA // Bromance How appropriate and ironic that the ginger and the platinum blonde from the Harry Potter films find themselves combining their powers to model the label's latest FW collection shot on location at Magic Castle; a night club that doubles as a venue for illusionists and magicians to make shit appear and reappear. And stuff. [...]

Are you in Brazil? More specifically, are you in São Paulo? Are you pretty cool? If you meet the criteria above, we have a party for you to attend. Bonde do Role 's DJ Gorky is getting older this week and we are throwing a party tonight at Surface to Air's Bar Secreto to celebrate. Not only will Bonde do Role be spinning records there (a set that will only be repeated at Ke$ha's gig here in Brazil), but also DJ Goos, myself (repping IM// UR, yo) and the Danish singer Jeppe will also be on the [...]

I LOVE Orlando Higginbottom and his stellar project Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs . For a song as good as 'Garden', there should in fact, be more reasons for it to be heard; and a new video is a pretty good one. Being released on October 3rd via Polydor , it's (re-)whetting appetites for TEED's LP release, set to drop in early 2012. EXCITING. Originally released via Greco-Roman on the All In Two Sixty Dancehalls EP, 'Garden' was [...]

So The Golden Filter have been making a short film, and soundtracking it with their music... that's what they were teasing about a couple of weeks ago ! The short film is in collaboration with Scandinavian director Kristoffer Borgli and is about a girl with some X-Men/Misfits ( MISS YOU MISFITS ! HURRY BACK!) kinda steez and how she gets caught up in the bloated, gold lined underbelly of the rich, according to the PR. Judging with my own eyes, it seems beautifully and thoughtfully filmed as well as excellently soundtracked by Stephen [...]

I surprised myself at how surprised I was to enjoy this Toddla T and Skream track, entitled 'Streets So Warm'. Maybe because I haven't been on top of listening to everything that I'm meant to be listening to lately (and sorry to y'alls for that, cos I've also been neglecting to share stuff with you guys). But this is good. Taken off 'Watch Me Dance' (available HERE ) his second album, and again he taps dem Jamaican riddims and filters it through his London sensibilities; roping in Kingston local Wayne Marshall [...]

Full of gems, SBTRKT 's self-titled album was one of the soundtracks to my Parisian adventures during European summer earlier this year. As it starts to warm up in the Southern Hemisphere, I have no doubt that it will continue to musically enhance the heat, deep into an Australian summer. SBTRKT fans at Bestival via Speaking of deep, here's a new mixtape that SBTRKT did for Mary Anne Hobbs ' new XFM radio show. Perfect [...]

HIYA // (Asian-eyes-ed) Crystal Renn Now, we often have little arguments between ourselves about whether something is racist or not ( like when we asked you all about whether THIS was racist ). Mostly, it's over the fact that I go too far and don't even realise it to which I, of course, will argue back goodnaturedly that I in fact don't go far enough... In my opinion, Crystal Renn is generally just divine. And she is no less so in this Vogue Nippon editorial for [...]

If I was on the game show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' and the million dollar question was "Who is the producer behind 'Lost In Love'?" I'm sure the first option I'd have crossed out would have been James Connolly's L-Vis 1990 , and in doing so would have once again dashed my high roller dreams. But enough of hypothetical failures; let's talk about this silky smooth love song. Imagine Chromeo playing an end-of-summer ballad. Then remove the funny bone and and boost the emotional [...]

The line up of MoMA 's Warm Up Fest 2011 was after my own heart with the likes of oOoOO, Gang Gang Dance, SBTRKT, The Juan Maclean, Pictureplane, Tanlines, Nguzunguzu, Teengirl Fantasy, Solange aaaand - the point of this post - Blood Orange gracing the PS1 shindig. The scenesters from Opening Ceremony were present, did a Q&A with soon to be Aunty Solange (who made an onstage cameo with Dev at the festival) and nabbed a mixtape from the prolific and terrific Blood Orange. It's [...]
