Got some brand spanking new remixes of Trash Yourself's collaboration with the Toxic Avenger in the inbox today. Do yourselves a favor. Trash Yourself & The Toxic Avenger - Die (Ghost Klub Remix) Trash Yourself & The Toxic Avenger - Die (Kids at the Bar Remix) The Ghost Klub Remix is dubstep, not even dubstep / electro crossover really. And the Kids at the Bar remix is in their inimitable style, anyone following our blog over the last couple months will [...]

We have been slacking lately, can't say much about it, just that real life took over for awhile. But we're definitely back (well I'm back, Flashcards is in France ATM) so here's a few goodies. You will probably all remember how big a fans we are of the Dirty Disco Youth right? Well they've done a hilarious (and also very cool) electro cover of the Survivor hit Eye of the Tiger. Its very much in their usual style except for the dubstep sounding basslines that keep popping up in everyones beats recently. Check it. [...]

Roman comes through again with some enormous remixes. Skeleton brings skittering ratchet percussion, deep dubstep bass, and distant submarine pings to the dance floor with Roman's trademark overdriven synth. This one is filthy. Felix Cartel - Skeleton (John Roman remix) The Golden Gloves track is all blips and sirens, with the titular "huh" provided by none other than James Brown. It stays pretty smooth and clean until the metal-guitar synths show up in the third act to tear shit apart, closing the track on an odd, galoping dubstep rhythm. Golden Gloves [...]
This is creepy in that 70's children's movie sort of way, where everything is very pleasant, but also filled with unsettling wrongness. The song is quite nice though. I'm looking forward to the inevitable remixes. HEARTSREVOLUTION - 薔薇と彼女の王子 (The Rose And Her Prince) Uploaded by MaisonKitsune . - See the latest featured music videos.

The good people over at RCRD LBL have recently put up a remix of the Animal Collective's Summertime Clothes by the master of intergalactic boogie known as Dam Funk . Its got a breezy summer feel to it, and if you're anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere now's the time. Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes (Dam Funk Remix) I always did think that was the best song on the album, heresy I know. And just so you know what else Mr Funk has got to offer I thought I'd post [...]

Just been poking through the old inbox and I've got some interesting stuff from two groups. We recently posted a La Dolce Vita remix of Trash Yourself , and since y'all seemed to like that one here's another from them. This is a remix of a track off The Faint's album last year. The Faint - Forever Growing Centipedes (La Dolce Vita Remix) We're always happy to support local artists here, so good luck to them doing their thing down in Chi right now. And on a slightly different [...]

I've been disappointed with some of John Roman 's output lately, but this is pretty good. And anything with the Tribe is worth a listen. You can expect a big grinding synth line, busy drums, and some epic screeching build ups. A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario (John Roman Remix) While I'm posting rap remixes, here's a few that fell through the cracks. The Discotech track is perfect for sending home a floor full of tired dancers, and the Biggie is massive (even if the man himself doesn't make an appearance). [...]

A Passion Pit member calling himself "Shuttle" has decided to amp up the ironic with a 90's rave throwback remix of blog favorite The Reeling, brilliantly titled "Super Club Megamix 993. If that doesn't remind you of Napster, you're too young. Get out your E and glowsticks. Passion Pit - The Reeling (Shuttle's Super Club Megamix 99) (mediafire) (Courtesy of NME)

We're big fans of Designer Drugs around here, but their latest remix is pretty over-the-top fantastic. It prominantly features the main theme of Tchaikovsky's March Slav , which is the first Classical reference I can think of in blog house history (correct me if I'm wrong. I would love to be wrong on this). They even auto-tuned Karen O's hook to match. Since we're music nerds with a fondness for the low-brow, this is like Christmas morning. Never in my life did I expect to hear ODB chant "Wu. Tang." over Tchaikovsky. Thank you, Designer [...]

Diamonds , also known as Asher of the Glamour , recently sent Hot Biscuits a couple of original tracks. And we likey, never been ashamed to borrow an exclusive track here or there. Especially when they're this good, he's got a 2005 Booka Shade meets 90s Disco House sort of thing going on. The Glamour have rocked every set we've seen them play, so its exciting to see local artists develop their sound so quickly. My personal favorite is Do It To You. Diamonds - Do It To [...]

Krazy Baldhead is a French electro producer who sits at a comfortable distance from some of the noisier acts on Ed Banger. This "Club Mix" of Sweet Night starts out as a pretty minimal disco tune, with bouncing bass, chirpy synths, and sliding falsetto vocals paired with a deep-voiced robot. But about halfway through, the track skitters to a halt, only to rebuild itself as a grinding electro-monster. Sweet Night is Stress 's prettier, less crazy cousin. Krazy Baldhead - Sweet Night (Club Mix)
A couple new remixes from John Roman showed up in the inbox today. Roman, as you may know, is awesome. And not only for his recent Yeah Yeah Yeahs remix, but also for the fact that his Demo was named after a John Searle thought experiment. How many dance DJ's do YOU know that have taken Philosophy 101? The first is "Peep Thong" by His Majesty Andre, which, Roman points out, is actually just a loop. Roman adds several layers of airy, euphoric keys, and nearly succeeds in pulling the song off. Unfortunately, after [...]

This is another Cali production outfit, they're apparently throwing parties out of a gutted old dollar store. They've got the huge bleepy basslines we know and love and the twitchy sampling sensibility of that poor genre that got labeled fidget. Anyways they rule, those of you who've been following this site will remember that remix of Designer Drug's Back Up In This we posted a while back? Well here is Cold Blank's version. Designer Drugs - Back Up In This (Cold Blank Remix) Zshare [...]

Just one more quick plug for Bag Raiders at the Majestic tonight. You know you wanna go. Super Mal - Bigger Than Big (Bag Raiders Remix) Sneaky Sound System - I Love It (Bag Raiders Remix) Headman - Catch Me If You Can (Bag raiders remix) Chromeo - Call Me Up (Bag Raiders Remix)

Calling In Sick are yet another Australian duo, dead-set on making "good sound, and making good people dance... good." A noble endeavor. Yeah, they sound a bit like Justice, with their buzzsaw midrange synths and heavy bass, but we're not holding that against them. Calling In Sick - Ninja Gaiden Calling In Sick - Cali Games ♥ Heartache ft Cujo - What Does It Mean (Calling In Sick Remix) ♥ Grum - Runaway (Calling In Sick Remix) Shitdisco - 72 Virgins [...]

Trash Yourself come through again with some great remixes. The first is TY's take on Glasnost's "Come Alone", featuring an enormous guitar-flavored synth line, and some clever beat drops. It even gets all pretty at the end without losing momentum. Glasnost - Come Alone (Trash Yourself Remix) (alt) ♥ Next we've got two very different takes on Trash Yourself's "Forget It". The Jason Sundstrom version is all Justice-y metal synths, tightly-chopped, glitchy vocals, and the occasional "woo" sample. It's a bit obvious, but you can't argue with [...]

Do you like vocoders, giant synths, and video game noises? Of course you do. Get your fill this Friday, when Australian duo Bag Raiders will be playing this month's Discotech party at the Majestic theater, hosted by the wonderful people at indieQueer. We're there pretty much every month, and you should be too. The Raider's latest pair of singles, Turbo Love and Shooting Stars, is out on Bang Gang, but take a preview here. Glorious, euphoric, synth-pop. Bag Raiders - [...]

The completely ungoogleable Public is based out of Cali, splitting his time between LA and my future dream home of the Yay Area. He's been drowning the small chunk of the scene that I pay attention to with medium grade Electro movers with a definite mid 80s vibe to them. He also appears to be a bit of a metalhead, something I can totally get behind. Those interested in an electrohouse remix of Metallica need look no further than his remix of I Disappear. Metallica - I Disappear (Public Goth Remix) [...]

There is no cohesiveness to this post, apart from the fact that all of these songs would sound very good on drugs. If you need a break from the high-speed, screaming booze-fests we typically post, try these out on your "ketamine and syrup" friends. Royksopp's single has been everywhere, but I'm particularly liking Holy Fuck's version, with it's "holy shit, the sun's already coming up" feel. Since we're still far from the peak of the remix-wave this track is generating, a version without vocals is more than welcome. Royksopp - Happy Up Here (Holy Fuck Remix) [...]
French duo The Shoes are most unusual remixers. Here, they take a slice of britpop with a catchy chorus, strip it down to plucked strings and a heavenly angel choir, throw in their signature speech synth, and somehow create something exponentially catchier than the original. Absolutely addictive. Esser - Work It Out (The Shoes Remix) Their split 73 with Primary 1 is out now, also making use of the fantastically successful cross of British vocalists and French DJs. A list of things Primary 1 are addicted to, according to this song: "Cigarettes. [...]
